We then spent the next day searching storage units for an indoor-climate controlled storage unit (a must! With all of the humidity in FL, it's hard to escape water damage with outdoor). This Life Storage had a handful of units available to book. They were running a first month free promotion which was great! Customer service rocked. They were honest and helpful with filling out the paperwork. When we were unloading the truck they were around in case we needed any help. We had a problem getting in at 8pm one night but they were very professional and helpful to reset our code for the following days.

They couldn't look into it that night and sooo...They had me come all the way back to Pensacola from Miramar so they could take photos (for insurance purposes they claimed). I had to be there to let them in....okay. Irritating but okay. I was told they will follow up so I moved all my stuff to one side away from the clearly leaking roof. And I Never heard back. Next time I Came into town for work I stopped in and asked what the result was. I was told there was no leak and no further steps would be taken. Ummm okay. Maybe a flook? Idk. They said they checked the roof and it was fine. They did not offer to reimburse or switch my unit, in fact on the phone they were going to charge me $30 more for a space of the same size off Michigan. I am 5'0 120 and I have degenerative discs. I cannot possibly move all this stuff by myself. So I covered my property in plastic bags and set out a bucket to collect water leaking in from the roof. A while later I came back to town and the entire place was wet, the leak had grown and all my stuff was water damaged. There was an inch and a half of water in the bucket I'd left out. Once again an employee came took pictures, but they can't touch anything or move anything for said pictures. I have to do all the heavy lifting. This time she offered to switch the unit for no extra, she was nice about it, but once again the Time it takes away from my busy life, the fact that I'd need to get grown men to help me move this and the fact that a lot Of my stuff is ruined and needs documented was not taken into consideration. From my understanding the employee would turn in the pictures and they would contact me when I could file a claim. Okay,,, here it is a few weeks later and no one contacted me. So I messaged them. The manager, Alex called but never left messages....I don't answer random numbers and usually businesses will leave a vm to say who they are. Nope just called and hung up. Alex informed me that I had declined to transfer spaces. That I had declined to file a claim and that I needed to pay today or There would be a late fee. So now I'm angry. This is the second month I will have paid This location for Ruining my laptop furniture clothing artwork and electronics. without Offering a discount, reimbursement or even an apology for their negligence of the leakage issue. I know now that the insurance is separate, despite them requiring it, and raising it and I have to file It on my own time. Store here at ur own risk. I wouldn't.
