I needed an eye exam and a pair of glasses for a DMV appointment coming up next week. I looked up this place on line and there ad said you could get eyeglasses quickly. I made an appoint today for 3:00 pm. When i arrived they took me right in began my eye exam Dr Nguyen was very thorough and professional I was very impressed with all the young women who helped me Dr Nguyen, Jenna, and Michelle my eyeglasses will be ready Monday so I'm thrilled with this place. The associate helping me was talking down to me the whole time and making me feel highly insecure and was uninterested in my opinion. Also would not let me look around on my own, forcing me to try on only the glasses she was picking out. The selection is good but the service left us flat. The actual total came to $200+ over the original quote. In fact, they were very reluctant to give an actual quote. My husband selected them because of the "quote" and the service before purchase. It was the actual total and the lack of service after purchase that was a disappointment. They just delivered the glasses without an adjustment and gave verbal care instructions without any cleaner or cloth. Next time he will use Penny's optical department - like I do - for their service. I will tell you for a fact, that my experiences have not always been positive with Eyeglass World. My overall outlook on that was altered this week however, based on the interaction I had with Denise. I was expecting at least some minor conflict, but saw none of it. Denise was professional, she was thorough, and she took some extra time to try and understand my history. She provided a remedy to my challenge that completely exceeded my expectations. I would have given this spot five stars after helping my mother out with her two pairs of glasses. Everything was perfect until it was time to pick her glasses up. I wheeled her in and was greeted by the staff and we would be serviced. Seems like there was a gentleman in before us, a couple walked in and was greeted and serviced immidiately. The staff then walked back out and approach the other gentleman waiting for his needs. She then proceeded to the back after a quick glance in our direction. My Son broke the arm on his ray bans playing with them. Was able to get them replaced the same day. Yes there was out of pocket cost for them. She went above and beyond. Calling other stores and picking them up from that store for me. Then my husband lost his Oakley's. Yes we like Quality. She stayed in our budget to get another pair. Added and removed things to make sure we could get that pair, like I said in our budget. My contacts had an issue also. They got mailed there instead of my home. But Danniell made sure as soon as she saw my name to call me. She is the reason I keep going back! Goes above and beyond every time. read more

By far the most incompetent business I've ever had the misfortune of coming in contact with. Had the eye exam and ordered the glasses. They were very expensive but if they worked, fine. I didn't hear from the store for two weeks and called them. The lenses had come in and I would get a call the next day to come and pick them up. No call. I called again and they said that they would do them the first thing in the morning and call me when ready. No call...this happened two more times. The last time they said they would be done by noon and, of course, they would call. NO CALL! I went to the website and said I wanted my money back. Suddenly, about 3:30 I get two calls saying my glasses are done. Forget that...I want my money back. Still waiting to hear from the company. read more

My son is a rambunctious little boy, so when I got him glasses, I knew I would need a protection plan. I spent $170 total for my sons glasses and boy am I so glad I did. I visited Eyeglass World on Sunrise Blvd. today to get a pair new work glasses. I'm in construction and all the dust, debris and sweating really do a number on my lenses. I have a pair of Oakley metal frames which are in great shape, only the lenses are scratched, anti glare coating is fading due to the salt in my sweat so I asked if they could just cut me new lenses to fit the frames. They had the exact frames I have on display in the store for $223.95 but my frames were just fine. The lady helping me said she would have to take my glasses in back for the technician to look at and see it it was possible. When she returned I was told they would not be able to cut lenses to fit my frames and would have to buy new frames. When question why they were unable to do so, but they would be able to cut the same lenses for the same Oakley frames I had she had to return to the technician as to why. When she returned this time I was told the technician couldn't cut lenses for my frames because the screw threads would strip when taking them out of my frames. I questioned her as to HOW the technician knew the screws would strip, and had they stripped, I would be glad to buy new screws. She said they were unable to do so and it was at this point in knew I was a victim of the ole UP SALE. I came home, removed the screws, cleaned the edges of the lenses and the groves of the frames, replaced the lenses AND screws and will never go back there ever again. read more

I truly cannot believe how poorly I was treated at this location by the manager Mark Holcomb. My son was very clear that his new glasses did not provide clear vision. We simply wanted to have glasses that could be used at school. We received a cursory secondary exam and we were told that the glasses were correct. My son insisted they were not clear. Nonetheless the manager made my 8 year old cowe and lose his confidence.. truly an awful experience for my child and myself. Seriously amazing customer serivce. Stopped by on a whim to see what they had and was told about all their discounts and offers. I found a pair of sunglasses and a pair of regular glasses in under 5 minutes with the help of the amazing staff. Finding glasses usually takes me an hour because nothing look rights and I end up settling. Nope I found not one but 2 pairs and can't wait to get them. I wasnt pressured to buy or anything. Just hey try these and got honest feeeback. Thr manager was on site too and said how much he liked what we picked. It was so nice to hear becuase my glasses usually dont get conpliments. I am so pleased with the service of the entire staff. I had my eye exam and bought two frames for a total of 78 dollars (exam included in the price) !!!! Can't beat that. I had the help of Nicole who was so genuinely kind and took her time with my indecisive-ness, and was so helpful. The turn around to fill my prescription was 2 hours!! Walked in and 2 hours later picked up two frames and walked out finally being able to see the leaves on the trees again. I visited the Eyeglass World at Birdcage last Saturday. AMAZING service, very friendly staff, super helpful, and beyond patient with me as I checked out frames. Michelle took VERY GOOD care of me, explaining how progressive lens work, explained in detail the various choices of lens, costs of various options. As part of their operating procedure, she then had the lab manager, Martin double check to be sure all was good to go, which it was! This is a great place. I ordered three pair of glasses ~ progressive everyday glasses, progressive sunglasses, straight reading glasses. Very good luck with two out of three, but everyday glasses slightly 'off'. Not their fault, just needed some adjustments. Jenna was soooo patient with me until I was finally satisfied. I always have a problem with glasses and many times accept and then don't wear, but at Eyeglass World I had someone who truly cared and wanted to "get it right". Thank you, Jenna. Six months after cataract surgery and experiencing daily headaches due to the large differences in vision between my two my eye doctor recommended different lenses for me to make up for the change. Their receptionist called Eyeglass World in Citrus Heights where I had bought my glasses to make an appointment for me to do just that. She experienced difficulty in explaining what was needed to the manager there. After answering her many questions the receptionist gave up and handed me the phone. After going over her same questions, with my same answers as the receptionist, the manager still didn't understand what was needed. I then decided to spend my money with another company. read more

I would have given 5 stars but I purchased the insurance thinking it completely covered damaged AND LOST/STOLEN glasses! That was what I was told the insurance covered. I recently broke up with my boyfriend and somehow all of a sudden my glasses for distance are missing, so thinking I had the insurance on my glasses that I paid a little over $400 for (I got the BOGO promotion but one pair for distance and 1 pair for reading) I called the location and was told that lost and/or stolen is not covered under the insurance but they would gladly give me UP TO 80% OFF of my pair of glasses! I'm so upset because basically I purchased the insurance because I was lead to believe it covered EVERYTHING and I don't have medical insurance that covers vision so I paid out of pocket so it was a good thing to purchase (plus I think that they include that in the quote of your initial cost of buying glasses). I moved out of the home I was living with my boyfriend and I'm on my own so I can afford to go in and pay 60 to 200 to replace my glasses I WAS TOLD I HAD COMPLETE INSURANCE ON. The customer service and the eye doctor there were awesome (except if they dilate your eyes its $10 and they don't tell you that) but to me if they are gonna sell insurance make sure that the staff ALL KNOW WHAT THE INSURANCE COMPLETELY COVERS because to me I feel now I was lied to and now that I need to utilize that insurance now I have to pay AGAIN for glasses and then pay AGAIN for a new set of glasses...IM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND FEEL LIKE I GAVE AWAY $40 FOR NOTHING read more

I broke my glasses and heard that you could get your glasses same day here. I did read the website where it isn't guaranteed, but set an appointment anyway. The appointment was fast and easy very friendly staff all around from the exam room to the sale floor. The doctor was very professional and friendly as well. I was helped by J.R. he answered all my questions in full detail and made sure I understood. He even went over all the lense options and made some suggestions. Due to the lenses I wanted same day wasn't available but that was ok the glasses I found I loved. He informed me two weeks wait but I was called in a week fastest I have ever received glasses. I will most likely return. They also give you recommend cards so you give to people they go you get a gift card of your choice for Target, Amanzon, Panera, or Starbucks I believe of $25 bucks. read more

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!! Everyone from Dr. Jennifer Nguyen to the entire staff team was amazing. Dr. Jennifer was extremely patient with me throughout the entire glass and contact exams. Dr. Jennifer answer all my questions and she truly does care for your eye health. She doesn't make me feel rush throughout my exams. The sales staffs and lab staffs wrre truly understanding when it comes to which frames I like and how I like my glasses to fit on me. The sales staffs are always there asking if everything is okay or would I like to see a different glasses in the drawers. I don't find that annoying becahse at least they are truly trying to find me the right pair of glasses. One of the sales rep gave me dofferdnt type of frames to try on since I'm always in black frames and rectangle shape. No, I don't feel that she is talking down to me at all. I feel like she actually trying to get out of my comfort zone and try something different. And when I told her I really like my comfort zone she helped me pick those type of glasses. Everyone here is wonderful. The staff greet you when you walk in the door, provide great customer service and my glasses were made in less than 24 hours. What I really appreciated was they billed my insurance. I have previosuly gone to Stanton Optical, I felt like I was at a auto sales lot. I went here a few months ago to fill a prescription for new sunglasses. I love having prescription sunglasses! I don't like dealing with contact lenses and I only need correction for distance. The staff promptly greeted me and asked how they could assist. When I told them what I was looking for, they showed me their selection of sunglasses frames. My husband and I went through numerous frames, but I couldn't find one I liked enough to buy. One of the staff members came over and asked if they could help. I accepted. They asked for an idea of what frame shape I was looking for and picked out several pairs for me to try. We were able to find a pair a liked, so I went ahead and purchased them. Since it's been a while, I don't recall exactly how long it took for them to fill my prescription. I do recall, however, that it didn't take long. The staff here is friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. I removed a star, because I think their selection of sunglasses is somewhat lacking. read more

Fairly new place. Close to my house. I was getting ready to go on vacation and my eyes were bugging me. I was able to make an appointment that same day. The store was clean and bright and the staff seemed to all be in high spirits. They seemed genuinely happy to work there. My kid tagged along with me. Her glasses RX was with Stanton Optical. She was in need of replacement glasses. They immediately called Stanton and didn't give up until they found someone to fax over her RX. My exam revealed that I did need correction and fit me with contacts. I told them that I had to file my own claim in the past for VSP using Stanton. JR got on the phone and was able to get my claim done right away. JR also really spent a lot of time working with my daughter, who was buying her own glasses for the first time. He helped her understand her options and even assisted her in not only choosing the right frames, but the most economical outcome for financial situation. Her glasses were ready within about an hour. I went in with my husband on a Saturday and we were greeted by Danniell who was very friendly and informative. She checked to see if there was an available appointment which there was and my husband was seen by Dr. Nguyen I believe was the name I read on the door. He said it was the most thorough eye exam he had received and we had just had ours done at Kaiser recently but he felt there had been more of a change in his eyes than their test had shown, and there was. Once he finished with the exam and he had picked out glasses we were taken care of by Mark. He was very helpful without being pushy. He had my husband tell him all the things he was looking for in his glasses as far as lens material and type of protection. He was informative without being pushy or trying to up-sell us with a more expensive pair of specs. The turn around was great, same day pick up which was super helpful cause my husband had stepped on his glasses the night before! Over all great experience and I will come in when I need a new pair. Far more professional experience than when we went to Stanton Optical on Madison a couple years ago, what a crap show that was! read more
