I had my first visit at Eyecare Redefined last month for a long overdue contact lens exam, and I was not disappointed. The practice has earned their highly-rated Google reviews. Dr. Chappell is highly knowledgeable, personable, and thorough provider. It's clear he values giving each patient consult the time and care they deserve. He was attentive to all my questions as he went over the results of my eye exam in detail, even the questions that were for my own curiosity. He even did a rapid scan of my meibomian glands, the glands that are apparently responsible for secreting the oil that lubricates the eye (from what I understand), showed and explained the results, and recommended I start taking Omega-3 supplements. I really appreciate a provider who respects patient autonomy and involves them in their care choices, rather than talking down to them in a paternalistic way without explaining why. My favorite part, though, was not having to endure the dreaded machine that shoots pressurized air into your eyes. That part sealed the deal. The office and waiting room itself was clean, comfortable and modern. His front desk attendant was very helpful in picking out my eyeglass frames from their selections for me, and even took the time to check my insurance coverage depending on the type of lens I wanted. I liked the range of styles they had. It felt like there was a little something for everyone. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience, and I would recommend anyone in the Katy-Fulshear area looking for an optometrist to schedule a consultation. read more
