Troy's estimate also recommended three men, which we were fine with and booked. We received a call about 30 minutes before they arrived, and once they arrived, they got to work. When you book Two Men and a Truck, you're charged a travel fee and an hourly rate. I was worried that in a rural area, we would be charged a higher travel fee, but we were not. The company has a large service area. The three gentlemen who moved my mom's two-story home to the smaller one-story ranch did an excellent job. The price was incredibly fair for the service and professionalism we received. Nothing was broken, and the crew took good care of my mom's belongings as if it were their family member's move. they provided recommendations on where to place furniture in my mom's new-to-her home. Everyone was super professional and worked FAST. In fact, they finished the move a bit earlier than we expected. Paying with credit card or cash after our service was very easy, and we gave a well-earned cash tip. I recommend Two Men and a Truck for anyone in the Grand Strand for a move. I spoke with someone that handles customer service higher up than the last time I dealt with them. She told me that the delay in my shipment was simply bad luck and things happen that are out of their control. And that the stolen/missing items we discovered while unpacking can't be covered due to the fact that when the movers were leaving they had me sign a receipt. That receipt waved them of any responsibility they had for our possessions. Except when two guys are carrying boxes and putting them down all over your new home in a hurry it's hard to keep track of what they brought and what they didn't bring. And most of the boxes had two shipping stickers on them because they didn't have enough space on the first truck to bring all of our belongings. That's where the unlucky part comes in. My recommendation is never use this company to move anything anywhere and if you do use a moving company video everything in your home and use your own tracking system for what they are taking. Make sure before they start moving your stuff that it will fit in the truck they brought and never ever sign anything no matter what or how pushy they might get. And another thing, if they won't take a personal check from you don't use them period. The reason is if you discover after the fact that you are missing items at least you have a fair chance of putting a stop payment on the check. I'm not saying cheat these people all I'm saying is give yourself a fair chance to make sure everything is correct and in good condition.
