I had an unexpected move in July when my job transferred. I was able to quickly get a quote and…read moreschedule the move with All My Sons. I was quoted a cost dependent on miles and weight with a high estimate of $2k, if my one bedroom apartment weighed 4000 lbs. I was a little concerned with the distance (2-3 hours) and getting the move complete in one day, but it went really well. The 2 person team was on time and loaded up the truck in 90 minutes. It look a while to get to the new apartment due to traffic, but they unloaded in about 2 hours. It was challenging to park in the new apartment lot and they had to use an elevator, slowing things down, but they made it work. I have never had a move without some damage, so there was a missing support for my desk shelf and a scratch on my coffee table, but otherwise, everything was in great condition. I was very impressed with the speed, quality, organization, and care displayed by the movers. My only criticism was the lack of documentation. I received some paperwork electronically to sign when I scheduled the move, but never got written documentation of my estimate. I also did not have a written invoice showing the cost associated with the miles and the weight when it was completed. I had to call the office to get an invoice and I just got a document with a cost of packing materials and a lump sum for the rest of the move labeled as "additional/misc charges". The total charge was just over $2k, so it was close to the estimate. I just expected to see documentation in accordance with the weight and mileage, so the estimate would make sense. This was the first time I did not get the full paperwork from a mover.

Update: 50% refund…read more Yeah, don't go with these guys. i had specific instructions for my move both to the rep on the phone (xavier he's great) and to them directly. all were not really cared for properly. I should have just gotten my friends and a uhaul to move, but i was promised it would take 5hrs. i was billed 5.5hrs. tip top of the money i had left. and they didn't even have time to move everything. why? because their recklessness with my things i didn't want them carrying my computer monitors. they were hired to pack and move stuff across portland. they came at 1:30 when they said only to tell me that they didn't know they needed all the packing stuff. they eventually arrived nearly 2hrs later and towards the END Of the original window i was promised without any 'hey we will be there at this ETA' they said they got stuck behind a train, which is fine i guess? but no update after that until i called and complained, which got me a 5% discount, which is nice i guess? but like everything that happened after were MASSIVE red flags, both for the computer and the 'movers' which felt like contractors they just hired for whatever without properly vetting. i had a small move, 2 rooms. they were the slowest movers and most reckless movers i've ever hired. but i don't really blame them fully for that. supposedly they were working since 8am and just drove up from salem or something. they didn't even eat lunch. is that even legal?! no wonder they came to the door exhausted already and out of it. These 2 guys did the best they could, but honestly with how exhausted I was from helping them (something i SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO DO), they were doing a good job, but that doesn't really matter. In the end this guy ruined my $2000 custom built standing desk for music. not sure if i can get it repaired or fixed. he undid it and said he will put it back together. it was pretty easy just a few bolts into the joints between the wooden top and the legs and putting on the keyboard tray. easy stuff for the most part (when you have a drill, i don't own one). this guy didn't even look at where he was drilling or understand how the desk was put together after showing him specific things. he just drilled in the bolts and they hit a part that they're supposed to go into but was put in backwards making it impossible (on purpose) to get the screw in. this guy just kept drilling harder and harder and when i asked him about it he was like yeah it's supposed to sound like that. He either was so exhausted he couldn't think straight or just took on tasks he could have said 'yeah i don't know how to do that, can you do it?' either way now i have a broken desk that's only partially built and put together. i am really glad i moved all of my expensive stuff to my place with a friend last weekend, because they definitely would have broken a lot of very expensive things! I also gave them a mattress cover to put on the mattress, and they struggled doing that. You are movers wtf?! i zipped it up about half way and moved on. Then when we got to my new place they didn't even use it and put the mattress on the pavement to get a better angle or something. like what was the point in bringing it?! They also dropped a bunch of precious memories i had in a bin in a bin, they said they took them out because the outer bin couldn't close (bs). They were holding it open wrapped around their arm and i asked them to close it as it doesn't look secure and he said it would be fine, then immediately drops it with pictures and papers dropping on the ground and getting dirty. Anyway this all just happened. and there's no way I can live in my new place due to the lack of time they afforded to me to actually place things in the right spot. At least my bed is in the right spot. luckily for now i am in a short term rental because my last place had mold and why I am moving. i am highly allergic and being there as long as i did, both to wait for them to show up and how slowly they worked on loading the truck, I am feeling sick again because of it. The estimate was low balled to say the least because these guys move at a snails pace because this company overworks them and treats likely their staff like crap. these are probably more desperate people looking for an easy pay day. one guy was like 'i worked 4 days this month' and the other one worked 6 days in a row. a 12 hr day without a break outside of driving (which isn't a break) isn't really fair or legal? I paid nearly 1k for this move, and you can't afford to give these people a proper break between moves? I'm sure they weren't making nearly enough either. Lastly they pressured me to sign a thing at the end of the receipt that says everything was delivered intact, which i didn't sign. Anyway go with another company, not worth the risk. I didn't have another weekend to do this move as i need to have a livable space and that takes time as well. Anyway the movers were careless, slow, expensive, and ignored instructions.

All Service Moving did a great job. However, I was pushed…read moreinto signing a release of liability half way through. The rep said turning it sideways to get it thought the door was a special event somehow and that I would have to sign some papers. Seriously, I'm paying $700 to move a 350 pound object from the parking lot into my apartment. All Service Moving should bake the liability into the cost. If they drop it and I can't fix it, I'm willing to eat the $3k to buy a new one but they should at least agree to haul the old one away and move in the next one for free.

Scheduling was easy and the cost very reasonable. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Two moves, and I'm going to be very generous with 2 stars…read more The first move took much, much longer than it should have with three guys, and they unfortunately didn't realize I grew up speaking Spanish (I'm mixed but white presenting) and said some highly unfavorable things for professionals. While the guy who did my paperwork seemed nice, it was way over the top like he was trying to ingratiate himself with me for a better tip. The questions he was asking me were personal and invasive and just left me feeling uncomfortable and wanting to get away from him. Unfortunately this is the reality of being a woman, often, is men mistake your kindness for familiarity when he should have just stuck to being a professional doing his job. This second, and LAST move I will ever hire Bridgetown for, I booked a move with three guys and the same size truck as my previous move. I specifically wanted a company who knew how much stuff I had (we ran out of room, the first time, and I had to leave several items behind). The issues started at booking, when my estimate arrived with my deposit, and the quote read $0...I checked in with Devon and she said my move was still booked, the quote was just a system error (but didn't fix the issue of an hourly rate for 3 guys...but ok...), the confirmation text I received a a few days before my move caused me minor panic because she listed the wrong date...OOPS her bad, but it's fine, all is well, ok... But, the day comes, and TWO men show up with a much smaller than expected truck. I ask about the 3rd guy? Oh well yea his work order says it's supposed to be 3, the paperwork he hands me says 3...I call Devon and yep oops "Dispatch" (aka one of the owners apparently?) "made a mistake and sent the wrong crew due to a paperwork mixup." Folks, when I tell you this would have been an absolutely nightmarish scenario that would have cost me my last shred of sanity due to all the BS I've been dealing with, it can't be underestimated how p'd off I was. Luckily for me, I have terrible anxiety and bc my last move took so many hours, I haven't been able to sit still and had taken *sixteen* carloads of moving bags over myself before the movers ever arrived. I wanted this move to go so much smoother than the last, and I had two afternoon appointments for various maintenace and install issues with my new house that day of the move. I booked three men and huge truck specifically to make the move fast and easy. If I had not absolutely destroyed my body (thank you, anxiety, for apparently seeing the future and that something would in fact massively go wrong) taking allllll that stuff myself over two weeks after I got my keys on the 1st, there is ZERO shot everything would have fit on the truck, not even half my stuff would have fit. And as a reminder, I specifically booked Bridgetown because they had an inventory from my previous move. I was in the end charged the minimum rate, to "apologize" for the "mixup," but having to explain to Devon and to the two man crew why this was all so frustrating and upsetting is insane to me. I booked 3 guys, giant truck, with BM specifically who had my inventory because I knew how much stuff I had to move. They caused me at least 10 more gray hairs that day. I will never, ever, be using your services again.

One thing that really…read morestood out was how easy it was to communicate with the team ahead of time via yelp messages and their portal. I was able to message with someone online to coordinate details and even adjust our move as plans shifted, which made the whole process much less stressful. On moving day, our crew was incredible. Andy, Miraj, Muha, Tatty, and Aibar were kind, efficient, and thoughtful throughout the entire day. They worked hard, stayed positive, and handled everything with care. You could tell they were experienced and really took pride in doing a good job. Moving can be chaotic, but this team made it feel organized and smooth. Well worth the cost we had a ton to move. We're so grateful for their help and would absolutely recommend them to anyone planning a move.

Two Asian dudes showed up, barely spoke to me, one would only speak his own language while the other would then speak to me in English. They rudely took pics of my apartment, then went and sat back in their truck. After about 20 minutes, the guys came out and said they couldn't do the move because it was "unsafe". Prior to that it was because I had too many small items, and in between that I was told it was because I asked for 3 hours and they'd need 7-9 hours. I called dispatch again and told Karina she sent me two racist movers. She claimed that couldn't be. I explained my stance and she said she'd call me back. Meanwhile, I have no way to move my stuff. Karina said she would talk with her moving team and call me back. Guess what? She never did. I guess you get great service when you have the right skin color. Move your stuff yourself and save the headache. The worst company ever and I don't see how Yelp recommends them. I'm disgusted.

They got right to work and tirelessly helped clean out so much stuff that we wound up with a space so tidy and organized it feels like an entirely different home. We can actually find the things we own and our space is so transformed it was quite literally shocking. We had our pet pass the week before and we wanted all associated items donated to folks with a pet. And that's part of their wonderful service. Recyclable items are recycled. Donatable items are donated, they even get a receipt for the items to itemize on your taxes. We would heartily recommend their services to anyone stuck in place that no longer feels like home.

Erin and Kelsey had the full day where we went through my hallway closet, kitchen, side cabinets and bathroom. They did such an amazing job helping me go through everything, donate and trash what I had to. They organize it all in the right spots and have options for bins and such (they aren't pushy on that, so it's totally your call what works for you). They worked so hard and I appreciated it. Day two I had Kelsey again and Hailey joined to help with my bedroom and closets. I have never felt so happy in my own home before! It is amazing how much space I have now that I only kept what I use and got it organized with help. I'd recommend this service to everyone if you can. The price was fair given the work and results.
