    Halibut fish tacos

We saw this on Yelp and decided to give it a try. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small place with indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We chose inside and were waited on right away. I had the hot chicken burger and my wife had the fish tacos. Bother were excellent! The hot chicken had great flavor and not too hot. The fish tacos were great as well! Fries were fresh and crisp. We'll definitely be back if we ever travel through again.

Wow this place was fantastic. REAL bacon on the Caesar salad. The burger was delicious. Would highly recommend this place. This was my 2nd time in Parksville and 2nd time having dinner at this restaurant. Service has been great and the burgers very juicy with lots of toppings.

Fantastic! both in food and in service. Location is good too, you can eat in or out. We tried the fish- cod tacos, so good.( as a past restaurant owner, we know the benefits of clean oil in the fryer-the oil was clean as there was not much grease on the fries at all- very crisp and tasty. oh boy - great happy hour special also! Our new favorite place!

good burgers, good fries, onion rings, poutine. The king Cesar should go viral all on its own. Nice patio and friendly service. Kind of hard to find but high quality food in a low key setting well worth it!

Although there are many variations with different toppings these days, just like poke, my favorite way is still the classic Quebecoise poutine just loaded with squeaky curds and gravy. The large is enough for two to share, unless you plan on making it your entire meal which I wouldn't judge especially since you can't find ones with the squeaky curds back in the US.

I haven't had poutine since moving from Detroit a year ago. Seeing a place named "L'Authentique" -…read morewell, it has to be good right? This restaurant is essentially a small shack on the waterfront level with some outdoor picnic table seating. It's conveniently located next to a large pay lot, so there's plenty of parking. When we stopped by after driving off the ferry on a Friday evening, it was relatively quiet and we were able to place our order with only one party ahead. Since the fries are freshly fried, it took a couple of minutes to assemble. Classic Poutine, Large ($15 CAD) - As a classic poutine, this is a pretty simple dish. The fries are clearly fresh cut, with even a little potato heel in the mix. They are cleanly double fried, allowing the requisite tenderness on the interior combined with the crisp exterior, even holding up to the gravy poured over the top. The gravy is pretty standard. It seems to be from a powdered base, so it's mainly there to contribute sodium rather than any robust beefy or vegetal flavors. They add a ton of cheese curds on top, enough to cover the entire surface of the metal tray the poutine comes in. The curds are fresh, milky tasting, and fabulously squeaky. They are still distinct with some substance instead of being melted into a puddle from the hot gravy. (4/5) While I can't really compare L'Authentique to anything in Montreal (seeing that I've never visited), I thought it was pretty good. It's clearly good enough to satisfy my poutine craving at least! Washrooms - No public ones, but if it's not too busy, the staff allows customers to use the staff washroom.

Goat Jack's was a former White Spot which was renovated for new ownership. Unfortunately shortly before they were to reopen a truck was left in neutral at the top of the parking lot and rolled down the slope crashing into the newly renovated restaurant. Thankfully repairs were done and Jacks opened. It's a nice space, maybe a little dark, but with a bright bar area. We were quickly seated in the back left in a very large booth for the four of us. The menu features wings, but has other offerings as well. The lovely K ordered the wings with hot sauce and the nachos, neither of which she found to be very good. I had the BBQ burger, and fries, both of which were pretty good. Taste is a personal matter, but service isn't, and our server was excellent. Her only faux pas was filled our friend's Mike's Hard lemonade glass with water when it was almost empty while she had a full water glass beside. She apologized program's fetched Val another Mike's on the house. The four was more about the service than the food, but again taste is a personal thing, but you can't beat great service. They just have to get the food up a half a notch in our opinion.

When we got back from an adventure at Butchart Gardens, we stopped by for dessert! We got the Hazel Amour and it was enough for us to share. There are so many offers and combinations that I could see us coming back here the next time we're back in BC. If you're staying in Victoria, this place gets a little crazier when the cruise ships are docked. There are only a few tables outside so it's perfect on a sunny day or if you plan to explore the city with a treat in hand.

This is located on a main strip in Victoria - and I was happy to see it. I'd only had it in Ottawa. They have others in BC just not in Vancouver. It's a small stand so it's tight but it opens to the street so it feels bigger. On your birthday, you get a free beaver tail which retails probably closer to $10. You get to have the original but my favorite favorite flavor is the original with a lemon on it so they gave that to us for free for my mom's birthday. You must visit the spot if you're in Victoria yes it is a little touristy, but it is a very good product and the staff is super friendly.
