Dr. Hrabinski is an excellent eye doctor. My family has been going to him for over 10 years and we are very pleased.

My husband and I were new patients at Primary Eyecare and both of us agreed that going to Primary Eyecare was a stress-free experience. Dr. Leggin also has a great staff in a lovely office, and they also sell eye glasses. -- Theresa Quinn (7/28/25)

This was my first visit to this eye doctor since my 2019 appt somewhere else. For those of you…read moreconcerned about how the practice is handling appts, here's the news: Once you make an appt, you get an email with a form to complete and bring with you and a confirmation with instructions for your appt. They are asking you to call once you're in the parking lot. I waited near the door (not hovering over it) and Dr Leggin came out to bring me inside. She took my temp right away, took my form and asked me to use hand sanitizer. I went into the exam room where she explained everything that was disinfected and what was being used. She washed her hands before starting the exam and used hand sanitizer quite frequently. She remained double masked the entire time and took the time to talk through some questions and comments during the appointment. Once done, I checked out with the front desk, which is partially covered with plexiglass except for a small opening to pass through paperwork and payment. The person at the front desk was also masked and there were signs posted about the guidance they're following. My appt was on a Wednesday and my contacts and glasses are expected to arrive the following Monday. Overall, a solid appt. Peace of mind knowing these are the steps being taken for an eye appt. She is not able to see the same volume of patients due to all the extra steps needed. I lucked out getting an appt just a few days from calling. She is dedicating an hour per patient to allow time for those extra steps (disinfecting, taking temp, asking to to use hand sanitizer, etc). Parking is easy as there's a dedicated shared parking lot for the area she's located (behind old man rafferty's).

After reading the rave reviews, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Sherman. On the day of my…read morevisit, I was informed that Dr. Sherman was running behind and was given the option of waiting another 20 minutes or seeing Dr. Raia instead. Since I had already been waiting about 10 minutes, I chose to proceed with Dr. Raia. I found Dr. Raia to be efficient and professional. She completed the exam quickly, and I was then directed to the front to select glasses. The staff member assisting me (no name provided) asked about my preferences. I mentioned I was interested in unisex frames, but she repeatedly suggested styles that clearly did not fit that description. After a while, she left to help another patient, and I finished the ordering process with another staff member (also unnamed). I was told my glasses would arrive in approximately 7-10 days and that I would receive a call when they were ready. After leaving, I realized I had not been given a copy of my prescription. Three weeks later, having heard nothing, I contacted the office to check on the status. After being on hold for several minutes, I was told the glasses had not yet arrived and that they would contact me when they did -- essentially, "we'll call you." Interestingly, about 10 days after that call, I was notified that my glasses were ready, which did make me wonder whether the order had actually been placed on the day of my exam. When I picked up the glasses, I asked for my prescription. The same staff member who had initially helped with frames -- previously friendly and upbeat -- seemed noticeably less welcoming. She stepped away and returned several minutes later, silently handing me the prescription. I thanked her, wished her a good day, and left feeling certain I would not return. For what it's worth, I also found the frame selection to be fairly limited. My spouse was examined by Dr. Raia one week prior to my appointment and he found her to be attentive, helpful and efficient. His glasses arrived within two weeks of his appointment. He, too, had to ask for his prescription. He also expressed disappointment that the staff did not discuss progressive lenses with him and pushed him toward frames that he did not want. He now unhappily owns a pair of bi-focals.

When I got them, I immediately tried them on in the store and I noticed my vision was not clear, especially for distance. I discussed this with the staff. They suggested I wear them a bit and if not right let them know. So I did but I also brought them to my eye doctor the next day. He checked the lenses and discovered that they were not cut properly according to his prescription. Additionally, while at the eye doctor I noticed that the left lens was not fitted in the frames properly. It was loose. I brought the back to Visionworks the next day with both complaints. They took them back saying they would "check the prescription" and at a minimum, replace the left lens because the shape of it didn't fit the frames, hence the looseness. A week and a half later I get the glasses back, I try them and as far as the ability to see any better, they seemed about the same. But, amazingly (or not?) the lens that was loose wasn't replaced at all. What they did was bend the frame to fit the lens! So that was that. I wanted my money back and they gave it to me, because they do have a "return for any reason" policy. However, the nerve of them to try to skate by responsibility for fixing them properly obviously just hoping I wouldn't notice. What jerks. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE DECEITFUL SCOUNDRELS!!!
