Michelle who runs the office is so pleasant to deal with and John the owner and both Scotts so engaging, fun, and respectful of women. The superstar (well, they all are) is James who ran the move seamlessly, as usual. At the end, I would gladly have all of them over for dinner. The crew was just superb. When the work was done 60 minutes later, I was charged more than 4 times what I'd expected. NEVER AGAIN. ZOOM forward to 2026 and I learned of the NEW Freedom Propane, bought by a larger family-owned business. Well, it's a WORLD of difference. I needed to change a cut line from a gas stove to instead extend it to a portable generator spot, add a quick-connect valve and hose. Tom visited, gave me a quote on the job and clearly explained the basis for the quote. NO SURPRISES, unlike the 2022 experience. I agreed to the quote and Cory came the following week. He explained clearly what he'd be doing, worked efficiently, retested ALL the lines. The work was done cleanly, the plantings near the house were worked around, and both Tom and Cory were friendly and well-mannered. Tom & Cory completely renewed my faith in Freedom Propane. Freedom Propane has been my propane provider for many years…read more They were recently acquired by Combined Energy Services of Monticello I was on automatic delivery and ran out of propane while cooking dinner. In addition I was without propane to cook for two days , I suggested a simple pony bottle and was promised delivery the next day. It never happened. I called Combined Energy and asked for a credit of 25 dollars for my ruined dinner. They said they would not issue a credit. It was a take or leave it approach . Not the best way to introduce itself.

Leona and the other staff there were efficient and even gave me a tour plus an explanation of how the shop works. I have been literally throwing money away by recycling my bottles at the transfer station or forgetting to use the little credit receipts that I get from the supermarket machines until now. This was easy and I got the deposit money back from soda cans, wine bottles and beers all in one place. Some of my items did not have return value in NY and Leona was careful to show me how to check which could be redeemed and which could not without being dismissive or rude about it and was clear about counting and adding up my returns. This was a simple way to reduce waste into the landfill plus get back my deposit money for all my cans and bottles. I highly recommend.

Bill is very flexible and is able to fork around your schedule. I had to cancel, a couple of days ago, just a couple hours prior and Bill was able to work with me. I always appreciate his friendly approach to his work. He and his team are very efficient, work quickly, yet try to recycle or find new homes for as much as he can. He has a number of contacts where he can try to give your items away. It takes extra effort to do this and Bill takes the time to do what is right for all parties.
