    Coolant leak
    Levi D.

I've taken my f350 for about 13 years now. Dave has always been helpful and honest. Last week I had a steering box and pump replaced, cost me a little more than the alignment shop quoted but I figured I have history here and I trust them. They replaced the belt as well because it was bad.The following week my belt sheared and they couldn't get me in until Friday. Shelby called and said it was nothing they did but a tensioner pulley was bad. Quoted me 617.00. I couldn't afford this so I declined and picked the truck up after hours. Now not only is my belt shearing I have a major coolant leak that wasn't there before. Like I said Dave has always been great to deal with but this entire experience has been very negative and has been a lesson learned in my wallet. This is my latest experience with them so use your own judgment. Update: they bolts that hold my radiator Shroud were not installed and missing, the clips to hold down cover are missing and cover torn. UPDATE: they tore my radiator hose causing the coolant leak, broke to fan Shroud bolts that hold it to the block. I replaced the old belt they said they replaced and the power steering pump ( that they installed) was loose thus causing the issue. Now I have a few broken parts and missing parts the dont effect the drive but cosmetically looks terrible. I dont know who did the work but it was not done correctly or with care to my truck.

I had Dave and his crew change out the XREAS shocks on my gen5 4Runner. Dave set me up with an appointment,(about 2 weeks out), and did a great job on my 4Runner. I chose to keep the same height but did level the front up an inch. Shame on you Toyota for designing an awful unserviceable shock system! Thank you Dave and crew for a reasonable solution. Pay with cash and save sum $.

I've been an off-road enthusiast for years. Having a reliable off-road vehicle is a must. Since I use one of my vehicles as a daily driver, it is even more essential to keep up on the maintenance. After a long trip my Jeep developed an annoying noise and I was losing power. Figured it had to be a drive-train issue. Sure enough, after having my Jeep towed to Extreme Off-Road out of fear of further damage, it took them about 2 minutes to figure out the problem. Sure enough, a bad CV joint, but it didn't end there. Their staff did a thorough once over and found a cracked radiator. The cracked was so miniscule only a trained individual would have found it. And if a radiator gets bad enough, well you know the outcome. A possible cracked engine block. I was thankful they went the extra mile to do a complete check. They potentially saved me thousands. While waiting, I noticed the extent of work. From basic upgrades to frame work, and spring over axle jobs. Finding this gem of a place was a God send.

I came into the shop a few weeks ago looking to add some performance parts to my truck. Beforehand I had spoken to Dave multiple times about what I was looking for. He answered all of my questions and did a very good job at explaining how to proceed and put everything into laymans terms. They also did some minor work when I was having clearance issues. I called and was helped the same day. My truck is performing much better! I will be returning. I highly recommend having work done here.

The were very knowledgeable with Jeep's and other off road vehicles. They now work on side by sides.

Where to start?!? How about the beginning?…read more I purchased a 1968 Pontiac GTO about 3 months ago and was looking to bring it somewhere to have a lot of different things done. I didn't really know exactly what I wanted to do as there are a lot of different directions one can go when finishing a classic car. After calling around to various shops and being told it would be months before they could do any work for me I found Mark at Tailored Customs. Firstly, not only was he excited for me and my newly acquired GTO, he was extremely helpful in helping me decide what upgrades would be within my budget and make the biggest impact on the build. Probably 10 hours. What's that? That's my estimate of the time he spent with me on the phone and over text messages before the work even began! Total charge? $0. Not only did he help me make the best decisions regarding what upgrades to do, he rolled with the punches when I changed my mind (multiple times) and still hadn't charged me a dime. I know many people that are reading this review might think to themselves "that's just part of doing this type of business" and to a certain degree it is. Not to this degree though. Trust me I've done the research and automotive advice isn't free. Having someone you can call when you have questions is a billable service that I was lucky enough to get for free. All of that was before the work even started which as many can attest starts with ordering parts. Not only did Mark handle ordering everything for me (again I understand that's a part of doing this type of business) but he didn't just find the easiest way to order things by buying kits to install everything (which is perfectly reasonable and typical). He found the most cost effective way to purchase all the parts even though that took extra time and effort on his part. There were a few parts I had already ordered myself and he took that in stride as well even though most shops want to order everything themselves (likely to charge you a mark up on the parts) but not Mark. He accepted the parts I already had and even helped me return some when I changed my mind about things (again) Once all the parts were in the work could begin and the communication from Mark was constant, professional and informative every step of the way. This guy even came in to make sure all was going well on my car just 2 days after having a surgery that was supposed to sideline him for weeks. What can I say, the guy is committed. At the end of the day we decided to install these major items and a ton of little things too numerous to mention, a new Dakota Digital guage set, tilt steering column, back up camera, transmission cooler (this is one of those added things that Mark just figured out in the fly for me), distributor (added later) and many other things. Probably 25-30 hours. What's that? My estimate of how many hours above and beyond Mark spent with me making sure I understood everything that was being done, why it was being done and discussing alternatives. That's not "normal" in my experience. That's above and beyond the call of duty and way more than I actually paid for. I'm not writing this because I expect Mark to do a bunch of things for free for me or anyone else. It's simply to illustrate the level of commitment Mark and the team at Tailored Customs shows when taking on small projects like mine and large projects like the ones I could see in progress every time I visited the shop to check in on progress and discuss things with the team. If you are looking to start a brand new build or finish a partially completed one, Mark and the team at Tailored Customs are definitely the ones to bring your highly prized classic car to in my opinion. They will treat your car like their own car and make sure you leave the shop satisfied and excited to get your classic car back on the road for years to come.

They have very reasonable rates especially for the quality of work they churn out. The owner is awesome and will do anything to keep his customers satisfied or on the road. The selfless service that they offer is so important to them that they opened their shop doors on EASTER afternoon the make sure that they got some folks SAFELY back on the road. Name another shop that will do that. . .I'll wait!!! I think that type of service speaks volumes to the dedication that is pricier with Tailored Customs. From motorcycles, trucks, cars and even BOAT TRAILERS; these folks will do it all. Please consider them if you're anywhere near their shop. I guarantee that you will be satisfied and taken care of.

Clovis Auto Shop - Friend needed repair & smog

    Clovis Auto Shop

    (192 reviews)

Dear potential Clovis Auto Shop customers,…read more I want to share my experience with one of the last truly honest auto shops in the greater Fresno/Clovis area. I live in Clovis, CA, and work as a traveling sales executive, which means my vehicle is essential to my job. I put a lot of miles on my cars and regularly rely on auto shops for both routine maintenance and repairs. That's why I feel confident recommending Clovis Auto Shop. They are an outstanding group of people--friendly, courteous, and straightforward in their communication. I've worked with Manuel, Raul, and the owner, Ron, and every interaction has been positive. Whether it's basic services like oil changes or more advanced work such as engine or transmission repairs, they consistently deliver high-quality service. What truly sets them apart, however, is their honesty and integrity. On several occasions, they have gone above and beyond in ways that many shops simply wouldn't. For example, I recently brought in my Ford Expedition because it wouldn't start. Initially, the issue was misdiagnosed, and an expensive engine procedure was performed. Once they realized the mistake, they immediately informed me and did not charge me for the unnecessary work. My bill dropped from nearly $1,000 to about $264. That level of honesty is rare--they could have easily charged me, and I would never have known. In the end, they correctly fixed the issue, and my car has been running perfectly. Another instance happened a few years ago with a different vehicle. Clovis Auto Shop installed a Jasper rebuilt engine with a 4-year/40,000-mile warranty. The engine failed early in the fourth year, even though the mileage was still low. Both the shop and I felt this was unusually premature. Instead of leaving me to deal with it on my own, they advocated on my behalf with Jasper and secured a very favorable deal on a replacement engine. They could have simply said "tough luck," but they didn't. Experiences like these are why I consider Clovis Auto Shop to be one of the most honest and reliable shops around. I recommend them without hesitation. For full transparency, I have no family or friends who own or work at the shop--I'm simply a loyal customer who appreciates great service. Thank you. Getting a smog check is honestly an inconvenient when you just want to pay for your car registration, but of course, I need to get an inspection first. Clovis Auto Shop makes the burden bearable. I did not make an appointment but I was in and out in 30 minutes. I waited in their clean waiting area that had a tv, complimentary coffee and snacks. The girl at the front desk was friendly and efficient. The cost was very reasonable. Out the door $55.
