Dr Knecht was arrogant, condescending, and could not make eye contact. He seemed to have a preconceived idea that my troubling symptoms did not exist and specifically told me that they could not be happening. I received no relief or suggestions except to use eyedrops. I received a prescription for eye glasses but the prescription wasn't even effective during the exam and again my symptoms were irrelevant. read more

Update as of 6/13/19 I called today to check when my last appt was, and I am 3 months past due for my annual check up. It's important cause I got the diabetes you see.. Bummer they never even sent me a reminder. That that is not their problem, but when talk to the front counter lady she did not care, I asked about appt times and she said 8-3 but sometimes they do a 4pm but made it clear I was not on the special customer list for 4pm appts. I told her I guess I will have to try another eye doc and she said that was fine and have a good day. I will not be going back here this year after having a good experience last year. Man I even left a great yelp review. I guess they don't need anymore customers and the front counter staff must run the show. If I was an eye doc here I would be really upset that my staff was so happily willing to let me customers leave. Well on word and upward! Came to get my eyes checked. I have the diabettus so it's important for me to get it done yearly. Came in just before my appointment time waited for one customer and then me. They had a waiting room almost full and that got me a little worried. But was happy to say they called my name and took me back with in 5 mints. How awesome is that. Once in the chair it was all smiles and rainbows ok not really but the Doc was super nice and got my eyes all checked out. (No issues just Incase Your where wondering about my eye health) Once I was done with her I went out and looked at all the frames they had to offer. I was super happy to see the had big head size glass and not just ones for normal size heads. The guy that helped me was great friendly and very helpful. And I waited 2-3 mints max!!! I have been a patient of record at this facility for decades, intermittently. I called to book my husband an appointment for today several weeks ago and was told for him to arrive "a few minutes early for paperwork". He went to the wrong Albany facility, so arrived at 10:10 AM for his 10 AM appointment. They turned him away, stating he should have arrived at 930 AM. When I called to inquire as to the discrepancy of early arrival instruction as he would've had a larger cushion of time to have made it to the correct facility, the receptionist said that it's here nor there because he was late, and that they have a seven minute policy so he was there for three minutes outside of the policy, and they are now booking out to May. I have been seen by Dr. Lopez for over a year at the Albany office. I go in every 4to 6 weeks for injections in my right eye. I feel confident that this office follows the Covid 19 safety guidelines. The Dr's assistant and office staff are always professional and friendly. I've been getting injections for 4 or 5 years. Been going here for like 20 years, & my insurance covered everything but the co-pay. Fast forward to now, I'm retired with Medicare & an Advantage plan. I wore contacts but no more so I just wanted a regular eye exam to check for issues. My appointment was made for like 3 months out, but OK, ya know, still before years end & my insurance rolled over. Staff was all new (again) but Doc was the same. Dr. Hussey was great as usual & did the basic exam. No contact rx & I was given my results before leaving. No money requested (I asked) & my benefit card with $250 eye care was not taken. I received an insurance EOB about 3 weeks later....shocking! They billed my carrier $360 for a basic exam & dilation. My benefit is only $250 a year. Guess I'll be receiving a bill for the remainder. My next exam will NOT be here but at Costco for maybe 100 bucks or less. Buyer beware.....my fault for not asking the cost but I'm done there. read more

Had my very first experience here in Lincoln City with Eyecare Associates! I wish I would have tried them sooner. What great customer service! Everyone was so nice and welcoming! Staff does not call to remind you of upcoming appointments like most medical practices do. They also cancel your appointments without telling you! I was just told today that Dr. Madsen only sees surgery patients now! I had an appointment already scheduled when I called to verify it, I was told that Dr. Madsen would no longer see me! No warning, no notice, very unprofessional! I could have been looking for another doctor instead of waiting more than 4 months for my appointment that was cancelled without my knowledge! So, after 4 years, I am now looking for another specialist and have to go over all my medical conditions with a new doctor! It really seems to me that Dr. Madsen does not really care all that much about his patients. I really got the feeling it was "just" a job to him. Not surprised by the unfavorable reviews. read more

It's interesting that another review mentioned the "7 minute deadline" for a patient to be late before they refuse service. I showed up 15 minutes early, just like they wanted me to, and they didn't take me in for 40 MINUTES (20 minutes after my appointment time) and that was at 9 am when they should have been on schedule. Not only that, but they took a walk-in that came in after me, ahead of me, right at my appointed time. I heard her tell the receptionist that she didn't have an appointment but was told by another doctor to just show up. They seem to have no respect for other people's time while demanding respect for their own. read more

I made an appointment with these people and when came to my appointment I waited in the lobby about 40 minutes and then was moved to the inner waiting room for another 20 minute wait, An office person then came in and told me they were not going to see me because I had been late to my appointment. I was less than tem minutes late. Why let me wait an hour before telling me I was not going to see the doctor. Wouldn't see these folks on a bet. read more

I wish I could give this better rating but I cannot. Given incorrect and conflicting information regarding cataract surgery. They managed to screw up our insurance information and then called us at the last minute before surgery to say they had not got approval. Our visit to the office was waaaaay longer than it should have been and there was a shortage of chairs and no distancing. The staff are lax about mask wearing, including the doctor who had his under his nose. We had already given up on their office in Lebanon. Will not be going back. read more

I have been going to Dr Madsen for a couple of years, as a matter he did our cornea (lens) both me and my husband. I went in to get a exam and new glasses. They gave me another doctor. He kept telling meto keep my eyes wide open. I told the doctor that I would help him by opening up my eyes. In the middle of the exam he said I can't help you and he walked out. I went to Costco and everything was great, she did an exam and I got a new pair of glasses. Costco charges $95.00 Eye care associates charge over $100.00 can't imagine how much their glasses are, If you want a good exam at a good price give Costco a chance they are good. HALLELUJAH ! I waited to have Cataract Surgery ..preferring to stay in Lincoln City..rather than hiring a driver for the long trips to Salem,Corvallis, or McMinnville. I was told to see a dr mateson ? Been to other eye care associates docs they were ok but there staff not at all !! . When I called my eye doc to get name of doc they couldn't believe how long it had been . When they said eye care associates I said " oh been there done that nothing will happen " they are horrible same as before 4 phone calls other office calling and still lies . They subcontract there office staff who are like dealing with tweens with an attitude. I would rather go blind then deal with that again !!! I will talk to my doc and say I would rather go blind !! I am end of life and the two docs are friends . Like my doc said it will help improve your life !!! He IS right but I took it off table because the staff is so unethical !! The days I have left are all about dignity and never will that happen at eye care associates. That's why I go to valley eye care great people and staff is so happy . Again tried For eyesight saving surgery in 2020 same crap over a year trying to see dr mateson . Since staff STILL like tween bitchy girls .no ethics by staff . Trying to get an appointment with this place was a disaster and possibly a scam. It took over a month to get an appointment, but I had heard that it was a good place, so I decided to wait. They took my insurance info over the phone and told me that they would verify my insurance by the time of the appointment. When I got to my appointment, no one had verified my insurance so I gave them my card. They made me wait for 20 minutes or so while they "called" my insurance. Then I was told that I have some other type of insurance, Spectera, and they didn't accept it, but they would accept cash for my appointment if I chose to keep it! I told them no, and once I was home I checked with my husband's employer, who supplies our insurance, and indeed the card that I gave them is my optical insurance. Not only that, but they are a network provider! There was either some kind of crazy incompetence or scam going on, but I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. read more
