I have gone to Eye Care Expresd for several years. Jenny is always helpful. today I called to see if by chance my glasses came I'm early. was told it takes 3:4 weeks with insurance. Not acceptable! Was just ripped off by Eyecare Express and will not return, after bringing myself and all my kids in for exams and frames on multiple occasions. We chose a pair of $99 frames, and for the second free pair, a $79 pair. For the first time, they charged me $99 for the lenses, despite the fact that lenses have always been included in the past. Their website clearly states $69 & UP BUY ONE PAIR, GET ONE FREE! - get your eye exam* - select your frames - single vision lenses included - add upgrades for additional costs When we called, Jennifer told us this did not cover higher cost frames. However, the website clearly states "$69 and up." Jennifer told my husband he didn't read it right. We will not be doing business again read more

I visited Elkhart in January and received the free eye exam with 2 pairs of glasses for $69. Everyone was very helpful and I got exactly what I needed. I am now back in Arizona where I'm from, and I needed to know the details of my prescription so I could order new glasses down here, so I called and asked how I could go about that. The girl I spoke with (I believe her name was Jess, Jocelyn, something like that) was very rude and kept cutting me off. She cut me off and told me she would print out a copy so I could pick it up, and when I told her I live across the country and asked her to fax it to me, she huffed & puffed and literally said "I guess so." I asked her how long it was going to take for the fax to come and she said she didn't know, she would do it when she could. Having a good experience in office means nothing when the customer service is this disgusting any other time. read more

Bait n Switch shop. Their "Two pair for $60" only applies to two cheap plastic styles of frames straight out of Army boot camp and that's it! Oh, you need prescription lenses? That's an additional $150 - per pair. Oh bifocals or trifocals? Add about $200. Anti-scratch or UV protection? Add another $100. You want a frame that won't scare Frankenstein? Another $100+. Then, after you fork over $500+ for the glasses, they don't even make them right! The gals claim they were made "per prescription," but they make me wobble like a drunken sailor. Clearly, wrong lenses. Don't like it? Too bad. No Refunds & No Redos. Those glasses are yours, loser. Stay away. read more

If I could give a less than 1 star rating I would. Very, very poor experience. I took in my prescription for glasses and need a special coating on them that needed to be sent out. I loved my current frames so I handed over my frames to have new lenses put in. They said it takes 14 business day. Well, 20 days, 25 days, 30 days and multiple excuses. Everything from shipping problem to we dont know what happened, to come on in and puck out a whole new pair of glasses free ( so I went) after driving the distance and they found out glasses were to arrive next day so scratch that! Promised to call, no call. After calling them later that day (when my original frames and lenses were to arrive)Alysa stated oh yea, there here! Why didnt you call me? Im busy and On and on. I stated I would be there at 10:00 on Monday, she said make it 10:15. So i made it 1015 and she kept we waiting one half hour (no one else in store) she brought glasses out and I couldnt see through the glasses! I asked her to remove lenses and she through them away! Within 2 minutes the garbage truck apparently came and picked up trash. She informed me i couldnt get lenses back ( i was going to take them elsewhere to have prescription verified). She was snotty, arrogant and I was treated horribly. I am a senior citizen who made multiple calls to resolve this issue as well as multiple trips Thankful i got my frames back. They would not even reimburse me for the total cost of lenses only a portion. Thank God for Chase, they credited my account and charged it back to these clowns. read more

Very shady operation. My 73 year old mother went in there and ordered and paid cash for new glasses. A month later she still does NOT have the glasses. When we call we're told they will get back with us in a couple of days...they need to contact the lab ". When I asked why it's taking a couple of days to do this... the response is "it just takes that long". I asked if there was a corporate office I could call and was told "This is a family business. There is no number I can give you". I asked for her money to be refunded since they are not keeping up their end of the bargain and was told that "they don't have authorization to do this. VERY UNPROFFESSIONAL. This business obviously takes no pride in their customer service and leaves the burden of dealing with irate customers on their staff. I can't imagine they will be in business very long. read more

Nothing "Express" about this place. I ordered 2 pair of glasses the 27th of June, yes I got a buy one get one frame free, I had to pay for the carbo light lens and the anti glare coating and progressive lenses. Was told 2 weeks, at the end of 2 weeks, was told 10-14 BUSINESS days,, at the end of 14 business days, was told a MINIMUM of 14 business days. Day 17, was told they were ready, and they are WRONG, the bifocal is in the SIDE, they are re-making them, still haven't been given a time frame, still waiting to hear from someone higher then store manager. I have NEVER waited this long for glasses. read more

This is the worst place to get any kind of eye care done. They advertise that it's inexpensive however it costs more than most places I have ever been to. They don't stand behind their work. If you order contacts they don't give them to you in as a pair but charge you for whatever months supply you need. Then when asked about it they want to argue with you. Bait and switch shop. I knew I'd need bifocals, and their special only covered single vision lens. I was told that it would cost me $120 for everything over the phone, but when I got there, that $120 suddenly turned into $238 (not including tax) I told them never mind, and left. While there, I heard other customers complain. One customer paid $400 for two pairs of glasses, and hadn't received the second pair. Another customer came in because she'd FINALLY received the second pair for her son and they fell apart in less than an hour. read more

This is the absolute worst place I have ever done business. 2 months after I ordered my glasses, I still don't have them. To make things worse, they will not refund my money. The offered me a 10% discount. I have now taken this to the next step and will be disputing the transaction with my credit card company. I wish I could give it a negative star. read more

My wife took my three kids here to get new glasses. The optometrist was out for the day so the manager offered my wife a discount if she paid that day and came back for the exams. My wife took the kids back for their eye exam appointment, only to find out the optometrist had to leave earlier that day. A few days later, they finally got their exams, selected new frames and lenses and came home to wait for the call, a week or so later, saying the glasses were ready. My wife took the kids back to try out their glasses and make any adjustments. There were problems with all three pair. The lenses were wrong and were missing some of the upgrades that we paid for. They took the glasses back and said they would send them out to be fixed. A couple of weeks later, we got a phone call saying the glasses were ready. We went in to get them. Still wrong, and one pair had chips around the edges of the lenses. My wife asked for a refund but the manager said she couldn't do that and she would make it right. They sent them out again and a week and a half later, they called, saying the glasses were ready again. We went to get them and only had one pair. The other two pair were nowhere to be found, so here we sit, waiting again, six weeks later. Probably needless to say, but we will certainly not be patronizing this establishment ever again. Update: My children's exams / glasses ordered mid-January. Here it is mid-May and we just received the call that the glasses are complete. How does a company stay in business like this? read more

Unbelievable. First of all, the staff needs to dress a little more appropriately. I don't think fishnet stockings are business attire. Aside from that, they called my son back for his "free" exam before explaining to us anything about how the 2/$69 deal worked. My son came out thinking he was done and began looking at frames. He got called back again. At this point I asked someone about the deal and was directed to a VERY small selection which included a color coded variety that ranged from 2/$69 to 2/$129. I only saw one pair of men's glasses in the whole lot. The were hideous and not one of the cheaper pairs. We'd also been informed that anything else was buy one get one free. He came out again and I asked if he was done and he didn't know. We spent probably 15-20 minutes looking at frames and even though I'd gone in expecting to spend roughly $70, I was now looking at spending $170. We waited patiently for anyone to ask if we were ready. We even walked over to where 4 employees and the Dr were all standing, chatting and were completely ignored. Finally, I walked up to the desk and asked if the exam portion of our visit was over. They acted surprised that we were ready, even though I'd been standing there with 2 pairs of frames in my hands for about 10 minutes. The fishnet lady tells us to go to a desk and we do. She sits down and begins helping us when she suddenly answers the phone and takes an appointment while we continue to wait. Why is this an issue? There was another lady that had been answering the phone the entire time we were there. She was chatting with 2 other employees while the one that was supposed to be helping us was taking an appointment. She didn't even bother to excuse herself. She just stopped and answered the phone. HOW RUDE! I even said to my son that I was about to walk out and she didn't flinch. She hangs up and we got back to my son.That's when I figured out that the $169 was just the frames and they wanted another $75 for plastic lenses. I about lost my mine. You can get poly-carbonate lenses at Walmart for $50 and $9 frames. What the hell were we even doing here?! I asked how much was the exam and she starts explaining to me the policy on frame prices. I asked again how much was the exam because I'd expected to pay $70 and now we're up to $250. She starts explaining to me where the $69 lenses are. I told her they only had one men's pair, it wasn't the $69 deal and no way in hell was my son wearing those and asked AGAIN how much was the exam. She started talking about frame prices again! I could feel the blood rising to my face. I slapped my hand on the counter, told her we were not getting frames there. I just wanted to pay for the exam and get the prescription and we could get them cheaper at Walmart. I asked AGAIN how much was the exam. He very smugly told me $45. I asked did we pay her or did we need to go to another counter? She said we paid her. She proceeded to click away on the computer and made a point of folding up the paper that she began drawing up our frames order on and throwing it away. Then she got up and told us to follow her to another counter. By this point I'm about to go postal. We follow her and pay. She handed me a receipt and a hand written coupon and said, "In case you don't find them cheaper somewhere else." I don't know how I didn't smack her. As she's walking away, I'm looking over this coupon that says we can get any 2 complete pairs for $59 if the frames are $129 or less and my blood is boiling. The frames he picked were $169 and I was not going to stay there and ask him to look again, so I just asked where was the prescription. She said, "I just have to go get this signed by the Dr." She comes back with the prescription and says, "The manager says if you pick one pair for $139 or less, we can give it to you for $69 and the lenses will be free." I told her the frames my son wanted were $169. She said, "Oh. Ok." We walked out and I said to my son, "So they were willing to give us a $70 discount on one $139 pair and another $79 pair of lenses were free, but they wouldn't give me just the lenses free on the $169 pair..." This place is a classic example of bait and switch. They promise you a deal that they know you aren't going to take when you see the details. Then they offer you a replacement deal that is MUCH more expensive. Top that off with HORRIBLE customer service and I'd rather pay more somewhere else just to get honesty and good customer service. I would NOT recommend this place. My son had an appointment on December 28th, 2018. He still does not have his glasses as of today February 13th, 2019. The manager Amanda keeps giving us the run around - saying she can't get a hold of the lab, the lab can't fit the lenses in the frames he choose. They had to order a different size frame - and now ...the frame is on back order. I called in MANY times over the time period, she NEVER returned my calls. When I demanded my money back she stated they have a no refund policy. No refund policy for glasses I never received? I did get my money back but I had to get ugly. I will NEVER return here again. read more
