Overdue review! I have very very fine and thin hair and always have since birth. I naturally have dirty blonde hair but I like my hair being bright blonde. For four years I trusted and loved Michael's magic work on my hair, and if it wasn't for moving 10+ hours away for college I would've never went to another hairstylist. Michael gave me a haircut today. This salon is clean and professional. Id like to come back for another haircut eventually.

Always easy for Michael to fit me in on random Saturdays for a trim. An extremely clean and comfortable place to get a haircut. The place is easy to get to, has good parking and the customer service is absolutely beyond any kind of reproach. Sherry is always extremely polite and friendly to speak with if she is the one to answer the phone. I don't know if it is just me, but I am a bit particular about who I allow to put scissors up to my head. No worries about this place at all. I came to her with a video on Instagram of a color I wanted (my hair is curly, so I had a hard time looking for someone who knows what they are doing) and knew EXACTLY what I wanted. I'd stay clear of this salon. Mike the owner admitted to over processing and damaging my hair during my appointment. I left the salon in tears with wet, damage hair that ranged in color from murky green to a blue/purple hue with tiger stripes. Mike not only over processed my hair with bleach, but left the toners on my hair for too long. During our appointment Mike acknowledging he messed up on my hair and began to re-tone it, only to make it worse. In a serious of multiple washing and chemical toners mike proceeded to damage my hair knowing the current state of my hair and the damage he did. Mike and sherry convinced me to come back to "fix" my hair. I returned a week later, only for mike to hand me over the counter products to use at home. (A shampoo, conditioner and leave in treatment.) This is the owners thought process of "fixing" their mistake. During our meeting for mike to "fix" my hair, he blamed the over processing on me wanting ash blonde hair. If this was indeed true, Mike being the "professional" of supposedly 15 years, should have more respect for the profession and his business to say that what I want is not good for my hair. On a side note, I have been blonde for eight years. His excuse for over processing my hair was nothing but a excuse. I walked into the salon with blonde hair and a inch of dark brown grow out. Mike only need to touch up my inch roots and tone the rest. How mike messed up my hair so terribly is beyond me. I believe it was a lack of carrying and being reckless. Mike had multiple appointments during my original appointment. He cut a mans hair and foiled another ladies whole head, all while leaving chemicals on my hair. Mike the owner, during my appointment showed he only carries about making profit not his clients or the integrity of their hair. This was my first appointment at the extravagance salon and will definitely be my last. I will be making a complaint to the California board of cosmetology. Please stay clear of this salon, the owners clearly showed their true motives of being business owners. read more

Have you been going to the same hair stylist for years? Uh huh...me too. You know, sometimes you just need to lose the fear and pull yourself out of going to "the-same-stylist-for-years" rut. Change is good, right? If you're ready to try someone new I would highly recommend my new lady, Karen. Not only is she nice and easy going, she's very patient and takes her time to get your haircut just right. Don't expect a slam bam, get in and get out salon experience. Just relax, drink some complimentary Peet's coffee, do some shopping in their boutique and enjoy. Karen is also an excellent colorist and even dyes eyebrows. read more

I rarely write reviews, but the people at this Salon aren't just stylists. They are students of their craft that keep up on the science of their art. And it shows. I came to Sherrie with a laundry list of concerns and complaints (including bald spots from post-operation hair loss and a head of scraggly curls). Sherrie spent 30-45 minutes with me at my first appointment. She conducted a thorough assessment of the state of my hair, asked a lot of questions, and developed a sort of "treatment plan" for my hair recovery. She even provided me samples of products that she thought could restore some health. Sherrie also listened to my color goals (which is to have brighter hair, but only have to come in every 2-3 months) and she nailed it by adding in low lights. I was STILL getting compliments on my color when I went back in 10 weeks later! And to top it all off, she was able to cut and layer my curls in a way that added volume over my bald areas and helped me feel less self-conscious. Now I'm five months past my first meeting with Sherrie and people have started commenting that my hair is looking fuller. Her treatment plan is working. :) So glad to have found her!! read more
