I had a unit with the Extra Space Storage on 108 Skateway Dr. in Fayetteville, NC. I didn't have any issues before but after I got robbed from unit I no longer use them and wouldn't advise anyone to use them. To give some context, I had my unit for over a year and had went by there to put a few things inside it. I had things from mychildhood and collectibles that were irreplaceable. I didn't secure the lock on my unit and I was notified but I live an hr outside of Fayetteville. I got to my unit a few days later and saw that it had been robbed. At least $3000 worth of things were taken. I called the police and did the necessary steps to report it. I filed a claim and was told because the unit was not 'forcefully' broken into there was nothing they would reimburse me for. Therefore I could not get paid back for anything that was stolen. I moved my remaining belongings out soon after that. I have been in contact with the detective over my case and he informed that this has happened 15 separate times at that same faculty. He had advised that I moved my things out (to which I already had) and that no one should use that faculty at all. This is in contrast to the manager I spoke with the day I discovered my things were gone, she said that this almost never happens. I am sharing this to let others know and to hopefully prevent anyone from having to go through this. DO NOT use the Extra Space Storage on 108 Skateway Dr, Fayetteville NC. They have allowed 16 people to get robbed out of their units and their company will not reimburse you for the things you held dear being taken from a place where there is supposed to be secure. On top of that, they raise the rates higher every other month, my bill started at $87 then was raised to $158 before being lowered to $123 then being raised again (after my things were stolen) to $166. Please be mindful of the place you chose to use and don't use them. read more

I had an awesome experience with James!! He helped me the first time - he made sure to call me and let me know if I had any questions he was there to answer them. He did not call excessively at all!! I appreciate that. He was always nice and I asked him about the job market there. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about that too. I waited to long and missed out on the deal when James and I had spoke. I ended up signing on with a young lady and she was just as nice as James. I'll give 4 stars due to the great staff. The prices are a joke though. We thought we were getting a great price and then about 6 weeks later they doubled it. I understand rising costs but double? That's pretty aggressive for a storage unit. read more

Booked unit online and then came to look at the unit. Sherry was amazing and fun to work with. We had to make a unit adjustment a week and a half later and Sherry helped us make the transition quickly to meet our needs. Highly recommend using the Climate control units. I had a last minute storage need and called to make a reservation for a unit. Thankfully, they had the one I needed open. The associates that work here are so helpful and friendly. Paperwork was a breeze. They gave me a tour of the facility before I signed up for my unit to make sure that is what I wanted. The units are being rented for a great price! I couldn't be happier with the 10 x 15 climate controlled unit I decided to rent. Also, there aren't any lease commitments. So you can lease month by month, no problem! They require at least a 10 day notice before breaking the lease. Auto pay is available, which is nice because I'm the worst about doing payments manually. read more

I will say that the unit itself was clean and I had easy access to it. The gates appear to be secured day and night. No complaints there. My 2 star rating comes from the customer service. After my first walk through inspection it felt very warm in the unit. I was renting a climate controlled unit for extended storage. I asked what the condition/temp the unit was kept in...I was told the temp is kept approxiately 75-55 degrees. I knew it was no where near 75. I brought back a digital thermostat I purchased at lowes and found the temp to be 90. I'm paying $200 a month for 90 degrees? I questioned the representatives about it and was told there is no way the temperature is 90. That the temp is around 75 like I was told. Someone probably just left a door open. Each day I have been back loading the unit...the temp has been mid to high 80s or back into the 90s and even reaching 92. Unfortunately I have no time to switch storage facilities so will have to stick it out here. There are no refunds and the conntract says they cant guarantee unit conditions. I dont like being called a liar. Yes thermostats can vary, but consistently 10 and 15 and more degrees off...yeah I dont think so. The actual temp doesnt matter to me as much as being repeatedly told the temp is 75 when it obviously is not. Pretty disappointed as the reviews were good. I expected far more for $200 a month. read more

Move in day I got to go over my lease info with Sherry who has a beautiful spirit. ESS on raeford road has the best staff making sure their customers are taken csre of and THEY ARE WILLING TO HELP! I checked other places out and they followed up with me the next day. Their customer service is above expectations. They showed me the unit, provided better prices than anyone else in town and believe me, I went everywhere else first. Their climate control units are cheaper than anywhere else in town. I've stored my stuff at three different locations in Fayetteville and this place is by far the cleanest and nicest place. The lot is good sized for trucks and trailers and the hallways in climate control are good sized. The staff is always friendly and courteous. I've used Extra Space in San Antonio, TX as well and it was the same result. Very impressed and will store my stuff with them again. read more

We made reservations online and Sherry and Kayla called to confirm before the move date. When we realized we'd estimated wrong about the size of the unit we needed, it was after hours. My husband left a message, and, to our surprise, he got a return call within the hour. We got the larger unit and they did all the necessary changes to the lease before I arrived. It was smooth and easy, and most importantly, the unit was immaculate!! The ladies are phenomenal and professional and very knowledgeable. I would recommend them time and again!!! read more

I initially made a reservation online, was pleasantly suprised to receive a call from Jessica within 5-10 minutes of making the reservation. Unfortunately we were thinking we couldn't make the time to get our U Haul unloaded and retuned even with Jessica offering to arrive 30 minutes early just for us!! Talk about feeing special! We had to cancel our reservation and checked with several other storage companies in the area. We were so disapointed, not only with the price they were quoting, but the customer service people were rude, some could hardly speak english. I hurried up and called Jessica back and asked if she coud reinstate our reservations, and do the 30 minute early arrival. She performed her magic and we managed to get there, do the paperwork, and unload our truck thanks to Jessica. I will definately recommend Extra Space Storage. Thanks for all your hard work. read more
