Propane Ninja is one of the finest companies I have ever dealt with. The company itself and every person I was privileged to have contact with demonstrates personal concern, integrity and professionalism from start to finish. Specifically, that includes Xavier in sales, Ben the controller, Nicole in permitting and Haley in accounting. In the end, they didn't actually install propane tanks for me due to unexpected circumstances, but they persevered with me through several months of challenges (on my end, not theirs) and took care of me well. As soon as Xavier came to the house, I was impressed with him and with Propane Ninja. He was totally honest, provided expert guidance and did not try to talk me into anything. I paid an initial deposit of 50% of the contract price (standard practice), and then they pursued getting the permit from the City of Tampa. That turned out to be quite a challenge, due to the unique situation with my lot and the desired location of the tanks and generator (another company was handling the generator installation). The reason I needed a backup generator was due to my wife's serious health issues. In the process of me pursuing a "design exception" with the City of Tampa in order to try to get the permits approved, my wife unexpectedly passed away. And then I really didn't have a pressing need for a backup generator. Propane Ninja was gracious enough to agree to refund the full deposit I had paid them. Well, it turned out to be quite a challenge in order to actually make that happen, not because of any problem on their end, but again, on mine. Basically, it had to do with the bank I had used to make the initial deposit and the bank's system not allowing a refund to come back into the account. But then "superhero" (as far as I'm concerned) Ben, the controller at Propane Ninja, jumped into the ring, and after trying multiple ways to get the refund processed, was ultimately able to make it happen! I can't say enough positive about the folks at Propane Ninja. There just aren't very many companies like this anymore, sadly, that take the kind of personal interest they do and have the willingness to persevere through every challenge in order to make sure the customer is taken care of. read more

More long and detailed explanation below, but bottom line is this is a company with significant internal communications and coordination issues. I was never provided a comprehensive list of what work I would need to subcontract nor who the responsible points of contact were to for each phase of the installation process. We had to call the front office and leave messages quite a bit for follow-up as they are not very proactive in keeping you up to date. Finally, they lock you into a five-year "ninja watch" contract for their monitoring equipment and delivery, then charge your credit card at $16.49 a month (which was specified in the contract). I can't say whether they're any better or worse than others out there, but this was my experience. I wanted a 500 gal underground tank install and had received several estimates. I went with Propane Ninja because they were competitive and were located close so I thought they were a smaller business. The biggest problem with this company is communication. Started with the contractor manager who surveyed my house for the estimate and talked me into them providing the tankless water heater. He never told me that the electrical and plumbing work were going to be my responsibility until I asked since it was also not referenced in the estimate (I could have purchased one for less from Home Depot and took care of installation on my timeline). The contractor manager also didn't inform me until I asked a couple weeks after going under contract that it would take 4-8 weeks to do the install from the time we went under contract. He tried to blame the county for the delay, but other companies told me they could start the work next week as the permitting process takes only a day. His survey had the tank in the wrong location and the gas stove lines run unnecessarily through the attic. On the day of installation, I was informed that they did not have a water heater available...30 days after taking my deposit for said equipment. I had to call several times to get someone to assure me it would be delivered the next day when my plumber was scheduled. When I contacted him about the water heater, his response was that he doesn't manage materials for the jobs. We still have to hire an electrician to wire the igniters because the plug provided wasn't long enough to reach the available outside outlet (something that probably could've been identified during the site survey). The reason I provided two stars over one is two people that we worked with that tried really hard to help out. First was Jose who did the installation, he identified that the lines didn't have to run the attic and other site survey errors that saved us time and pain. He was personable and professional and took pride in his work. The other was Tara who assisted us in identifying and rectifying billing errors. It took a month to get it right, and while she was too professional to identify the reason behind the delay, I'm pretty sure it was IT and staffing issues out of her control. read more

Great company, great service, no worries! Their sales representative Fransisco Carelli was friendly, knowledgeable and matched their competitor's price. The reason I choice Propane Ninja was because they have their own meter monitor the propane gas tank. They have better rating then their competition and I don't need to worry about looking at the meter each week. Scheduling a delivery is automated. In addition, using their app I can see the % of gas remaining in the tank and because I know the gas level, I can be assured there are no leaks and if there are they will fix it as part of their small monthly fee. read more

More importantly, HE LISTENED to my concerns and answered each and every one in turn. He even helped me with advice when having the tank from our previous service picked up and I was able to get their close out fees waived. I have had their service for 7 or 8 months now, and could not be happier. I Just called Francisco, to have a kitchen range plumbed for LP and not only did he remember me, but remembered the layout of our house and exactly what we needed. Im totally fed up with their billing department. I oversee my elderly parents who have this service. The bill is supposed to be charged to the credit card each month. I get a copy of their monthly invoices via email, telling me to pay the invoice. But wait, I thought she had it on auto pay? Well for the third time I called the billing department over this same issue to ask what was going on. I gave them the invoice number and the account number. The representative confirmed that the bill had been paid via the auto pay set up. I told the rep that that's not what the email says. She says that the email is a third party set up​ and that there is nothing they can do. The company must really think im stupid with that statement. I told her I wasn't buying that and have the company president give me a call as I have had it with these email wanting payment and im ready to chew his ask off over it. I told them there are other propane companies out there, and as of this review I'll be looking elsewhere for service. My mother is 92 with macular degeneration, my step dad is an invalid. None of us needs to be told to pay the bill again. I advised her that all the companies emails are now marked as spam. I'll be going with some other company, maybe Detwhilers. read more

Robert at Publix The Shoppes At Sunlake Centre....I'm writing to you regarding a situation I recently encountered using The Grill Like A Ninja program from your store. I recently joined the product and on two occasions have received full tanks that would not release gas to operate my fire pit. I returned both bottles and traded for new ones. These worked as expected. There is something about some of the bottles that DO NOT ALLOW the release of gas. Thanksfully, your team replaced each of the failed bottles with new ones that worked as expected as noted above. Obviously, it is an issue that I don't want to support ie.,having to return these defective bottles. I'm hoping you can contact Mike or Peter the proud owners of the Tampa based propane company to get this situation resolved. I am sending them a copy of this note as well. 4 bad valves in last year. I'm tired of picking up tank, hooking up to grill. Then returning to store. I tested this last tank on 2 different grills and a cooker. Does not work. Maybe you shouldn't paint your valves. I won't waste my time or money on Grill ninja again. read more

The response from the company said I needed underground installation and I do NOT. They just didn't listen and didn't care! Sorry you lost a star for being deaf to my needs. Also they tried to charge me $600 EXTRA for the installation by the Z'hills company! They referred me and thought they were entitled to be paid! OH NO!! I have known about Propane Ninja for about 5 years at least but I was only able to become a customer recently because my girlfriends mother bought a generator for her house in lutz and had to get a 500 gallon tank filled and establish services. I reached out to them after hours but left a message with the answering service and was promptly called back the following morning. Within minutes I was explained the ins and outs of the residential propane industry and had my quirky questions answered (thanks for your patience whomever you were!). We are beyond happy for calling Propane Ninja (they were actually the second out of 4 companies we called, but ninja were the first to call back). They do this Ninja Watch monitoring which is absolutely amazing because you get a mobile app on your phone that you can see how much gas you use and have in your tank- but most importantly is that propane ninja can see how much gas we have and then they proactively schedule a refill. FYI Propane tanks when and if they go to zero percent full they have to get a leak test done again so this monitoring service saves a ton of potential headaches and costs. 11/10 thanks for the continued support and I'm happy to also grille like a ninja as they say (because I also use their tanks on my own bbq at my house) read more
