This place is a joke and they make requirements to enter as if they're a clinic. The receptionists are all rude and disrespectful, they think they are managers. They are rude on the phone as well as in person. I don't recommend this place at all besides the doctor. My husband and I were searching for a new optometry location as we had a less than stellar experience in our previous clinic. We decided to try Clarity Eye Care based on the reviews and proximity to our house. We were greeted in a kind manner by the front-office staff with warm smiles. I liked the fact that we did not fill our paper forms but rather laminated ones. I am assuming this is to ensure patient privacy. Also, the interior design of the clinic was modern and chic. My husband and I saw Dr. Bao. He was professional yet personal. Dr. Bao is very knowledgeable and gave us thorough explanations (our first time in a long time that a doctor provided such information). The staff were also patient with my indecisiveness when it came to choosing glasses, etc. Overall, I would recommend Clarity Eye Care to anyone looking for good optometry service in Katy. Felt like after the initial exam there was a lot of ...... you should buy our special eye drops and mask, you should come back for a dry eye evaluation that is not covered by insurance, you should take a look at our glasses. Dr. Bao Hoang was very informative and attentive to my needs. I've always worn glasses and this was the first time considering contacts. I was able to walk in with no appointment and was done in no time. The kids played in the waiting room as I got my exam done. Dr. Bao Hoang took the time to show me how to put my contacts in and how to take care of them (wash them, when to dispose, etc.). I even received a few sample contact solution to last me for awhile. This place is not what you want. The doctor never even checked on my rx when I picked up my glasses. The technician in charge of sales for the frames had no knowledge of their inventory and told me that they had brands that they did not have there and made no attempt to get those brands for me once I was more specific - even though I thought I was quite specific before I even came in because I called and came quite a distance to come to this place specifically because of her answer. Which was incorrect. I spent $1200 getting slightly updated prescriptions put in already existing frames for sunglasses and eyeglasses that I already had - they tightened my sunglasses so tight I almost broke them to get them on and off my face and did nothing to help my glasses fit my face - complete waste of time and I'm absolutely furious - no one there seems to have any training or understanding of being an eye care professional. Btw the $1200 charge with them was with my insurance !!! I have no idea how they charged me so much. I cannot tell you to avoid this place like the plague with enough !!!!! I am furious. I feel fleeced. And I still need new glasses and sunglasses. read more

I wouldn't get a pair of glasses anywhere else. My exams here went smoothly even with 2 babies in tow, plus I found the glasses that I wanted same day out of their broad selection. The staff and drs here are very understanding to children and life in general. Family owned establishment with staff that are very attentive and kind. A year later and I need resizing and a screw came loose off my glasses (babies became toddlers by this time), I called in and once again had the best service a working mom could ask for. Visited them to get a glasses and contacts exam. Both doctors were there that day and they were really nice. I had the man Dr. Hoang and he was very thorough and answered all of my questions. They have high-tech machines including one that sped up the exam by not requiring dilation--which is great because it was nice not having to be dilated when I headed back to work. He was very thorough in all of the exams and happily explained everything to me. He was extremely friendly and patient with my questions and took his time with my appointment, showing genuine care about the health of my eyes. We're new here in Katy and looked at yelp for best eye doctors in the area. I chose this clinic since it has excellent reviews in yelp and it's close to our house...and no kidding, this clinic really deserve a 5-star review!!! I thought the previous eye doctors I used back in Colorado were great but Dr. Bao is hands down the GREATEST of them all! He's the only doctor who suggested I use daily contacts and explained to me the pros and cons of the daily vs monthly contact lenses. I really appreciate that he's not in a hurry to dismiss me and took time to explain things to me. He's very approachable and knowledgeable. I also like the fact that their receptionist/assistant is very friendly. It's love at first encounter for me with this clinic and I'm really happy that I now have an eye doctor/clinic that I can be with until I no longer need one (which probably won't happen)! read more

My husband and I saw Dr Bao for our yearly exam. He was very patient and thorough in explaining everything to us. We really like the machine used for examining the retina. It was a newer machine then our previous eye doctor had and is a great alternative to drop dilation. He spent a good deal of time on the images and compared them to abnormalities that he screens for. Two members of his staff helped me select frames that complimented the shape of my face. I appreciated that they had a keen eye for aesthetics. I could not be more complimentary of Dr. Bao Hoang and his team. On a Saturday morning I got a piece of wood in my eye while cutting some cedar. I gave it time to get out with flushing etc. but the pain got worse and became unbearable. Finally at 1:40 my wife started looking for someone to help. Dr. Hoang booked for 2pm which was his closing time on a Thanksgiving weekend. He took his time, explained everything to me, removed the particle, washed by eye and gave me a protective contact along with a prescription. He did this all very graciously and without rush even though the whole staff stayed 45 minutes past closing time. She explained things clearly and precisely. They have the latest advance technology. No need for air puffs and there is even an option to examine your eyes without pupil dilation. They also have a kiddie corner for your little one's entertainment. The office is immaculate and the decor sets the mood. No sterile doctor office here. With an eye doctor on every corner, I was pleasantly surprised to see that this office is not like the 2 others I have been to in the neighborhood. First, the doctor spent almost an hour with me and took time to explain to me why my eyes were itchy and burning. I also have always had a very hard time getting my prescription right because when they say is 1 better or 2 my eyes almost start to get confused. For the first time, I walked away with a glass prescription that is perfect. Finally, I was not obnoxiously upsold expensive glasses or lenses.
