5 STARS for Nickolas J. Huisman, O.D. and staff! What an incredible experience my wheelchair bound brother had at your office. The attention to detail with his situation was well above any expectation I could have asked for. He is only 62, but with his fully fused back, everything is challenging. The appointment was timely, he was helped in and out of the facility care rooms as they checked his sight. The doctor ordered the glasses he needs for reading up close, with plain glass above for regular sight. The staff kept him entertained as he waited for his facility bus to pick him up and return him to Windmill Manor. Thank you for the respect, the empathy and the professionalism you all showed. I was a little nervous to try this place since the stars/ratings aren't great but it's just so convenient for me since I live on the east side. Glad I gave it a shot.... I had a great experience. (And that's saying a lot since I've been going to the eye doctor since 2nd grade so I've seen a lot of eye doctors). Parking is easy and free. Great selection of glasses. Dr. Huisman was very thorough and I would definitely go back here/recommend. read more

I get my eyes examined here annually. Always super organized, no unnecessary waiting. The place is always clean, staff is super friendly!

I called in October 29 th to make an appointment for My wife & I. I was struggling with the lady on the other end of the line to get an appointment set with dates. She suggested the day after thanksgiving and I started laughing and she hung up on me. If this is the kinda crap you have to deal with over the phone, I can't imagine how poor the service is in person. I will take my family's business elsewhere read more

I have had great experiences at Eye Associates. I used to go there regularly for my eye appointments, however some specific medical needs forced me to move to the University. However, I miss their doctors, they are great and provide high quality care. Eye Associates is also a great place to buy glasses. I appreciate that the staff really takes time to help you select frames that fit our face (some places will just tell you anything looks good). They also have a great selection of frames, one of the best in the area. The only downside is the cost, they are significantly more expensive than some other places. I spent almost $600 on one pair of glasses (of course cost can depend on the frames you choose, your prescription, and type of lenses). You get a 5% discount for paying in full but that's basically just tax. However, I have tried out a discount optical store in the area and I had a lot of trouble getting glasses with the correct lens material, curve, etc. so depending on your needs spending more for good quality may be worthwhile. read more

I have been going to Eye Associates for at least 25 years & have never had an issue with getting appointments or with any of the staff. Everyone from the doctors to the reception/front desk people have always been friendly, professional & courteous. I am now being seen by Dr. Anna Dimmer for regular vision care & management of my glaucoma. She's wonderful, very knowledgeable & doesn't hesitate to answer questions or explain things so that even laymen can understand. Having been an R.N. I have some knowledge of medical conditions but always appreciate explanations of special medical conditions & treatment. She does not talk down to me or expect that I should automatically know what she's talking about. I will admit that eye glasses are more expensive at Eye Associates, you do get a warranty on the lenses & the frames. I have gone to less expensive places to get glasses but I can tell the difference in the quality. One thing I discovered in research is that some of the discount places actually use old lenses from other people's glasses in making new glasses for someone else. I don't know about you but my eyes are pretty important to me & I would rather pay for quality corrective eye wear than a mishmash of repurposed lenses. read more

I had a terrible experience here. Short version: it took a long time, I didn't get what I came in for, and was charged for it. Long version: I came in, and it took 15 minutes to even talk to the front desk. Annoying, but understandable. I then proceeded to sit there for 30 more minutes before I hear the front desk people say they forgot to check someone in. That someone being me. Again, annoying but understandable. Up to this point, they could still have a 3-4 star review. I have my eye exam, and everyone is nice enough, and seems to do a good job. Now, I wear both glasses and contacts, and was specifically coming in to get contacts. I told this to the receptionist I made the appointment with, and wrote it on my check-in paperwork. No one mentioned that I need to wear contacts to my appointment in order to get fitted for contacts. This has never happened to me at any of the numerous eye doctors I've been to. The doctor herself didn't read my paperwork "in order to be efficient" because they had screwed up my check in, apparently to improve my experience. By the time they asked me any questions or gave me a chance to ask about contacts, my eyes were dilated and I couldn't be fitted even if I had my contacts. Fun. Now I need to schedule a follow-up appointment, which apparently has to be a month or more later. Plus, they tried to charge me $160 just for a basic exam (no contact fitting), even thought they had told me my insurance covers it. I said "no way" - we'll see if insurance ends up covering it. Maybe I'll add to this when I go back for my follow-up appointment. I certainly wouldn't be going back even this once, except my insurance has (hopefully) already been billed for my annual eye check-up. read more

don't come here for an eye exam. First, I've never been to a place that make you wait as they did. It took them 45 mins to get someone in to take pictures of your eye. Second, they will bill you as a medical claim instead of an eye exam claim even though you clearly made the appointment for a routine eye exam not for medical and you bought a pair of eyeglasses from them. When they claim it as medical, they can charge you a lot more and then your insurance will make you pay medical copay and deductibles, which is ALOT higher, than a routine eye exam. read more

Really disgusted today with Eye Associates. They made a mistake on the amount due on my daughter's glasses, and instead of being accommodating on payment, they refused to dispense her glasses until payment was made in full. THEIR mistake. No leeway, no flexibility, nothing. Terrible customer service. I doubt we will ever go back there. read more
