I brought some blue hair that my daughter wanted included as highlights. We were told Natalie was going to do her hair. As we got settled in Natalie's seat, another customer came in and wanted her 4 or 5 year old's hair braided. So we were told we had to get up out of Natalie's chair and wait for another braider that was just around the corner. The wait ended up being another 45 minutes. This is frustrating when you ckearly had a 2pm appointment. When she finished the braiding, I asked her how much we owed. She asked me if I was texted a price. I said yes, $90. She said oh no, box braids are much more than that. It's Ike $130 or $160. DOUBLE WHAT I WSS QUOTED. I showed her the text messages, I told her we texted with Mamalo (her daughter). She said, "oh, she made a mistake, she didn't know you wanted hair added". But all 3 pictures I sent as examples, had hair added. She said all styles with hair added are going to be much more. In the same breath. . She told me that the other little girl that got her hair done paid $90. I asked (sarcastically) did she have hair added. "Yes". Ok. Make it make sense. . Other than a scam where your prices change on a whim. AND she had the nerve to have an attitude when I asked for my left over hair. I always pay my bills, so I paid her. ..but no tip . . And I will never go back. And I am going to post this review on all platforms. So to summarize. Go somewhere else. Lack of professionalism and scamming $160 for kids braids. It's not typically $70 more for hair added.

My hair was not detangled before being washed, which is basic care for this type of service. During the wash, my hair was handled very roughly, rubbed together in a way that caused significant tangling and damage, rather than being gently cleansed. My scalp also didn't feel properly cleaned. I even provided my own conditioner, but it was left on for only a few minutes before being rinsed out. The blow-drying process was just as concerning, my hair was not sectioned or detangled beforehand. Instead, it was blow-dried all at once, which only added to the damage. She was requested to section off my hair and blow dry it by sections. She separated the very back nap of my neck area blow dried, and then continue to blow dry the rest of my hair as a whole. Overall, there was a clear lack of care and attention to the health of my hair throughout the entire process. I left extremely frustrated and disappointed. She does work fast when she focused on my hair and completed the style. When people in the salon started remarking about how pretty the style was, Dee leaned in and said to me if you want this style from us again, it will be 200.00. I asked if I could leave to grab lunch and still keep my spot, and she was super sweet about it and said, "Of course!" I came back, ate my lunch there, got in the chair around 2:30pm, and she officially started braiding around 2:50pm. By 6:19pm, I was back in my car taking selfies. He was super engaging, and took the time to hear what I was looking for - which is rare - I just feel it was poorly executed. There are no real layers to the cut, the sections are very blunt (not my style) and even though I mentioned I'm a wash & go type, he proceeded to flat-iron (which by the way was beautiful!). Unfortunately, post-salon washing left me with a mushroomy "LOB" and no choice but to break out an iron to correct it which is not within my time-realm. My sew-in experience was tragic to put it lightly. The appointment started off well. I brought in 2 bundles of hair. The stylist said she would color it to match my hair color. She colored 1 bundle of the hair. During my appointment, one of her friends/clients came in to discuss a style she was planning to get the following week. Although this salon is marketed as a private setting, this client/friend was allowed to sit and talk during the duration of my appointment. As she was sewing the tracks, she would continue to look at her phone. I'm not sure if she was looking at directions on how to do a sew in or what. When my hair was done, I informed her that I'd like it cut to resemble my natural hair length. Once I left the salon, I saw where tracks were visible at the top (she had to see this before I left), so I went back and she attempted to fix it. Once I got home, not only could I still see tracks at the top, but thread was popping out in the back and a track that was not sewn down was also sticking out. I sent her a picture and she told me to either cut it or Bobby pin it until the next time I return to the salon. The next day (Sunday), I had to get the sew in taken out by someone else because it was falling apart. It was the worst $200 job ever. She did not even cut the tracks to fit naturally. She simply rolled them on top of each other, which made it extremely bulky and impossible to lay flat. I sent her a text that Monday informing her that I had to get the sew-in removed. She never replied. A simple acknowledgement or sorry would have sufficed. For that reason, I realized this is not the stylist for me. Although I wasted a lot of money, I simply see it as a donation to someone who needs it more that I do!
