A group of us decided to take an archery class. Boy have bows changed since I was a kid. I found the class to be very interesting. At first, after some instruction, I thought, no way, I can't do this. But with some encouragement I tried and didn't do so badly. The young lady Sam was very helpful and you can tell she knows her Archery. She was pleasant and really wanted us to feel comfortable and happy with our shots even if we did them poorly. The only negative thing I have is that she speaks so softly. So, either she has to have a louder voice, esp. with seniors or the shop has to turn down the music so we can hear her. Remember, some seniors can't hear. LOL The shop itself needs to put a fan in the shooting area or turn up the AC because it gets hot back there. It would be nice if water was available or whoever sets up the reservation is told to bring water. I am glad there were only five us. Anymore and it would have been uncomfortable. In total we were there about an hour and a half. Not bad for $20..We all agreed it was a good amount of time for first timers. Oh, the other thing to make sure the caller is told, and I don't know if this was done, but when we went in, our friend had open toe shoes on and that is a no, no. You must wear closed shoes. read more

I saw a YouTube video on this store and was interested in the store as a supply for my archery needs. I used to purchase single arrows to experiment with from a way larger store in PA, but they changed the policy to only dozen arrow sales. I was happy to find out that Extreme still sells single arrows. They might be a bit pricier, but it's worth it to experiment. If they don't have something you were looking for, they leave you a prompt voice message when it's back in stock. Outstanding customer service. Very reasonable minimum shipping, and a pretty good supply of basic items. I live too far away to comment on the in store experience but if I was in the area visiting, I would stop in. Great place for gear queers (like myself) can be a little expensive, but good quality gear and they greet everyone that comes in. If you see something in a book that they don't have and you leave your number for them to call when they get it in....I would recommend going into the store and checking. My son called late one night. His issue boots were causing foot problems and he'd ordered an approved aftermarket replacement. He wanted me to check the status of his order because he wouldn't be able to call during the hours the store was open and he had a two-week Field Exercise upcoming. This was on a Thursday night before a 3-day weekend. I called the store he'd ordered from on Friday morning and was told that his boots had been back ordered and would not be sent in time for the FieldEx. To make a long story short, I called Extreme Outfitters, talked to Danielle, who verified they had the boots in stock, then personally called FedEx to ask about expedited delivery over the 3-day weekend, and then expedited the order and shipping to hook my son up with the boots he needed in time for the FieldEx. When I thanked her, she said, "Happy to help a soldier. I know how it is. My husband does that too." Extreme Outfitters are great people. read more

Excitedly, I immediately placed my online order, only to receive a phone call shortly after stating my order had been canceled because they didnt have my size. Their online website is not an accurate reflection of their inventory, which from a consumer standpoint makes the site itself useless and irrelevant. I have ordered from the online store twice and have had mixed experiences, mostly negative. Email communication is hit and miss, sometimes they are fast, friendly, and helpful, sometimes not so much. I received one email in all CAPS abruptly telling me that they couldn't do anything about a lost package. Eventually they did give me a store credit for the lost package (props for that, but it took four months). I reordered some different items using my store credit. Most of the items shipped fine, but two weeks later one item still has not arrived. They say it is out of stock, but when I ordered it the website indicated that it was in stock. I will not buy from them again, but I understand many individuals have had much more positive experiences. They seem like a good company, but the online store suffers from inconsistent customer support and a lack of organization. read more

The product was ordered and we paid a RIDICULOUS amount to have '2-Day Priority Shipping'. They took three days just to 'process' the order and when I contacted their customer support (I contacted them on Monday morning for a shipping update) they couldn't care less! She told me: 'We couldn't process your order before pick up today, it will ship out first thing tomorrow.' I finally got the 'ship notice' email at 17:15 EST/14:15 PST (Which means it didn't ship the day they PROMISED). Wednesday morning I check the tracking and it is still 'pre-ship' (meaning it is still at THEIR facility waiting for USPS to pick it up). So much for 'fast shipping services' - it took them three days and the order still wasn't processed in time. Now even if USPS meets the 'two-day' shipping window it will still have been over 7 Days to receive my product. I will never use this company again as they don't have the wherewithal to meet customer expectations or to fulfill their promised delivery. read more

The next day they sent an email with all kinds of spelling and grammar errors. My name was even misspelled. The email said that the item wasn't in stock and that they were ordering it from the manufacturer. I replied asking how long that usually took and told them when I needed it by. I decided to call and talk to someone over the phone. I called their web sales department. From the moment the woman answered I could tell she was annoyed that I was calling. She was rude, snide, disrespectful, and even made fun of me. I have ordered online twice from this company. Once while stateside and it was adequate. However when I was deployed I ordered boots and never received them. I attempted to file a claim with the company and was told that I had to wait 90 days to file. So I complied and waited 90 days and then weeks to get a status on the claim. I eventually emailed them again and they told me that my claim was denied by the post office because it was over 90 days since the item was shipped. At this point the representative apologized but that was the only offer. I attempted to negotiate with them for 1/2 of my money back (considering they had to ship the boots and I had to pay for them I figured 50/50 was fair) and the only resolution offered was a discount of an unknown amount on my next order (which I will not be using). Amazing customer service, I have been treated like family from the first time I ever went there. I had an issue where the new camelbak I bought was leaking, but I needed it the very next day. The owner himself made the situation right, in an above and beyond kind of way. I placed an order with them for a pair of shoes that they had listed on sale, with my size available. My order was confirmed and emailed to me. Then a day later, I receive an automatic email from them saying my order was cancelled, with no explanation, and no attempt by the company to call me even though I have a number on file. I called them and received some of the worst customer service I've ever encountered, and was basically told that they were out of stock even though they are still advertising otherwise, and were going to make no effort to re-do this order. The clerk had no idea what a sock liner for hiking is. He offered me what he called a "waterproof" sock which made me wonder. And when I asked what he meant, it turned out he meant a polypro hiking sock. Later the Manager said he knew what I meant but the sock liners were out of stock and he had no idea when he would have them. Unfortunately did not have a good experience when I ordered online from here. After placing my order on the website, I got an email today saying that my order had been cancelled. I emailed back asking why they cancelled the order, and was told that it was because I provided an incorrect phone number while placing the order online (to their credit, I do worry about privacy issues and usually provide some generic number when asked by online vendors). Per the request in the email, I called the store to clear up this issue, and provided the representative my cell phone number. One hour later, I got an email from EO telling me that the only way they could complete my order would be for me to wire them money (they specifically requested Western Union). I won't be dealing with this store again; they gave me way too much hassle, all for some socks and underwear, which I instead ordered from another website. read more
