I hired this company for Feb. 16th to move from MyrtleBeach to Murrells Inlet, a 20 minute ride. I packed up items i needed to be moved with my furniture. 3 workers and a supervisor/owner arrived promptly, they were cordial and worked quickly that's why I gave a 2nd star. I made sure all boxes were out of unit before leaving, after the unload at new place, I signed paperwork of completion and shook the owners hand, gave them all tips. By day 3 I realized I had items missing and called the office. Was told they had nothing at warehouse and truck was checked before leaving by owner so nothing on truck. They said this happens and boxes may have been misplaced in unit and will probably show up. I researched unit and closets no boxes! I called again to be told nothing they could do, items not there and they trusted their workers. OK so how did 3 boxes go missing 20 min later? Part of a China Collection, and a Frog collection both sentimental from deceased relatives., was also suggested because I did the packing and not them that maybe said boxes were on the truck. I hired Labarbera Movers to move us from our house to our new apartment. Labarbera's communication was amazing from my initial contact with them through the end of the move. The price quoted was very reasonable and their excellent customer service wound up saving me lots of $$$. They DO move TVs (a lot of movers don't), they have a contraption that keeps framed items safe during the move so I didn't have to purchase special boxes and pack up my art, and they will loan their customers wardrobe boxes, again saving hundreds of dollars. The team of movers were fast, effecient, knowledgeable, courteous, kind, thorough, and (BEST OF ALL) they read the room labels on the boxes and put them in the right place!!! Ive moved 7 times. This move was the best. Forget the semi-trucks used by the big national movers where your furniture is mixed with other stuff and delivery dates are not set in stone. With Labarbera (Lab), they packed us on Monday, loaded us on their nice straight trucks on Tue, and delivered us 200 miles away on Wed. Furniture was carefully wrapped and other than a few very minor issues, everything arrived unscathed. The quote I was given weeks before was what I paid when the move was completed. Their pricing was very competitive and usually lower than other vendors. Other vendors had laundry lists of what they wouldn't move and what they wouldn't do. Not so with Lab. Other movers required that we take all the pictures off the wall. Not Lab. Very professional and courteous. I am also very pleased that when carrying furniture into the new home, they didn't leave a single mark on the walls or the entrance doors. That was incredible since they had big loads and had to go up stairs with a 90 degree turn 3/4 the way up with a good portion of the off-load. I checked with 5 movers. This company was without a doubt the best decision I have made in quite a while. Take my advice, give Max or John a call and tell them you want a stress-free move. Labarbera was the only company that could move our juke box up a flight of stairs. They were great! Personable, quick. I've been working on an inventory list for the moving company we used in the Villages About $10,000 in value and the insurance offered $600 and the company offered to put in the same amount! That's why I am spending so much time on a new. Detailed list of damage! I am so relieved we found Labarbera! It helps to know that I won't have someone that I have to worry about when we move again!
