I have been wearing glasses for 30+ years. First time visiting this practice to get lenses for new eyeglasses. I had a very thorough exam by Dr Lyons. But when my eyes were getting tired from the exam, I was told to not overthink my visual assessment, and to say my first impression of which lens seemed clearest. The rest of the fitting and order done by the manager, Carlos. He was fairly impersonal, and didn't review the choices for lenses that were available to me. His measurements were apparently made poorly. When I got my glasses 2 wks later, something felt very wrong with the prescription, and the lens color was an unpleasant blue (which i never asked for and was upsold to me). I was told to just try them, and get used to it. It was impossible to drive, work, or function like this, So I went back. A different optometrist found that the lens was placed wrong in the frame and also recommended I have a re-exam. Turned out the right eye Rx was incorrect. They redid the lenses for me. When I received them 2 weeks later, they still felt wrong, but I was asked to try to adjust to them. After 10 days of trying, I could not. I was dizzy nauseated and cognitively affected by (I believe) the strong astigmatism correction. I called and asked for the astigmatism to be "put back to my previous Rx." Carlos returned my call after speaking with the doctor. Carlos said they Would Not help me. He offered a refund my money and Told me to go elsewhere! I have never had an experience with an optometrist not wanting to help me, the patient, have a comfortable Rx. I was told "you must have a problem." So, Carlos essentially refused to correct the lenses a 3rd time, when the 1st time was entirely their error. Office staff was otherwise helpful and pleasant - Just don't have Carlos help you. read more

Drs and contact area are great but optical department was very disappointing. I have been a patient for over 18 years . Many staff changes has made optical retail area disappointing Some of the employees in glasses area are helpful and understand insurance benefits. I unfortunately was helped by someone who was dismissive and misinformed, even though I had my insurance information printed out. I highly recommend the doctors for vision care, but might need to explore other options glasses. read more

We Moved back to Florida 5 years ago last month. Every year I have gone to a different eye dr. I was looking for the perfect Dr. and well I have now found that!!! Eye care professionals the entire staff are absolutely amazing. Took the time to explain everything that they were doing the doctor went over the scans with me in detail allowed me to see what he was seeing explained everything. When I said I was thinking about contacts instead of glasses but I'm not sure if that's an option for me. He said let's finish the testing and see what your vision is like and I will tell you about your options. He did and when I told him what I wanted he said ok and off to the traing I went to learn how to put my new contacts in and how to care for them. The lady that was teaching me was Very patient and knowledgeable. I never felt pressured into getting something I didn't want. I did not purchase glasses on this visit however I did look at what they had to offer they had a large selection of very nice glasses in a large range of prices something for every budget. Dr. Valente and his entire staff were absolutely amazing and helpful. We will be back! I highly recommend them I'm even taking my mother to see him. read more

Typical 'up-sellers' when it comes to eye glasses and the such. Neither my wife or I used their doctors for exams... so I can not offer any opinion on that part of the practice. We had our eyes inspected elsewhere at an office that did not carry a single eye glass frame that did not cost more than the $130 covered by the insurance company. I called this office and sure enough... they did have some frames that were retailing for less than $130 ($120). So we stopped by to look at their frames and they have a fair selection... of course, 98% of them run much higher than our frame allowance. The part I do not like about this place... and others... is the insistent effort to 'up-sell'. I (probably naively) think it should be enough just to offer added features and lens coatings. But the... "Okay, but if you are not getting ALL of these 'upgrades', you definitely should at least take THIS one"! Well.... we didn't take ANY of the up-sells.... and managed to stay within our allowance. So... we walk out having stood our ground... but the distaste of being pressure to purchase more than what we clearly communicated that we wanted will be enough to keep up from revisiting. read more

AWFUL! Office Manager Sherry Fullilove has awful customer service skills! Does not live up to her name :( I went to see them primarily Dr Todd Erickson. for an eye infection, sensitive watery eyes with redness. I also did an eye exam and paid extra for the extensive eye exam to cover all bases! And i purchased some contact lenses. I was told by the Dr i just had sensitive eyes and was given some eye drops. My eyes continued to have this issue and got worse and worse! I kept thinking what the Dr had said and just carried on, since i have no insurance and had already paid once! My eyes have gotten sooooo bad that they have red sores all around the lids! Water constantly and hurt so bad! I called to see if i could see the dr again for free since i was misdiagnosed and office manager Sherry Fullilove said NO! This is awful customer service, they could have easily aeen me and prescribed some anti biotics and i would have been a happy customer! since it was their error of misdiagnosis! I since found out its blepharitis which runs in my family! I am concerned for patient safety! If they cannot diagnose my issue which is quite common and simple to diagnose.....what hope do more complex cases have! Office manager Sherry Fullilove has zero customer service skills! Dr Butler and the staff are just wonderful. Did a complete exam and spent more time than any other eye care doctor that I had ever seen. All the staff was professional and very friendly. Recently, I was having eye pain the staff had me come right in, even giving me eye drops to ease the pain. After seeing Doctor Butler he advised me that I had a serious cornea condition and needed a specialist. Within one hour the staff had made me an appointment with a specialist and even had a call later in the day to,check on my condition.
