I brought my Tesla Model Y to Extreme Audio to upgrade the stereo system, and the experience exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The sound upgrade alone was worth it. The system sounds incredible, clean, powerful, and perfectly tuned. It completely transformed the driving experience. While working on the car, they also recommended some wiring improvements for my radar detector and phone charger setup. I agreed to move forward with it, and I am so glad I did. It eliminated the wires that had been draped along the floor and gave everything a clean, professional look. It made a huge difference in both appearance and functionality. Don't waste your time with Extreme Audio..... more like Extreme Incompetence. Due to the nature of the car, the radio/speakers had to be ordered. The guy brought up a website with retro-radios/speakers, we looked over the choices and agreed upon a system. WHY didn't he order it right then and there ????? INCOMPETENT. He was quick to collect a deposit ! Then, just as quick to set up the installation appointment - a week and a half out, because he stated, 'we'll need some time for the order to come in', DUH (first red flag). - I show up for the appointment, they collect my keys, pull the car in - and it sits..... I go for a walk in the area - two hours later they call me to say the system was never ordered. EXTREMEME INCOMPETENCE, don't waste your time, because they will definitely waste yours. read more

Banging! Literally....Bought my wife a new car and she hated the sound system, so I visited Extreme and they found the perfect solution. They were able to make the car feel like you're at a concert. They sold me one enclosed speaker with the amp all contained in a single box that fits perfectly in the back of the suv. Service was excellent, their new building and showroom is wonderful, and they had a quick turn around. They are not the cheapest but when someone is installing after market equipment into a $65k car I'd rather pay a little bit more and have it done right than a cheaper alternative. I highly disagree with every one star review here. I've had all 4 of my vehicles there for one thing or another. Tint, audio systems, paint corrections, almost every service they offer. Started going there when I was 16 with my first car and still going back with every vehicle I have gotten since and I'm 22 now. Tint is always professional and done right. People who are complaining that their tint job was done poorly, probably paid for the worst quality tint they have available. Audio systems have always been amazing and long lasting. I always go with JBL because of the quality. People complaining about bad audio system's probably paid for a bad quality system. Banging on speakers without letting them warm up then complaining they blew isn't comparable to using aftermarket speakers properly. Went from a 97 Camry with a full tint job and full custom audio set up (which still works today btw) to my new 2018 gmc sierra with a full tint job and custom audio system. They even stayed until 5:30 on a Saturday to get it done for me which is an hour and a half past when they close. Tint guy even brought me back into the shop to make sure I liked the positioning of the brow on the windshield. Nick is the man there and I always go right to him when I'm there. He wrote me 4 different quotes on different ideas we had for the custom box in my truck. Only criticism I have is yes it does take them more time than they initially say sometimes but it always comes out quality. Rushing them and being a dick will generally get you worse service and quality, since you rushed them. read more

Don't waste your time at this place. Went in for tints on my mazda, they broke my window switch in the process, they ordered the replacement piece, replaced it a day later but this is how i got my car back...there are dents like this on both window switches in the rear, as well as scratches like this all over the interior and exterior of the doors of my car. For the hefty price i paid for tints, i'm not happy with all these new cosmetic flaws and will definitely not be recommending this place to anyone. read more

Today was the final time I ever deal with these clowns again: FAIL #1: 2018 - I hired them to tint the windows on my new M5. The car was literally 48 hours old when I dropped it off. I arrived to pick it up and there was a fresh, 5 foot long scratch down the driver's side of the vehicle. When confronted, the guy behind the counter said one of his techs used to work at a body shop and could "buff it out". Needless to say, I was done having them damage my car for the day and had it professionally repaired. Not once did they offer to pay for the repair. FAIL #2: 2021 - I thought I would give them a 2nd chance and entrust them to tint my windows. This time on my new Express van. While the tint went on without damage to my vehicle, the film started to bubble and chip within the first 3 weeks. I took it back and showed them the problem. Of course, I was told the damage was either caused by my seatbelt or a mystery snag inside the door. Whatever. I tell them I just want it right and will gladly pay to have it re-done. They arrange a 3 pm appointment a week later and I show up promptly. At 4:55 pm (TWO HOURS LATER!) a young man approaches me and says "We can't find your vehicle". I look at him and and say "What TF do you mean you can't find my vehicle? I parked it right outside the front door. You watched me get out of it!" And he replies "Ohhhh. We're looking for a black BMW?" "CHEESE & RICE, DUDE! Like I'll EVER bring the black BMW back here!" Then the dude behind the counter starts in and it goes straight down the toilet from there. He LOVES to be told to FO, so make sure and tell him I said HI! Needless to say, my van window didn't get repaired and I was reassured that they totally suck at what they do. If you want to waste a ton of time, get sold inferior tint, have awful labor quality and zero customer service, definitely go to Extreme! They won't let you down! read more

I've been there three times and have never left satisfied. The first time they installed an aftermarket radio. When they told me my truck was ready to be picked up, I came fifteen minutes later but then had to wait another hour for it. The kicker is they didn't plug the heat controls back in. When I called to have them fix it, they couldn't get me in for two weeks and this was during the winter. So I then had to tear my dash apart and fix it myself. The second time I went was when I couldn't get my subwoofer to work. I installed it myself, had all the wires ran and the work done. They charged me $150 to do the subwoofer install even though I already installed it and did all the work, I just needed them to take a look and see why it wasn't working. The third time I went was when my backup camera stopped working. They charged me $35 just to tell me the camera was bad. I will probably not go back there. Their staff are competent and nice. But they overcharge, don't have very good customer service and spend too much time goofing around behind the counter. read more

I had the best experience with Extreme Car Audio today. I was having issues with my control panel for my heat/air and I wasn't able to use any of the functions. Pablo was very helpful and came up with solutions on what to try so that we could hopefully get it to work. I had been to three other places earlier in the day and they all just told me they couldn't help and to go somewhere else so I am very grateful Pablo took the time and look at the problem I was having. I definitely echo Aaron's experience at Extreme Auto. I seldom go there but I always leave shaking my head. The sales people do not seem interested in talking unless you are ready to buy. They are not interested in offering information. I am the type who wants to know exactly what I am getting and how it works. My impression is Extreme does not want to be questioned and would prefer to sell a black box and for their customer to be totally dependent on them when something goes kaput. I've yet to have a positive experience with anyone there. That is why I just go to Crutchfield online when I need electronics for my car. I find them very helpful and informative. Crutchfield makes my experience with them painless. So far I have purchased 2 car stereos from them and they were a breeze to install with their help. read more

The unit isn't ready for prime time and the Brand Motion engineers need to go back to the development people with their latest ADA system. However, that has no bearing on the absolute best efforts from Extreme Auto Audio in trying to vainly make the unit function. It did, brieftly. I rc'd. full credit for my out-of-pocket costs on this, approaching $1k. read more

My husband and son dropped my car off at 2pm (with an appt.) to get a 2-inch hitch put on. They were told it would take about an hour. They came back at 3:45 and they hadn't even started it yet! The 3 of us went back at 5:30 and the guy was standing behind the car, waving his foot, trying to get the sensor for the back door to work. We walked in and could see the guy still waving his foot under the bumper, and then he hauls off and KICKS my car because he couldn't get it to work! When I confronted him, he claimed he only kicked the trailer hitch he had just installed. The manager walked out to "talk" to the guy about it and came in and told me the same thing. When we had first walked in, the manager (Nick) told us the guy was done and was just cleaning up. A half-hour later, I said, "I thought you said he was done?" The manager says, "He didn't realize he was going to come across a problem with it." Um, I could tell he was having problems when we walked in, dude! Then he says, "He didn't drop it off until 3pm anyway, and I told him we were running behind." Ah, yet another lie. At no point did he call to say they were running behind. This place was recommended to us by the Honda dealer where we had just bought the car, but there is no way in hell I will ever go back to them for anything. Not only did they lie to my face more than once, their employees apparently cannot control their frustrations and will take it out on your car. Even though his foot might have landed on the hitch, that is NOT how you treat other people's things, nor does it look professional. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! read more

I picked out and paid for a remote start on my truck. Day of they called to offer me a free 'upgrade' to drone service. Start car from cell phone. Catch? They didnt mention this free upgrade costs $7 a month forever. They didn't mention this monthly fee until after I was in the store to pick up my truck. Now I'm late for a 6 PM appointment because they have to install the original device as ordered. It is a scam that I am happy I realized before leaving, but it is wasting my time. I 've been here twice, the first time I visited I walked in and the place was steady, all prospective customers being helped. I browsed product (a mediocre selection of brand name gear) and took note of pricing. I left after fifteen minutes without being asked if I had any questions, in their defense I didn't need anything. The second time I was trying to find out a way to replace my 5X7 speakers in my rear seat with 6X9's. I had read online and heard of an adapter, thinking to ask Extreme Audio if they had heard or knew of such a preexisting product. Extreme Audio does afterall pride themselves on being the place in West Michigan for custom audio. When I went in I was also interested in purchasing 6X9 speakers and continued my search from the previous visit. I browsed for a good 20 minutes in a customerless store, while watching and listening to four service rep's stand around and talk about their drunken debauchery and personal conquests from the Saturday night before. I asked about the 5X7 - 6X9 adapter I needed, they reassured me the only way to complete my task was to take a grinder and cut the steel speaker hole bigger. Then they threw an astronomical labor cost at me to do the work. I felt like I was being "sold" a service by greasers. I left annoyed, went home, and found the adapter that "didn't exist" on Ebay. I wanted to go back after receiving the product and show them it existed, but knew in the long run it might help their business. Sorry extreme audio, your poor customer service, astronomical labor costs,and poor knowledge of current product in the store and out on the market has lost, hopefully, more customers than just myself. read more

I'm a college student that does car audio as a hobby. Extreme Car Audio was a place I hoped I could become a "regular" at - build some connections, be known by name, and have them be the sole supplier of everything that goes in my car. Unfortunately, after repeated trips to this store I still leave empty-handed and frustrated. The sales staff is impersonal and dismissive if you're not ready to buy something immediately, and often seems more interested with hanging out behind the sales counter than helping customers on the floor. I've yet to have a positive experience with anyone there. I have invested thousands of dollars into my truck's stereo, and none of it came from Extreme Car Audio. Very disappointing :( read more

Brought my Infiniti g35 there to have a complete new system installed. New speakers, wiring, amps, subs, jl cleansweep, and even had them install window tint and sound deadening in the doors. 2 weeks later I brought it back for problems. Apparently a ground wire came loose. The next day I head rattling coming from the front dash. Brought my new car back to the dealer and a cover plate was missing. I called extreme car audio and they had not seen my missing dash panel... on my new car... that had never been serviced anywhere else. Infiniti graciously replaced it for me for free. Brought the car back to extreme car audio a couple months later because of speakers having static and cutting out. They could not duplicate the problem and sent me on my way. A month later it was getting worse so I brought the car back again. They claimed my front speakers were tested and came back blown. I knew this was not the problem, as sometimes the speakers work fine and sometimes they just cut out, almost as if there is a loose wire somewhere. Whatever, I let them replace the front speakers... at my cost since it had been over a year now and the speakers were out of warranty. The next day.... yup... same problem. Only now it's not just the front speakers. I'll hit a bump and the sub will cut out, or the drivers side, or the passenger side, or ill just get static. Oh, and I had those "bad" speakers tested somewhere else. They are fine. I'm done with them. At this point I dont want them touching my car anymore. AVOID THESE PEOPLE! THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING! edit: oh yes, one more thing I forgot... there is a clunking sound when I roll my window down. I have had two vehicles tinted at extreme, and they do an Amazing job. I drove 140 miles to have them do the work on my car. I have not seen anyone who can match there quality and speed. Tinted my brand new 13' Fusion Hybrid in less than 2 hours (from me walking in the door to me getting my keys back). I DO NOT HAVE ONE BAD THING TO SAY ABOUT EXTREME. Very competitive pricing also. Worst business I've ever experience. So this is my first Experience with ( extreme car audio on 28th st. ) I was excited i recessive my new touch Kentwood car stereo. So since i didn't wanted to waste time in installing it, I've decided to pay someone to install it for me. First i call. I called and they gave me a fair price. to install and after accessories ( $169) , okay not bad. The read down here. So as i walk inn there was 3 people in front. one was helping a customer, and the other two where just in the computer. i don't know what they had going on. But no one said anything in-till 30 min later. So they ask me what can they so for me, and i told them i called, and what i needed to be done, just a simple.. Now i ask for how much is going to be again, and they say Now is ($269.74 ) i ask why so much, when i called it was only " $169.00 " ,, " oh because the installment is 2 hours long". plus the accessories & Tax. . No i just did not pay them $269, but also waited for almost 5 hours to get it done. at the end there was a high loud noise on it while volume down. So i had to spent $40 more for some stupid cheap equipment. Then i pay them another $180 to uninstall it. So at the end, i was just piss, so i left after they took out my stereo. When i get home, NONE of my accessories i bought was in my car. So i called inn to ask what happen to my stuff, and they said they will call back next morning due to the guy who install it wasn't there. so i said okay.. Next morning. NO CALL BACK,, SO I WAITED ALL DAY, AND STILL NO CALL. I call the next day and the GM or the dude who install the stereo wasn't there again.. At the end i got not just rip off, but i got rub. I was reluctant to go here based on the reviews. I first called them up, and was able to get an appointment immediately that afternoon. I was helped immediately upon entering the facility. The sales people were very nice, and did not try to sell me anything I wasn't looking for. I walked out with a very nice Alpine radio for my car. A week later the radio was having some problems. I managed to do some basic troubleshooting procedures, but could not figure it out. Once again, I called them up and was immediately fit into their schedule. They ended up replacing my entire radio free of charge, no questions asked. It only took them about 30 minutes too. They also said that my warranty was still good. For those complaining about not being helped, I would recommend setting an appointment up. It only takes 2 minutes. read more

I've used them twice. Years ago to put a remote starter in my wife's car. I had to take it back twice because it wouldn't unlock properly. Then I had a stereo installed 2 years ago in my boat. It took forever to get sales assistance and they had my boat an additional 6 hours longer than they said. If you tell me it will be done by noon and I come back at 12:30 and you haven't started it, that is a way to P me off. I know the owner and it felt as though he had made his money and knew there were be more people coming in the door after I left. Sad. read more

I am dis-appointed to say I had a weird experience at Extreme Car Audio..I was told that these guys can help but on the contrary they wanted me to do what they wanted and not what I wanted...I wanted a back-up camera to be installed on my vehicle and I wanted to go with a after market but Extreme insisted to go with a very very expensive option and when I tossed my idea the guy was like Verbatim "I am not interested to explore your options because there is already one out there" - If I have to go with this guys option allegedly what ever he is proposing then why the f**k should I be at this rag tag place to begin with as I could go to the dealer also when I asked for a solution for my running board dilemma I was told there was no solution from this genius of a puss but was told that why don't I use a plastic sheet to resolve my issue which was a very very cheap F***ing alternative so anyways I will stay away from this place as they have no clue what they are doing especially for high end cars and don't be fooled by the Lambo pic it's sure may be a rental..LoL read more

Avoid at all cost, The worst business in Grand Rapids, I waited for more than 7 hours to get a remote starter installed even though it was scheduled a week before . They serve their friends first.
