I scheduled an appointment that was fitting for my schedule. Arrived, no one to greet or acknowledge my arrival. Tough process getting started. I do have insurance but it doesn't cover eye exams. I pay out of pocket. Was told I needed to give them my insurance information anyway, and was handed a long price list ( one of which takes time to discern. I stated clearly I was there for the $79 deal. I was told that is only to get people in the door. I could do the exam and take my prescription to Walmart or LensCrafters. I stated I came for a one stop visit, I am not going place to place. Was then told $79 is for single lenses. I said that's all I want. She then abruptly asked if what I had on is single lenses. "Yes" I never knew till I was placed in an exam room that it is 'hybrid exam' woman with heavy accent came on screen. Difficult to understand her. Ended exam with office assistant and hybrid lady talking at same time. In a hurry there because they have very limited staff. I was then informed my script was on hold. I need to see a doctor, WOW. I later received an email my appointment was cancelled. Thankfully they had the decency to tell me there was no charge. If you have any diseases, eye problems, or past problems this is not the place for you. The lady who walked in after me, but waited on before me, had never been given a receipt, didn't know when her glasses would be there and is on her second trip. A woman in the section to pick out glasses was aggressively being talked into more options, more expensive glasses and though she had an unhappy child with her, the attendant persisted. I went to Stanton optical last week I need some glasses as I could get my eyes to adjust My eye doctor has moved away so I needed glasses in 1 week I called Stanton Opticsl one of those make it today Buy one pair get one pair I was sceptical of a rip off So I took Rick Got appointment right away Went over an picked out 2 pairs of the cheapest frames Then I waited They did all the testing right there even the puff test they looked behind my eyes Nothing to report on than process I did not buy any upgraded Then I turned over my older glasses I wanted to see how this was going to work I was seated in the optical This Stanton has two One with a live person one with off premise doctor I went this the off site because I'm always do cutting edge It was so easy an assistant set up the eye checker thing one doctor came on line like in a tv monitior I could see him and he could see me He controlled everything remotely I was like this is so bizarre way of the future He went over everything Read this see that which is better one or two I asked to go back and he did He did both eyes The assistant came in and adjusted to reading both eyes were tested again By the man in the box Then I was done I returned to the waiting room and to have just regular glasses for my nearsightedness the 2 pairs were $79 Then to add progressive near and far $175.00 for 2 pairs But I've Have to wait 1 week Just enough time I'm thinking these are going to be the biggest waste of my $$$$& but I went for it I did not order Sunny's or Transitions 1 week later glasses are here I go into the store Pick'em up Seem ok It's been 2 long days There perfect I can read signs read my iPhone read a menu and signs at the airport The frames are not my usual $350 but these are great for travel and keeping in my luggage Yes, I would go there again and next time I would step up the frames When I get home I'm going to visit them again about changing out some of my lens to the new prescription Yes, they gave me a copy of the prescription for travel just in case Hope my review helps Stanton Optical read more

I did take my prescription in from my regular eye dr.; however, they did the lens. The first pair didn't work and when I went back in, the store manager Aaron, took one look and re-measured, re-ordered and when I picked up, they seem to be working. I had such a disappointing experience today at Stanton Optical. The only reason I am giving them two stars is because the ladies working there were sweethearts and they were just terribly understaffed. I was there a total of two hours for an appointment that should've lasted 45 minutes max. There were so many other customers there waiting as well who I assume had appointments like I did. It is terrible management to have this many booked appointments and not enough people to tend to the customers. I wish they would've called and told me that they were understaffed so I could reschedule for another day or just somewhere else completely. The first red flag was the ancient equipment that was clearly faulty. When I finally was called back for my eye exam, 30 minutes after my appointment time, the lens was blurry even after cleaning it so it certainly affected the results of the exam. I was also very disappointed when I was told that the optometrist worked remotely and the assistant would be conducting my eye exam. I have never heard of this before, nor do I think this is good practice. I don't think that a person can give an accurate prescription on my eyes when they're not even there. My previous doctors always took the time to look ay my eyes personally. They did not warn me that there would be no doctor on site anywhere on the website when I booked my appointment. I don't think this should be allowed as a practice. To add to this, the doctor is not even synchronously participating in the appointment. The doctor can take however long he wants to log onto his computer and look at the results to give me my eye prescription. Since the assistant cannot prescribe me anything I had to wait for the doctor to look at my results remotely and create my prescription. In my case, it took at least 20 minutes. When I tried on my new contact prescription it still wasn't correct. I ended up asking for my old contact prescription that I had been using. I think this is due to a combination of equipment, not working correctly a.k.a. the foggy lenses in the eye exam and the doctor being absent. You could not pay me to return to this business. Again, the two ladies working were amazing and kind but the management and how the business is set up is incredibly flawed. I would not recommend this experience to anybody! This was hands down the BEST eye doctor visit my daughter has ever had, and I've been taking her to traditional eye doctors for years. After coming to Stanton Optical, we found out she had actually been wearing the wrong lens prescription this whole time and I'm honestly so grateful we came here. Dai was absolutely amazing. His communication was outstanding, he was friendly, patient, and had such an outgoing personality. My daughter felt comfortable with him right away, and that meant everything to me. He made the whole process easy and stress-free. We picked out two pairs of glasses, and one of them was made within 30 minutes of being there! My daughter was SO excited. I seriously can't say enough good things about the team at the Carrollton location. The customer service was incredible, everything was fast and easy, and the pricing was amazing. On 6-6 my partner and I went to Stanton optical on Howell Mill Rd, the customer service was excellent, the upselling not so great, we went in expecting to spend around $250 each it ended up being right around $700, but the kicker is we still do not have any glasses. We were told 1 week in the store, but ended up speaking to a rude customer service agent that told me "It will be two weeks, what part of that did you not understand" I explained that in the store they said one week, the response was, is there anything else I can help you with. needless to say after I receive all 4 pair of my glasses Stanton Optical will not be my go to place for replacement glasses. I ordered some new glasses online paid $200 with the Prescription I received from Stanton optical and I love them and it only took 5 days to receive them. My daughter worked with someone named Jennifer, and she was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She made sure my daughter felt comfortable the entire time. We laughed, we smiled, and the whole experience was just incredible. I have never felt so much genuine care from someone we had just met. Jennifer took her time and patiently helped my daughter learn how to put in and take out her contacts. Even though it took quite a while to get them in, she never rushed us and stayed by our side the entire time. ZERO out of 10. Do not recommend this place at all! No optometrist onsite. They will not let me talk to one. No one will help me understand what I need for my eyes. Absolutely disgusted with this experience. I sat on hold forever trying so hard to talk to an optometrist so that I can try to get a pair of glasses that will work for me and they will not let me talk to one. Where to begin, store layout- men's/women's/sport/children's. Give us a hint! Eye exam done remotely by someone whose first language wasn't English, couldn't understand. Store manager with his used car sales tactics to after sell and build commission. Then hands over total cost (well over $1,300) with NO explanation of various add-on's cost. Then without asking adds $116 in warranty cost. When I got home I noticed errors on receipt, I have spoken to 3 "customer service rep's Who all admitted their was a mistake and I would be contacted within 2 days to begin the refund process (they also didn't have English as a first language, very hard to understand) As you can guess never got a call back. just now New I really did not have a good experience coming here. I spent $500 on a six month supply of contacts and one pair of glasses. After waiting a week and a half for my contacts to arrive I was handed two different boxes for my left eye and my right eye. When I got home and realized the employee's mistake, I called the store and was treated very rudely. I was told if I opened the boxes already there is nothing they can do. That they do not Verroi the customers order before they hand it to the customer. They had no idea why I had two different contact boxes or why the boxes looked different. Now I am out of the free trial contacts and I'm told I need to bring my six months supplies back to wait two more weeks for them to get the order right. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever encountered! 1- Waited over 2 months for 2 pair of glasses. 2 - Glasses were to shipped, after 2 phone conversations where the address to ship was given it was never done. They had no notes regarding shipping. When I questioned the representative helping me had no answers. I was hesitant to come here due to reviews but needed glasses as they claim "same day". I am writing to formally complain about my experience at (7526 Bandera Rd San Antonio, TX 78238)today with an associate named Veronica. Despite showing her a valid offer from your website, she repeatedly refused to honor it and provided inconsistent pricing for the same items. When I clarified that I only wanted the standard components and no add-ons, she became visibly upset and unprofessional. she simply added the same frame to both orders and rushed to close the transaction. This place is a joke. They don't mention they have independent doctors when you go there. It's mentioned briefly on their website, but it does not elaborate what independent doctors are. There are many people that do not know what this means. They seem to only want to sell you glasses or contacts. The eye exams are jokes because since the exam is through a TV doctor, they don't give you a thorough exam. You do not have the option to speak to the doctor if you have any concerns. I was misinformed about the special that lured me to try their services. I wasn't told about the free anti-glare promotion with the 2 for $79 glasses, and was almost charged an extra $80 for anti-glare with the glasses I was urged into buying, which of course was more than the ones for the special.
