I honestly could not believe how prepared these guys showed up, they pulled up with two trucks that were entirely empty aside from the equipment that was inside them. They had advanced tools and dollies that were able to help on a number of situations throughout the house. The dollies enabled them to move heavy objects in and out by themselves, not requiring help from the other movers while they were busy. Other tools they had which very notable were these pads that they laid against fragile objects when moving them through tight doorways in order to prevent damage. They were so careful with our things that we did not mind paying a little bit extra for extra cautiousness, after all you move once in a while and want it to be done right. This was definitely one of the aspects that caused me to leave the rating I did. Another thing that I really loved about these guys was that they did not allow me or anyone in my family to partake in carrying objects. They made sure that my parents relaxed and watched, and supervised the movers as they did their job. The manager said that it was their job and that was the reason they were there and being paid. We really appreciate all of the hard work and effort these guys put into our move. Even the truck drivers were inside helping as much as they could until the trucks were full and they had to hit the road. The entire move was scheduled to take two weeks but we managed to narrow that down to about eight business days. I could not be happier with the results. Needed to find a mover fast. All the other "brand names" needed 2-3 weeks notice. I needed something 3-4 days before I needed to move. I got assigned a coordinator to give me a quote from their home base in California. After I paid, I arranged a time frame for my household goods. The dispatcher was good at letting me know the time frame. They also got my car shipped and all that. One gripe, if that, is that they don't move your stuff themselves. They contract local companies to do the move for you. In other words, they are what you call a broker. I know this because I asked the movers themselves if they're with Trico and he said, "No, we are a sister company. They contact us and we do the rest." Another gripe is that they charged me a "long haul fee". I had a top floor, corner unit at my apartment complex. They charged me an extra $300 for extra footage for the move. So be wary of that part if you're an apartment dweller. My stuff got to California safely and everything was accounted for. As for my car, again, they contract other auto shippers. My car came back in one piece. I'd recommend Trico. Some may be hesitant if they're essentially a "middle man" of sorts. They were professional with the whole process. read more

It was all fun and games until the movers actually arrived the very first day, we had contacted them twenty four hours prior to that and they were able to provide us with an estimation the next day. We had worries that we would not be able to make the deadline of the move as we needed to be moved out by the Thursday of last week. The day we called them was pretty inconvenient to get started so Trico was able to compromise and schedule us to have somebody come in and approximate the price and length of the transportation process. They informed us that the actual packing and loading the furniture onto the trucks will take up at least two to three days and the rest of the transport will take up to another four days relative to how far we were moving. I told my dad that they were offering several package bundles and he opted to choose the one with an insurance policy with it, I strongly agreed. It was one of the best deals they had, including a full damage reimbursal insurance policy for moves over a few hundred miles. Thankfully our move was just about that length if not longer and we qualified for the package. These guys are the very best at what they do, we contacted them on short notice and they did not overcharge us or give us a hard time about things. If we had to do it all over again I think we would still choose these guys without a doubt. This moving company took my moving experience to a whole new level! What amazing service from these guys, at such an affordable cost! I was able to get my quote the same day and an appointment scheduled on short notice. I went through a couple different companies and they were all busy or unavailable. Trico made sure to put time aside for my big move, it made me feel like they were my family and friends helping me move my stuff, not just robots programmed to do their job. They are very meticulous with their work which came to me as a surprise, a rare thing for a moving company pressured under time to do. I was shocked when they had arrived earlier to my house to make sure my things were ready to go! They offered to help pack and wrap, I had to ask if it was free, and they were shocked I had even asked them such things! Luckily, I had everything packed and good, but it was sweet of them to make that offer with no charge. My friends who were expecting to help haul my things out didn't have to help them either, they came with enough people to get our 3 sofas, television set, fridge, dressers, beds, and other furniture out in less half an hour. Just that saved us more time to settle into our new home. They organized my things in their truck and got it to my house safe. The road was super bumpy - (there were rocks lodged underneath my car!), but over 100 miles later, It was the best feeling opening the back of their truck and seeing my things exactly where I left them! The driver let me know that my things were in good hands and I was glad my trust was a good investment. Well trico is a love hate relationship. The car service was awesome. Moved from Texas to California and had our cars (my husband's and I) here in Cali within 3 days. The house movement however was another story. The rep was sweet handling both of car and home move. He made me believe that while they give you a 14 days window for home delivery, we would be getting our items long before that. He actually gave me a specific time frame... And we planned our hotel stays accordingly. Well, packing day came and it was nice (other than them saying we had more than they anticipated and they would add about $1500 more to our initial quote). I would have argued this with them but I gave in because my husband's company was paying and I really couldn't be bothered. Their service was awesome so I just kinda let things be. The part about their service I hated was when we didn't get our things on time and they kept referring back to their 14 business day policy even though I told them that I was told by the service rep that things usually don't actually take the full 14 days. Finally talked to a customer service rep and she told me that my goods were still in storage in Texas because they were waiting for more customers who wanted to move things from Texas to Cali as well (consolidation? ... Basically they were holding my things hostage to make the move worth it for their company... even though I paid full price to have MY things here on time). Long story short, we got our things, the move was excellent for both cars and home goods from Texas to Cali... But the part that left a really bitter taste in my mouth was the latter delivery of our home goods because they were pushing to wait for more customers who might want to move things in the same trip as ours. I'll use them again but will make sure to plan my hotel stay longer and prepare to wait the full length of time their policy gives. read more

I don't know where to start with this place! They had the best service, I didn't think a moving company would put so much effort to give people the best experience they have relocating. I moved a few hundred miles away from my original home, and the transition was so smooth. The movers arrived super early and got all of their equipment ready approximately forty five minutes before they were even supposed to be there. I've had some bad experiences before with moving, whether it was lost items or overpriced service . This company offers no twists and stay true to their word. My cousin had recommended them to me and at first I was skeptical, having so many negative encounters in the past. But they transported my bed, dresser, and numerous boxes in less than a week, I had hopes of everything being done and completed within two weeks and was totally surprised and happy that they were able to do everything at such a quick pace. I was astonished at how much time I saved, at least 4 hours were saved ! The other moving companies I've tried took at least 2 hours transporting my stuff to the truck, I thought that was normal but not anymore! Needless to say, I couldn't have imagined that they would give me such great service for such a low price.  I'm definitely recommending them to my friends and family because most of them are pretty conservative and do not like using companies that have been previously verified by someone they know personally.  From the very first instant we spoke on the phone we were able to tell we are in good hands and they were going to get the job done properly. It took them no time at all to get the trucks parked and ready to start hoisting with a large liftgate that they used for heavy furniture like couches or wide screen televisions. We had high priority on the fragile items and were worried about thing being broken either during loading onto the trucks or possible even when everything is being shipped. They were able to do the entire job to our very liking, the movers were a very cool personable group of guys and it was a delight working with them. Things started off pretty complicated, there were a whole bunch of things that needed to be accounted for but not enough time to manage everything. The front entrance to the apartment building had been closed due to short circuiting of the wiring within the building and this caused a disturbance in the potential work ethic of the movers. It caused to use the back entrance of the building for the first two days which was much narrower and did not allow us to carry everything that was necessary out. First and foremost one of the most difficult things that the movers had to carry out from the rear exit was large pieces of furniture, most notably the couches and television. The tv was a flat screen so it was not too difficult to fit sideways, however the couches were not only long but also wide and posed a great obstacle for the movers with getting it outside. After the things were finally moved out thankfully since the front door of the building got fixed early on the second day, the truck driver and a partner of his threw everything into the back of the truck and got ready to haul it all back to their warehouse to get it shipped out to our new place. Our new place was across the country a few hundred miles towards that north and Trico guaranteed us that nothing would be damaged on the way there and offered us a very cheap insurance add on if we wanted to be extra cautious. We opted to not purchase it as we believed what they were saying that nothing would be damaged, fortunately for us we received all of our things about four business days after they had been shipped out and they were in perfect condition. These guys proved us the ultimate test that they were a reliable company by the very fact that they did not give up hope on our move, despite all of the challenges we had to face. We had contacted them for a fairly long move that needed to be done before the time that was given for us to move out. Within the first four days we saw the toughest challenges which was finding a way to carry out all of the heavy furniture. The movers we were assigned truly worked together well, even if you put them in separate rooms they would find a way to get their points across with each other and communicate. What was even more satisfying was that the two men who were assigned as the truck drivers even came in to help out for the first few hours of each day. Their jobs did not involve much tedious labor but that did not stop them from helping out. We really appreciated this. They went far and beyond each day doing things such as staying forty five minutes to an hour longer just to help us clean up the scraps of trash on the ground. We had a pretty big house that needed to be moved out and you can imagine how much trash ended up on the floors. Thankfully we were assigned very thoughtful and courteous movers who did not leave us hanging with that mess, if we had a choice to hire another group of movers it would be these guys without a doubt. By the way thank you to the gentlemen who we spoke to on the phone. This man was so helpful, he would call us each day and check on the progress of the move and even called us after we moved into the new place just to see how we had settled in. I was very happy with the move provided by the wonderful gentlemen from Trico Long Distance at Dallas. We booked them on such short notice but they had no problems accommodating us. They even contacted me the night before the move to confirm and make sure we are ready. The representative gave us some suggestions on how to pack to quicken their process of moving. I alerted him that we had some fragile items (holiday decorations, special hand-made vases, and 50-inch television) and he took note and supplied extra padding when the movers arrived. I wanted to put the televisions back into the original boxes, but the crew assured me there would be no issues. They packed up our whole three bedroom house in less than forty eight hours! Once they left, they kept communication with us, letting us know an approximate time they will deliver our goods and made sure to deliver on their promise. It was a fun but tiresome process that we had to endure in those two days. The one thing that I loved was that the crew asked me where I would like certain items to go. They took care of everything, basically at my command. These guys go the extra mile for their customers and do anything in their ability to make sure proper customer service is delivered. They reassembled a few items that my family needed help with and helped with the layout of the backyard patio/living room. Their price was also spot-on. They were one of the better quotes I had received, but I don't believe I would have gotten anything better from any other moving company. By the end of the move, I felt a bond with these movers. I had to move from North Arlington, NJ to Dallas in January. After contacting many "highly rated" moving companies, I settled on Trico Long Distance Movers. Though I saw some negative reviews about the company, I wanted to give it a shot. I chose Trico to move by 1 bedroom apartment and my car. Kelly from Trico gave me a very good price which other "highly rated" companies were not even close to. This included disassembling, packing, unpacking and assembling of my furniture and TV. At this point I had not known my destination address but Trico was gracious enough to provide me 1 month free storage at the origin. I had to provide them the exact address once I reached the destination and they would start the shipping process. From my side I provided them the exact number of boxes and also the items. For moving the car they usually give a window of 3 days, but I was happily surprised that the carrier company called me the very first day. I had to deliver my car to a place that was big enough for the carrier to load my vehicle, which was around 4 miles from my apartment.The driver was very courteous and after signing up a few documents, loaded the vehicle and he was on the way.He told me it would take approx 4 days to reach Dallas and he would call me 1 day before.The movers who came on the settled date were very professional and they carefully packed my stuff and loaded them onto their truck. They were very polite and friendly and explained to me what the steps are. They have a wonderful way of tracking your stuff. They attach stickers with nice little numbered bar codes which i believe get scanned at the storage facility and at the time of loading. At the destination a sheet with all the numbers will be provided which I had to tick off. Really cool!! Once I reached the destination and found an apartment. Informed Trico of my address. They started the process the next day as it was late in the evening. I used to get text messages about the location of the driver. The driver called me a day before arriving to check I was at home. This is the first time I have had to use a moving company and I called 2 others for quotes. I felt most comfortable with Trico's professionalism, quote which I was given and the detailed plan laid out for me. My move was from NY to Dallas and knowing I did not have a full house to move (apartment), there was no exact delivery date. An estimated window of time was given to me and they were true to their word. Moving and packing my things couldn't have gone smoother. My furniture was wrapped so well, it would almost have been impossible to have scratches. The movers were polite and professional. Every box was tagged and numbered with my name.
