*** Wesley Chapel Location *** Raised my rental price after 3 months of storage by $100 - Rented online and was NEVER informed that the rate I was given was "promotional". Received a 30 day notice (which is referenced in the contract), but it is completely misleading to give customers a rate that is not specified as "promotional" - only to defend the raise by saying it was. This is the definition of "false advertisement" .... give customers the full information "upfront" so that we can make an informed decision about your facility ..... BUT, I'm sure if they told everyone upfront that the pricing was / is promotional that would hurt sales. Moving out before the pricing increase takes effect - to a facility also within the same vicinity. read more

The friendliness of the office staff has been the only positive experience with this business. The constant increase in rent is absolutely ridiculous. I understand that it is month-to-month rentals, but in today's economy to have the audacity to double rent borders on criminal. But my biggest problem is the fact that there have been no working elevators for at least a month. Our unit is on the third floor. not everything that I have can be brought down via stairs. I am also not a younger person. This makes it extra difficult when you factor in my age. We aren't just paying for rental space. We are paying to have access to our belongings. Every time I call the office I just keep getting excuse after excuse and blame keeps falling on the service manager. And through all this, there has been no compensation made to our accounts. The elevators need to be fixed immediately. And anyone that is not on a first floor should have their accounts compensated accordingly. I had plans to move quite a few things in and out of my unit this weekend and as of now I am being told that I can't. this is basically them holding our belongings hostage at their own negligence. read more

Horrible customer service! I had a reservation with Life Storage to begin tomorrow. I received a call TODAY telling me my reservation would NO LONGER be honored as Life Storage has now been bought out. How do you NOT allow previous reservations to be upheld when people are coming from out of town tomorrow to move?!? There was no empathy or support for another alternative, just sorry and you have to call extra space to make a new reservation. I REFUSE to support a company who obviously does not care about retaining customers. read more

Measure your unit!! I rented what was listed as a 5x8 unit but upon move in discovered it was a 5x6 true size. The manager also measured and confirmed the true size. He then adjusted the monthly cost down after consulting with a regional mgr. All was good for 2 years. Then on 5/16/22 I receive word that my rent will double! I called and questioned the new manager about the increase and reminded him that I do not have a 5x8 unit and should not be charged for one. I was told that because my unit is located in a section of 5x8 units, the computer "can't be adjusted" to reflect the true size. It also "didn't look good" that the regional mgr or "corporate" would approve a discounted rent equivalent to the true size of 5x6 unit. After discussion with the regional manager, who stated the same info as the local mg, (and added that unit sizes are "approximate" to what is listed), I decided to post this review. Being required to pay more for a unit (5x6) that isn't equivalent to the cost of the stated size (5x8) is unethical if not "bait & switch" tactics. Advocate for yourself if your unit is way undersized and you are not being charged correctly. Contact the BBB, local and state consumer affairs offices and/or your local TV consumer affairs reporter. read more

I chose this location primarily due to so many favorable online reviews. I made my reservation online and promptly received a call from Jesmarie. When I went in to view the unit and (electronically) sign my contract, the whole experience was positive. When Jesmarie took me to view the unit, I remember thinking this is the cleanest storage space I've ever seen. She immediately set up my security access and then walked with me to the security terminal to ensure everything was working properly. This was by far the best customer experience I've had with storage facility. read more
