The owner focused heavily on whether my appointment was booked the day before or the same day. If my recollection of the exact timeline was off by a day, I acknowledge that. At the time, I was traveling for work and coordinating appointments through my sister, who was calling multiple salons on my behalf while I was in transit. However, that was never the point. My concern was the lack of flexibility and customer care shown throughout the situation. Businesses have every right to enforce their policies. Customers also have every right to decide whether they feel valued when something goes wrong. Frankly, I found the owner's response far more concerning than the original dispute itself. The decision to publicly disclose extensive details about my appointment history, billing dispute, consultation, and private interactions felt unnecessarily personal, deeply unprofessional, and completely inappropriate for a public business review. Readers can draw their own conclusions. Personally, the owner's response spoke far louder than my review ever could, and I will not be returning or recommending this business. Original Review: I understand salons have cancellation and no-show policies, and I accepted responsibility for missing a same-day appointment due to an unexpected work obligation. However, after not visiting the salon for over 52 weeks, I had completely forgotten they still had my card on file. I was surprised to learn I had been charged $117 for a same-day appointment, especially since there was no opportunity to provide 48 hours' notice on a same-day booking. As a returning customer after more than a year, I believe it would have been reasonable for the reservationist to clearly communicate that a same-day no-show would result in an immediate charge of over $100. A simple reminder at the time of booking could have avoided this entire situation. What I find most unacceptable is being told the charge would remain as a credit that could be applied toward future services, only to later be told I could no longer be serviced by the salon. If a business decides it no longer wishes to have someone as a client, that is its right. However, keeping a customer's money as a service credit while simultaneously refusing to provide services raises serious concerns about fairness and communication. Sal is incredible. When I first came in I had YEARS of black box dye on my hair. There was banding and my hair needed a color correction at first. This is where we are now. Sal is a responsible hair stylist and will tell you if it's safe to process your hair. He will tell you the truth about what is realistic for your expectations or if your hair has to be done in multiple sessions. I appreciate the care and caution, a lot of hair places I've been in the past aren't so careful with the hair. In 6 weeks I will be going a bit lighter. The salon itself is super nice. They ask you if you'd like a water, coffee or some tea. They have snacks if you're there for hours and need a little food. After applying a box dye to my hair due to quarantine boredom I decided it was necessary to have a professional fix the hot mess of a mistake I had made. I'm new to Houston and am not too familiar with any popular stylists/salons out here and decided to give Trademark a chance. I was weary at first since I did not see any clients on their Yelp or Instagram page with kinky curly Afro textured hair like mine. When I called to make an appointment I explained my hair type and color goals and the receptionist right off the bat told me that I should book with Stev3n. Let me just tell y'all that Stev3n did an AMAZING job fixing my color. I'm completely obsessed with the way it looks. I did a horrible job at explaining what I wanted and he still went above & beyond expectations. The only critique that I have (which is soooo minor) is that my curls weren't too defined when I left. This was something that I was expecting though and I figured I'd need to do my own styling later which I believe most curly heads end up doing anyways so this was really not a big deal for me. I'd post a picture of my hair but I did not get a chance to take one and I currently have a bond builder in my hair just to minimize any potential damage. I'm also just impatient as hell and could not wait to write a review. The atmosphere in the salon is extremely professional and friendly. Everything is clean and the staff is very adamant about disinfecting chairs & equipment after each use which I appreciated considering COVID. As someone who is used to going to predominantly black hair salons it was a really great experience to see such a beautifully mixed staff of all races and ethnicities. I paid a tad bit more than expected but the coloring job is well worth it. Thank you Stev3n & Trademark for doing an awesome job with my color all while keeping my curls intact! Don't go to this salon unless you want your hair destroyed!!! This salon is a total money grab, and they don't care about their quality or their clients!!!!! I went in to get my "roots colored" because of my grey showing. Sal Ramirez put in many "highlights" I never even asked for! He left the color on OVER 1 1/2 hours, and I had to keep asking to get my hair shampooed because I knew the color had been on too long and they kept telling me they didn't have any chairs open in the shampoo room!! Within 2 weeks my hair was breaking off and falling out because it was fried and was brittle from being "over-processed"!!! I called C.J. the manager and he would not let me talk to Sal, or Carlos or Tim about what happened. He was so rude to me, and I paid $245.81 for services I didn't even book for in the first place, and on top of that my hair was breaking off and falling out all over and it's never happened to me before. And the shampoo girl put a toner on my hair and the back of my hair turned "copperish" instead of blonde!! I had to pay another salon $350 plus a $70 tip for corrected color, conditioning, conditioning products and cut!!!!!!!! All I want is a refund of $245.81 back to my credit card but besides C.J. being rude and insulting to me, he refused to refund me and said he was "sorry I had a bad experience"!!!! read more

I think this place is way too pricey for what they deliver I went two months ago to get a balayage with Jesse. let me just state that I completely understands the whole" it's gonna take a couple of sessions to get the blonde you want" but my outcome did not look like a balayage it looked more like just highlights and there was a darker area on my Mid- shaft and the roots were lighter. The salon itself is gorgeous & the staff is incredibly friendly but either I caught them on a busier/bad day or they don't really listen to their clients. I was booked for a cut & color with Carlos & then an eyebrow wax & tint. Carlos did a wonderful job on the cut & color itself. However I was shocked to find out my color alone cost $256 & was not informed before or during the process it was going to be almost $100 more than their starting price of $167. I then specifically asked more than four times & made three people aware I wanted a deep conditioning treatment done & it was never done. Carlos unfortunately seemed rushed to try & get with other clients & I'm assuming thats why it was overlooked. The worst part of the whole experience was ending up with beautiful blonde hair & black tinted eyebrows that are literally pencil thin from a horrible waxing & tinting job. The guy that they had do my eyebrows said he had been doing brows for 6+ years so you would think he would know how to shape & tint properly in accordance with ones hair color. Stray hairs were left everywhere, my arch is completely gone, & they are literally BLACK. I want to reiterate...I have blonde hair. I would 100% never recommend any of their spa services. The guy that did mine knew he screwed up with the color but all he could say is he was sorry & it would fade out. Not what I paid for. Left there spending nearly $400 with an added $12 cleaning fee because you know $257 for a color alone wasn't enough to pay for the "trash" my hair produced. Very disappointed & left in tears...again mainly from the eyebrow wax & the lack of communication that occurred between Carlos & I with respect to what I was looking to have done & the cost associated with it. read more

Visited this salon for highlights and a haircut. Kim was the lady that did my hair. First I must say that the color she did was very beautiful color, but not at all what I was hoping for. I specifically explained I wanted light highlights to help camouflage grey. Yesterday was supposed to be my second visit with her, when they called me to confirm I reiterated That I did not want her bouncing between me and other clients because the last time I was there it took four hours. They said she had another client at the same time so they rescheduled me for today at one. This morning I get a phone call with them telling me that they want to charge me extra because it would be wasting Kins time to not work on other people while I am sitting there waiting for her to finish my hair. The man on the phone was being very snotty. It is obvious they just don't want me to come back. They could have just canceled the appointment but instead I have wasted my day taking the day off of work only to be made feel like I'm being forced to pay more because I don't want to sit there for 35 minutes with toner on my head for my nonexistent highlights.
