Shame on your group trying to tell me that giant puddle on the floor of the climate controlled unit it was a stain and when I shined my flashlight on it to prove it was a puddle of water you had the nerve to tell me it was humidity. Then you call your boss who can't see it and I can hear her say in the background "tell her its humidity" Unprofessional and unbelievable! I made it clear that I had a lot of large, heavy furniture and I also told them the sizes of the two storage units that I wanted emptied and brought to my new house. I specifically asked if it would all fit and if they would make multiple trips. I was quoted a price for six hours including tax. They did bring most of the large, heavy stuff but took NONE of the boxes. Now I am left to empty half of a 10x25 unit in MANY trips in my car. Not only that, but one of the movers spent a lot of time trying to get out a splinter (using tweezers that I offered) and using the bathroom and the other guy stood around waiting for him. This caused me to be charged for an extra hour. I'm grateful for what they did, but it wasn't as much as I was expecting. I'm older and on a limited budget so I went with the lower priced option because she said they would handle it, but they didn't and now my arthritic knees and back are paying for it.

My reserved climate controlled storage unit had water on the floor; plus to access it you had to go through a tiny door then turn down A hallway and the access to the storage unit was tiny. They tried to tell me that it was a stain then said it was humidity, that is the most ridiculous thing you could say to someone. Insulting actually. She called her boss and I could hear her say tell her it's humidity. That manager is an idiot & anyone that tries to gaslight the customer is not good at their job and I would never want to trust them. But thankfully I pushed for a resolution and after many phone calls from me to the cubesmart customer service line and the associate calling every number she could find for help (Her back up people were not answering the phone, unacceptable) she was able to reach the manager of the old school house location. This location! Karen came right in on her day off in the high heat and through the heavy beach traffic. She was so nice and so friendly to me and my son. Her facility was clean, dry and better maintained than the other location. She had a unit ready to go which way is right inside a wide doorway and the entrance in the storage unit was a large doorway as well. Did I mention the floor was dry? You could say that this location is far superior than the other location. If you're trying to decide between the two locations pick this one, always. Started off at the Niantic Storage Place facility. Had to immediately move out to the Essex Storage…read morePlace facility as owner/manager did not reserve the correct units requested. Resulted in moving into Niantic, stuffing, into a too small unit, followed by having to move to correct space available in Essex/Centerbrook. This was exhausting, stressful, expensive. Nearly 4 yrs, $13K later in fees, it was discovered after seeing pilfering going on in a neighboring unit and looking deeply into the very back of my unit, that items were moved about, a furniture item was damaged by HVAC unit tubing leak onto a wood buffet in meticulous shape, expensive to fix! Another + $1K (repair) and a hallowed out work area seem to be made in the back, out of sight. Many missing items, open boxes and empty boxes, missing and strewn about etc. Shocking to me. BEWARE. Nothing was offered for coverage for OBVIOUS photographed water damage/condensation, missing items/ stolen, nor explained. Manager / owner refused to address, as he would not come to the unit to view. Bullies, screams and yells. Extremely unprofessional and uncaring. Coats chewed by rodents, items smell of mold and mildew. HVAC seems inconsistent in use, not as effective as should be. Rodent traps evident all over building don't work, coats covered well where chewed at bottom hems. Double billing took place repeatedly. Note: ALL Locks can easily be manipulated in mere minutes, see the Net and local hardware store pros if you don't believe. Tried repeatedly, over and over, to work with CJ over the years, didn't help at all. Things got a little calm in the middle of the term but he has always been extremely difficult, hostile, angry toward me when any problem was surfaced from the start. CJ attempted to lock me out of the facility for my "paid in full" unit in the end. What happened at the end of term, my extreme urgency and desire to vacate immediately, could've never been anticipated no matter how bad the relationship had gotten times, its been heartbreaking, behaviors felt very threatening. Others at the facility asked me about missing items over the years too, questioned me and the "goings on there." There was also a water leak at the garage bay door that flowed into a smaller unit I had in Essex causing me to move to another unit in this facility! Items were NOT kept secure, not returned at all or as stored, nor kept from premises damage and theft. This is our world now. Desperate times. Very upsetting to have your belongings taken. We know exactly what happened at Storage Place in Essex, under the management and supposed owner. Please make sure to carefully secure, photograph and monitor your belongings if you decide to utilize this business. Proceed at your own risk. Good Luck to ALL!

Worst move and worst customer service ever. Salesperson didn't ask enough questions about items…read morebeing moved. They said they would.pack items and when they arrived to pack up items I was informed that it would cost more. So I agreed to pay. The person in charge was rude and ignorant and just blaming me for all the items. The company put the items into storage and I was charged for that, that was fine. Then it came time to have items moved to new location. The man in the office wasn't professional at all telling me the dates and times he could move the items. Not really accommodating me. Then he was rude about the fact I had to arrange funds before the move. Then the items arrived to be moved into storage unit and home. Well pictures were broken, a folk art piece broken, china cabinet damaged on bottom, then come to find out pieces left behind because they decided to put some pieces into another part of there warehouse. No idea why, he gave excuse that the warehouse manager wasn't there to help sort. So I asked to have those pieces delivered, yet again he told me when he was going to do it. I was to be thankful he wasn't charging me for storage. So in the time that passed lost a tv, a new bbq still in box, hardware for putting a bed together, a very large painting, smaller painting done on driftwood, then I was given a tv not even mine. So again I asked him for my things. He said that now I have to file a insurance claim. He was to send out the forms, that was on march 17, 2021. Still no forms, then he said he mails forms every two weeks. Weird business practice. So I started unpacking items. Pieces missing on crystal decanters, crystal bowl broken, a pair of victorian cases damaged. That was only.in three boxes much more to unpack. These people don't care about your items and are just rude and ignorant. I think the man in charge should be fired and if he is the family man running this business should be shut down permanently. Never never never do business with these people I paid over $3000.00 for a move from ct to rhode island.

I have provided documents showing this is over $4000 worth of damage to my home and possessions. Again, extra insurance up to $5000 was purchased by me through All my Sons, and my claim was sent to Ace W, who sent me a claim form addressed to another of their clients! So now I have all this client's information and they have mine. Ace Ward decided the 4000$ in damages was worth $950 but immediately revoked the form once sending it to me. Please take this as your warning to never use this company. I don't understand the utter disregard for documentation provided by their clients. This on top of sending my private information to another client and sending another clients info to me!
