If the service had been listed online, I would have booked directly and avoided the delay and uncertainty. When I arrived, a staff member named Lasisi (la-cee-cee) began working on my hair, but the experience quickly became disappointing. My hair was not detangled before being washed, which is basic care for this type of service. During the wash, my hair was handled very roughly, rubbed together in a way that caused significant tangling and damage, rather than being gently cleansed. My scalp also didn't feel properly cleaned. I even provided my own conditioner, but it was left on for only a few minutes before being rinsed out. The blow-drying process was just as concerning, my hair was not sectioned or detangled beforehand. Instead, it was blow-dried all at once, which only added to the damage. She was requested to section off my hair and blow dry it by sections. She separated the very back nap of my neck area blow dried, and then continue to blow dry the rest of my hair as a whole. Overall, there was a clear lack of care and attention to the health of my hair throughout the entire process. I left extremely frustrated and disappointed. Despite the shop being very convenient to my home, I will NEVER be returning based on this experience!

She didn't speak to me at all while there, but she did speak with all of the other stylist for 5 hours in French the entire time I was there. Didn't ask about part preference, tightness, sensitive spots, whether im tender headed or anything. She was rough with my hair and i felt rips and pulls. She did my edges WAY too tight. She does work fast when she focused on my hair and completed the style. When people in the salon started remarking about how pretty the style was, Dee leaned in and said to me if you want this style from us again, it will be 200.00. In my heart, i thought to myself, there are hundreds of great braiders in Houston--i won't be back. I absolutely hate greedy stylist. Quote your price and stick to it. If your style is nice/do great work, you will get referrals and people will come and pay. Dee made me feel VERY uncomfortable. I hated this experience. Upon arrival, I wanted to leave while I was waiting for her. I feel like Dees actions puts this salon in the category of being a money grab. I felt hustled. They do NOTHING to 'keep' business, there focus is to rob each customer for as much as they can get in the moment. Long list of items reviewed - arrive on time, one…read moreperson only, temp would be checked, etc. What they failed to mention was that although they are still charging $50 for the haircut (plus the $10 tip I left at the beginning on my card when I dropped my son off because they wouldn't let me stay) they won't style the hair. My son gave them a picture of what he wanted. They cut it and then told him they couldn't style his hair because they can't dip their hands in the gel / glaze right now as it's not sanitary. Really? Since when is it not sanitary to use a pump bottle, a small spatula, or simply wash your dang hands and dip them one time only? Must be nice to charge full price and only do half the job.
