(Old) Freedom Propane owned my 50-gal tank when I moved in. So in 2022, I had them add split off a line for a gas grill, and was told it would be ~1 hr job and their charge per hour. When the work was done 60 minutes later, I was charged more than 4 times what I'd expected. NEVER AGAIN. ZOOM forward to 2026 and I learned of the NEW Freedom Propane, bought by a larger family-owned business. Well, it's a WORLD of difference. I needed to change a cut line from a gas stove to instead extend it to a portable generator spot, add a quick-connect valve and hose. Tom visited, gave me a quote on the job and clearly explained the basis for the quote. NO SURPRISES, unlike the 2022 experience. I agreed to the quote and Cory came the following week. He explained clearly what he'd be doing, worked efficiently, retested ALL the lines. The work was done cleanly, the plantings near the house were worked around, and both Tom and Cory were friendly and well-mannered. Tom & Cory completely renewed my faith in Freedom Propane. Freedom Propane has been my propane provider for many years. They were recently acquired by Combined Energy Services of Monticello I was on automatic delivery and ran out of propane while cooking dinner. In addition I was without propane to cook for two days , I suggested a simple pony bottle and was promised delivery the next day. It never happened. I called Combined Energy and asked for a credit of 25 dollars for my ruined dinner. They said they would not issue a credit. It was a take or leave it approach . 'Freedom' is a highly ironic name for this company. I ordered propane from this company and told them that I was only using it for cooking. They installed a tank and charge me a very high price for the propane because it is for cooking only--this is understandable and expected. Soon after, I received a bill for $40 for low usage. When I questioned the bill and didn't pay, they sent a guy over to lock my tank. I am just going to buy my own tank so that I can actually have 'freedom'. With my own tank I will pay a fraction of the price for fuel not have these goons shaking me down. If you want to use a reputable company for delivery, I have had very good experience with Nolan Propane. If you want to purchase your own tank, try Cryo-Weld in Lake Katrine. read more

Worst people ever. They put my tanks on my mean neighbors property. Were very rude cause the customer complained all weekend. Told them not to do that. They discontinued my service after 15 years. Rude arrogant no customer service skills. I had had surgery and was not feeling well. They insisted on coming . Please go somewhere else . read more

I had to get a new stove connected. Freedom Propane found the conversion kit and made time in their busy schedule to come and set this up for me at our mutual convenience. They did a great job, wore masks and were very professional. Service is improved 100%. read more

Generally speaking , from a service point of view they are pretty weak. They are evry quick to bill and very slow to correct.

Absolutely atrocious customer service. Downright rude and mean. I would never want to rely on this company for such a vital service.

Horrible service ... and they're thieves to boot. Not only did they charge me exorbitant fees for propane of $4.69/gal, (because I'm considered a "low use" customer), but then they tried to charge me a "tank rental fee" of another $40/year on top of that. So I said no. But then when I cancelled my service with them and asked them to pick up their tank, I asked them for a refund of the 18 gallons still left in the tank, and they said sure, "after we charge you the $89 pick up and pump out fee"! So of course, if I paid that fee it would eat up the entire $82 refund I would get for the gas ... and I'd owe them money! Their answer to all of this was, "well, it was in the agreement you signed". Right. FYI, I switched to Love Effron ... no tank fee, no installation fee, and a $1.79/gal for gas! read more

I've used Freedom Propane for almost a year. a couple of months ago, after a delivery, I detected a slight odor of gas as I was going into the house. I followed the smell and discovered a small leak at the tanks and, upon checking the gauges, I determined that some gas had escaped. I called the office after hours. Less than an hour later, someone was working on fixing the leak. The next day, they sent a truck to replace the lost gas. Paul (the owner) agreed to a reasonable credit for the lost gas, no problem. I am not, in any way, affiliated with Freedom Propane. I am just a very satisfied customer. I only came on the internet to find their fax number and noticed a complaint forum. The reason I was looking for their fax number is because I intend to send them a fax (because the office is closed now and I just got out of the hospital) to advise them that I will pay my bill (which is a couple of dollars shy of eight hundred and nearly two months past due...and only two messages and I haven't been able to call them yet) when Social Security lands about the second of the month. The only reason I am posting this is to respond to the other comments that I just read. I guess I must be the exception to the rule. So, in response to your comments, I have one of my own: perhaps...and this is only a 'perhaps'...but maybe you owe them more than I do. read more

This company is a ripoff! They did the same thing to us. We owed them 18.00 low usage fee in which I was to add to my next delivery!!! I came home after being away for 2 weeks to my tank missing! They are rude and completely unprofessional! I will never give them business again and will also be sure to let other new neighbors and friends how ignorant they are both to services and customers!!! read more

I find the service exceptional. I lost power on Thanksgiving and the generator worked for a while, then stopped working. They came out within two hours of the call and got me back up and running within 30 minutes. The next day they came out and topped off my generator propane tanks.
