This was my first time coming to this office and it was truly the best experience ever! My husband has been a patient of Dr. Frisch for many years and has always spoken so highly of him and the staff. I finally decided to switch from my old Optometrist and give Dr. Frisch a try. I'm so glad that I did! First, I'll start with how easy it is to schedule an appointment. The front staff are so nice and welcoming. Hailey was amazing, efficient and very helpful. Dr. Frisch has an extensive resume of education, training and many years of experience in his field. He is very thorough with his exams, explains everything in detail and also has the best personality! He is kind, warm and genuinely loves what he does and cares about his patients. Most importantly, he doesn't rush through the exam. They have state of the art equipment for testing your eyes. A lovely selection of eye glass frames. This is a really long awaited review. I was having awful eye pain, redness, and my eye was non-stop watering. We called Eyecare and they took me in that morning. He was quick and thorough with his examination and explained everything to me. We were able to get a prescription eyedrop for my corneal ulcer and my eye was better within a few days. EyeCare Optometric Center of Northridge, 9036 Balboa Blvd. Northridge, CA 91325 03/28/25 I was in Dr. Michael Frisch office today at 2:30pm Friday. I received warm greetings from Janis and Hailey. I gave my two eyeglasses to Hailey and showed her the part that needs fixing and also the second needs adjustment. Andrew after helping a customer, said "Who needs help on the eyeglasses? Since I was the next customer, I told him that those two are mine. I told Andrew, "Long time, no see". I look familiar (14 years as a customer). He gave me warm hug. He fixed my first eyeglasses and told me to wait or I can come back on Tuesday for the second eyeglasses. So I went to the CVS (next door) and bought items.. Then I got a call from Janis, she told me that my second eyeglasses is fixed. Thanks so much for the good customer service. I have been a customer since October 2011. I was in Dr. Michael Frisch office this morning at 7:30am 06/20/24 for comprehensive exam. Dr. Michael Frisch is very professional and is very thorough during the exam. He examined my eyes carefully and patiently. He has a good sense of humor. After my exam he showed me the results on the computer screen, spectacle lens, prior years history. They have a beautiful office with latest technology. Office staff, Andrew, Emily and Janice make you feel welcome. They are always very friendly and helpful especially when you have questions regarding your insurance, glasses, etc. Andrew helped me with the selection of glasses while Janice and Emily were attending  to customers via phone or working in the computer. One star due to the poor customer service of the person answering the phone to take appointments. I was extremely disappointed when I called to make an appointment for myself and my husband. He had me call the insurance call them back go back in circles twice without able to get an appointment and giving me a solid answer for insurance coverage. When I called the insurance and they said that I do have coverage I called him back and he refused to call the insurance refused to check or do any extra work and just kept saying that he's too busy. I understand that he's too busy and so am I and I'm trying to get an appointment and I've already done my part that's two times of asked me to do pre-work yet he refused to do his part and just wants to take an appointment on a SilverPlatter. I asked for his name and he hung up. I called back I asked for his name and he refused to give it to me. read more

I've been coming to Eyecare Optometric Center for years now, ever since I was a little kid and got my first pair of eyeglasses, you can always expect great friendly service from the staff there, Dr. Frisch Is amazing, very engaging and just makes having your eyes examined, pulps dilated an over all great experience. It's not a huge location and their selection of eye ware is limited but they have designer brands like Michael Kors, Gucci, Chloe, Juicy Couture, Ray Ban, etc. Most of their glasses are conveniently displayed against the wall with plenty of mirrors to see how the glasses fit/complement your facial features. In addition to prescription glasses, they also have different sunglass selections in center displays. This is where their staff is AMAZING!!! They walk around and suggest different frames to try on based on what your style preference is and what looks good on you, and yes... if something doesn't look good they would politely let you know in a fun way like "Oh ummm no let's go back to this..." Of course depending on your medical insurance is the price you are going to pay. The turnaround time from when you receive your glasses from when you selected them during your visit in relatively quick, I went in this weekend and they said I should be expecting them before the end of the month which would make it around a 2 week turn around time. One things that's special is when you pick up your glasses they always include a bag of Peanut M&M's or something special. I used to love this place. The front of the office staff used to be very helpful and friendly. After getting my eyes checked by Doctor Frisch I inquired where the old staff went. He explained they moved. I expressed how sad that was because of how great they were. Dr. Frisch is amazing. He is wonderful at remembering all of his patients and taking care of more than just their eyes. He has a genuine interest in getting to know his patients. The review for the doctor is at five. The review for the front office staff is one. The first time I came here since I moved back to Northridge I got glasses for both my son and I. The front office staff were more interested with their own conversations then taking the time to help find a frame for both my son and I. It felt like I was intruding/interrupting their banter whenever I had a question about frames. That is why I mentioned to Dr. Frisch about the previous office staff. I held off on writing a review because of how much respect I have for the doctor. My mother after the fact had a similar experience with the front office staff. She expressed they were not helpful when she asked for her prescription. The last draw however and reason why I will seek another optometrist is because of how they handled my sons situation. He is joining the military to serve our country and needed his prescription. The pair of glasses he received at the beginning of the year were never quite right. I explained to him not not to worry just stop in and get his prescription from our optometrist and I'm sure they would help him out. He was brushed off and told that it's too bad he should have came in before because now it is too late to do anything about it. They would have to reexamine and charge again. When I called to express my displeasure with the way my son was treated I was spoken to like I was being irrational. It's one thing if you're just not that friendly of an office staff and it's another thing to speak in a condescending manner to someone who has been a patient (as well as the whole family) for a very long time. If you are looking for a thorough, informative and fun eye exam, this is the right place, from beginning to end. Setting up my appointment, was very easy. They asked about my insurance coverage and in case that didn't go through, they gave me their prices and what to expect. Which I found very reasonable. Checking in, considering they were short-staffed, went really smooth. At all times they were communicating what they were going to do, what to expect and any additional fees. Never felt pressured, or rushed and always well-informed! And Dr Frisch, funny man, very knowledgeable and thorough. Dr frisch and the staff are always so helpful and accommodating. Dr frisch is so kind and knowledgeable, and always makes an effort to remember your condition and how your eyes work. He takes his time and explains everything. The staff are great and patient while you choose frames, which they have a great selection of high end brands - gucci, salt, prada, marc jacobs, tom ford, etf. They can even look online for styles they may not carry but can order for you. Almost don't want to share how much of a gem this place is. I have been coming to this office for over 5 years. Dr Frisch and his staff are awesome! I get a very good care from my doctor and awesome attentiveness from the staff from helping me choose my frames to follow ups. I have never had a problem in all the times I have been visiting the office. I was late once and they even saw me in that same day even if the place was busy. Yes, they bend over backwards to make their patients feel important. I have since moved to Oxnard and I still drive all the way to this office as I know I get the attention my eyes need. This was the best experience I've had at an eye care center! The environment was welcoming and friendly the moment I walk in. The staff at the front desk were very happy, yet professional, and treated me with genuine kindness. Their happy energy is a reflection of the general good management of the place.
