"Good training is not free and free training is not good" This school is worth every dime and in my option it is a bargain for the type of training you get at other places this school would be super expensive. This is a world class type of gym with the main instructor being a black belt under master Carlos Machado. I have been with the school for a little more than a year and i can say that without a doubt it is the best place in the panhandle to learn Brazilian Jiu jitsu, kickboxing, MMA (because there is a difference). Alsothe best place to have your kids learn leadership, etiquette, responsibility, and important life lessons. So you don't have anything to fear when you come to the amazing place to learn, be it yourself, your kids or both. That is because the instructors are all world champions and do not hesitate to share everything they have learned over the years. This place is amazing. The attention and care they give to each student is impressive and un-matched. My son has been going here for years now and the only complaint I get is that he is tired after class (as he should be). They push each student in a positive but forceful way. Yelling is not even close to their teaching style. I wish there was a place like this when I was a kid. My son is strong, capable and confident because of the way they teach him. I am never worried about him being bullied or being the bully because of what he has learned. Overall this has been an amazing experience. I lost 35 pounds at EMA. Starting with the stat most want to hear. I did not join the team to lose weight or get in shape really. I worked out regularly, ate semi okay, thought I was in relatively good shape compared to most people. My goal was to learn to fight still is. I've learned a lot but still have a long way to go. After almost two years of training and following the guidance of the coaches, I am surprised by the complements on how my body has changed, wasn't something I was tracking. When I started thinking about martial arts for my son I wanted somewhere where he would learn to defend himself but I did not want the "Cobra Kai" mentality. He has been attending classes now and he loves it! The instructors are amazing with the kids and they teach them great life lessons as well as how to defend themselves. I have recently joined the family class with my son and it is a workout! My daughter attends the gymnastics program too. There really is something for everyone. The new location is huge so there's pleanty of room to train. They also allow the kids to have a lot of fun. They host Nerf Nights, potlucks and all sorts of things. It really is a great place. After hearing from multiple people about Extreme Martial Arts I decided to check it out. I have been interested in Jiu Jitsu since I was young, but as far as I am aware this is one of if not the first to offer a place to learn and train in this art in Amarillo. We have been going to EMA since 2020. We started with 1 child and now have all 3 enrolled. My husband even started attending! This is a great environment with excellent staff that are willing to go above and beyond. Just let them know if you have and problems! The kids get to have positive reinforcement and play games while also learning new techniques and discipline. He does a great job of building wonderful and respected martial artists.
