I went in twice with my loot and he helped me separate the costume jewelry from the real stuff. I donated all the costume jewelry and told him I would be back to sell the good jewelry when I was comfortable with the spot price of gold. Mark was so kind and even suggested I go to another dealer first, so that I could get more than one quote. So, that's what I did! Yesterday was my day! I got one quote at the first business - which was good, and then took my loot to Mark. His quote was a little bit higher on the exact items. I also asked him to double check some of the jewelry that was not accepted at the first place. Most of that turned out to be gold, so he gave me an additional quote. The star on the Rockefeller Center tree is made of Swarovski crystals so each year they design a miniature of that star if you want to own it as a keepsake. They are located in most major malls and if you wish to become a member for a fee you can get special items for members only. On this particular visit my girlfriend was interested in a beautiful pair of bar earrings and I was looking at drop earrings to work our wardrobe. The prices seemed reasonable. The lady who was helping us explained that they insure their jewelry for one year against loss of a crystal. I asked what happens after that? I was told that if I were to lose a crystal off an earring then it would cost me $50.00 to have it replaced. That was the same cost as the bar earrings my friend was considering. We both thought that since this type of jewelry you don't usually insure it wasn't worth it. They do make pretty items but be prepared to shell out the money for them.
