All the staff were amazing. My daughter lost her glasses in the ocean and we had to find a way to get some right away because she has a high rx and without them she can barely see her hand in front of her face. We went in and Suzanne was amazing. She was very friendly and was able to help my daughter get 2 pair of glasses for way less the her original glasses cost. The prices were amazing. We were able to get both pair the same day. They also take insurance even thought we did use mine. The only thing is they are across from the Daytona speedway and there was a concert so the parking lot was packed and traffic was heavy. read more

I had a great experience at this store. The last time I had my eyes checked was 4 years ago, so it was time. The staff were busy but courteous. But there were 2 people who really stood out and made it an excellent experience. The eye doctor who did my exam, and the sales associate who helped me pick out my new glasses. The eye doctor who saw me was warm, caring, and answered all of questions in a way I could understand. She found that I needed progressive lenses - for the first time- and explained everything to me, including why it was time to move to progressives. Then it was time for the part I was dreading the most- picking out new frames. This is always the hardest part because I can never easily find frames that I truly love. The sales associate that helped me was Ruth, and I had a fabulous experience with her! She took the time to learn my preferences. We must have looked at every single set of frames in the store! The nuanced differences among them are everything. But she took the time to talk through my likes and dislikes. She helped me narrow it down to color, style, and shape of my new frames. I ended my experience by ordering 2 pair of glasses and I'm so happy with my selection. Plus, the prices were fantastic! About 2 years ago I went to Eyeglass World and got two pairs of glasses and paid for a very expensive optometrist appointment that did not give me the full exam I was told I would get, they did not dilate my eyes. They seem like good glasses but the other day one pair broke, the arm came off. I brought them in today to see if they would repair them and the optometrist said that the spring broke and they would not repair it. I've bought eyeglasses that lasted for 8 or 10 years before, I still have a pair of those actually. I would not recommend Eyeglass World as glasses breaking in just a few years seems to be poor quality. read more

One of the worst experiences of my life. First they say "you will get the glasses the same day"-so not the true. I had to wait 5 days. Apparently you pick out the frames that are out for display (where everyone puts them on and off. When I finally got the glasses 6 days later I had to wait for about 1/2 hour before they got to me. I put them on, didn't notice a difference with wearing them or not, took them home same result. I went back the next day, the optometrist put me in the chair and showed me the difference-I did see clearer however they never tested me with the glasses. They did put a non glare coating on it, so I had to wait another 3 days. You get 2 pair of glasses, and the other pair I had to wait 1 week and a half for. When I got those, I had to hold the glasses out a foot or so to see. The customer service (I waited and no one looked at you or said they would be with you), quality and everything was horrible. read more

The worst retail experience I've had in a long time. Shoddy, cheap quality frames, poor workmanship, and service after the sale, forget about it... unless of course you buy the extended warranty. Now they'll have all the excuses and reasons "why" I'm unreasonable and all the things I did wrong but at the end of the day I spent a lot of money on the glasses, I'm the customer, and I ought to be treated with some respect instead of made to feel like an idiot. read more

After a disappointing and failed experience at a competitor I decided to try this Eyeglass World location and I don't know if I could of had a better experience. I booked the same day appointment online and also made them aware of my vision insurance provider, the general manager called me awhile later and confirmed my appointment and also verified some additional insurance info and told me he would call me back once he confirmed my policy was accepted at Eyeglass World and he did an hour later. I arrived for my appointment on time and was directed to the back of the store for my scheduled eye examination, being this was my first time here I had to fill out a few documents but it wasn't ridiculous and what I'd consider pretty minimal actually and non-invasive. The staff in the doctor's office were amazing, friendly and very helpful beyond what would be expected or necessary - there was a slight delay in getting the examination underway and it appears by some of the other reviews that this was part of their frustration, once my exam started it was clear this delay was a result of how detailed this staff is, they are very through to ensure everything is correct. I actually appreciate this attention to detail, after all these are the only set of eyes I have and it's not like I do this often so it doesn't annoy me, plus wait for it wait for it I plan ahead and allowed enough time. The total time in store was about ninety minutes and I left feeling I accomplished what I needed to and that I established a long term relationship here so there won't be any hassle in the future... read more

The check-in area does have paperwork that must be completed and verification of your vision insurance is also conducted. I would recommend that you verify your vision insurance prior to going to any eye center. They took the time to check my vision adequately. I was able to select my frames without feeling rushed. I could not be happier with my experience. First of all they have the best price of anyone in the area. Buy one get one free. I got progressive lenses. They have a system where 2 people check to ensure correct. They are perfect unlike last pair I bought at a competitor. I am a fan of Oakley. I ride bicycle to exercise. The pair I picked slid down my face a little. They have a return policy of which they exceeded expectations. I picked a little more expensive pair of Oakley's to replace. Bob Ross the GM insisted that he would replace at no extra charge. I have new glasses now and love them. Reading all of these reviews from years ago and the fact nothing has changed. I was in for an appointment the last week and I was a new patient. Ever since I stepped foot in the place, I was uncomfortable. The two ladies at the receptionist desk in the back were very rude. The attitude of thinking they are all that started at the beginning of me saying hello and that I had an appointment. While I was filling out paperwork, I had to sit there and listen to them openly gossip, talk crap about a patient that just left, and one rolled their eyes at me due to me not knowing a question.. VERY unprofessional and these ladies need to grow up. I simply walked out. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you can deal with being treated like crap. read more

so i post a review yesterday and the manager today decides to call me with my private confidential information i provided to a "medical" provider, not to be called and harassed about a review i posted on yelp. this is totally unprofessional and i am sure against store policy. i will call their corporate office after my review and ask how this is in anyway acceptable and maybe my lawyer too. no one gave you the right to call and harass a customer about a review i posted on here. now i have called the corporate office at least a dozen times and left voice mails because no one ever pucks up the phone and you are just put on an endless hold until you can't tie up your phone any longer, and opt to leave a voice mail where noone ever returns your call. so I send an email to Nancy J as requested on here and just like the rest of the company, they don't care if you have a problem. they just post some meaningless comment on your review to try and manage the damge control. this company is just there to take your money and in no way willmale any effort to help you if you have an issue. there are many legit companies out there. I would have use lenscrafters as i usually do but i broke my glasses and needed a pair right away and this company was able to get me in right away. now i realize why, because no one goes there because of their customer service policies. save yourself the hassle find another place to handle your eyeglass needs. So this shows you how important customer service is with this company. after 3 days, i finally get a call bacck and they leave a voice mail. with a number to call back, but they leave a 9 digit number. I called before scheduling and they said they took my vision insurance. Was running a little late, 10 mins, and they just canceled the appt without ever calling me. Got there and they added me back in. Then they told me they don't take my insurance after I'd already sat there and filled out all the forms. Such a waste of my day. read more

Help! The ocean ate my glasses! No problem here. Stacy and the staff of Eyeglass World were helpful happy to assist me and super quick. Took care of my insurance filing and time on the phone with the insurance company, have a great selection of available, and happy to help with any price range. It only cost me about 2 hours of my vacation from the time I left my hotel to having new glasses in hand and being able to see for the rest of my trip. This morning I called their office to see if they would accept my insurance the gentlemen I spoke to sounded like he was unsure of where he was. Then he said they do take my insurance and I repeated to him if he was sure and he said yes. I went there and explained my reason for being there the man and woman at the desk said to look around for eyeglass frames I told them I spoke to Albert and he assured name they do. So I went looking for frames then I sat for almost 20 minutes until someone finally came over to assist me apparently the man an woman who were supposedly going to assist me forgot. Then the woman who ended up helping me said we do not take your insurance I told her what Albert had said she said he was new and didn't know I never got an apology or my gas paid. Was met by a very rude receptionist... Elderly gentleman in front of me had a pair of glasses he bought from them. The arm was broken on the classes. She rudely told him they were not under warranty and she doesn't carry pieces and parts and would not even look at them. He was turned away with zero assistance or politeness. After I sanitized and had my temperature taken I was asked to fill out a form... My husband who is driving me was asked to wait out in the vehicle. I'm not living in fear and I will take my business elsewhere. Why would I give these people $500 of my money to get new eyeglasses when we are treated like sheep. Hitler in charge here. read more

I made an appointment. When I got there was told the optometrist would not see me because I am a nurse and she didn't want to be close to someone who may have been exposed to Covid. I tried explaining to them that I don't even work on a Covid unit and I wear protection anytime someone is symptomatic but was still denied service. I was so embarrassed. I think they should make it clear when you make the appointment that they are not going to see health care workers. read more

towards the end of my eye exam my doctor had a heart attack and simply fell down and walked out. He ended up being fine but the manager nor anyone else spoke to me except one clerk that says we'll have to reschedule you can't have your money back. I rescheduled for the next week waited an hour got my exam when I went out but to get my glasses it was $150 more than I was quoted over the phone, manager got testy and said go ahead give him whatever he wants, oh by the way it's going to take 10 days can have them the same day. I want to Penney's Optical next door and got them for $200 cheaper. read more

My son broke his only pair of glasses Christmas eve, so today we went to Eyeglass world in Daytona Beach off International Speedway BLVD for a eye exam and new glasses. All of the staff was very helpful and kind to us. In particular the manager Mr. Bob Ross made my son a temporary pair of glasses to wear until his new ones come in within 7-10 days. He said it isn't safe for my son to be without glasses until his come in. He spent a lot of time out of his very busy day to make my son's needs his priority. I don't think anywhere else would have cared about my son as much as Mr. Bob did. He loaned us a pair of frames until my sons come in. Again, i want to thank Mr. Bob, I was freaking out about my son not having glasses for school next week and Mr. Bob made my son a priority. THANK YOU SIR! read more

Doctors are fine. Manager Bob is not customer oriented. While in waiting room to get contacts finalized - he came in yelling at employees that a customer was trying to use some coupon twice - in front of other customers - and they didn't run it thru the system properly. The poor lady was so embarrassed and apologized to us when she left the room. They aren't familiar with my insurance provider and tried to charge me ANOTHER $25 copay. When I said that was incorrect the lady waiting on me pointed to where it said '$25 CLFIT' which I already paid 3 weeks ago. Manager NEVER said a word to me and she gave me a copy of my scripts and now I have to order somewhere else. She pissed me off and I left. Called back to talk to a manager thinking he was smarter and he said 'oh I told her that was fine and to order them and not to charge you any more money'. That conversation was NEVER conveyed to me!!! I had went k Er all of the charges back on my first appointment and new what to expect - obviously if I'm not replacing some lost glasses for cash they really don't care about customers. Monday I will file a complaint against a provider with my insurance carrier. I hope no one else in the Daytona Beach area has to deal with this company trying to get more money than they are owed and go somewhere that treats you like humans. read more

I decided to give this location another chance, so far it's been a mixed bag. This review is not finished but I will update it as things progress. I had my eye exam April 8th and decided to wait for new glasses until the district manager got in touch with me. We played email tag for weeks (me emailing, him ignoring me, me sending more emails, etc) and I got a solid impression that he (CJ Collins) didn't give a lick about my previous issues here. That's always a great sign to find out the district manager has terrible customer service skills! *and breath* I was seen by the older doctor again since I liked him much better last time. He was very kind and very patient with me. I found the same issues this time too (final perscription was blurry, a bit off) so I spoke up (last time I just trusted the doctor (he was wrong) and ended up having to get re tested. Read my original review!) and found he listened well this time, I was relieved!! He tweaked it and then we tried some contacts. The ones he gave me burned really bad so he left me in the contact room, said he'd go see if he could find some other ones and and told me to leave them in and wait for my eyes to adjust and then didn't come back. After 5 mins of pain I couldn't do it anymore and took them out. After waiting another 10 mins I got tired of waiting and I went back into the waiting room to ask my husband where the doctor went. Apparently he was in with another patient!! He expected me to wait 30 mins with burning contacts?!?!?! Long story short the doctor said he would order some more trials in and that I could pick them up 'next week.' Skip to now (5 weeks later) I called last week to see if they ever came in since I was never called. The guy on the phone said it was written down but not actually ordered, apologize, and told me he would send for them and call me. I got a call tonight (about an hour before they closed) saying they came in and I told them I'd come over as soon as possible, probably just before they closed and they said "that's fine, we'll wait for you." I showed up with 3 mins to spare to find the doors locked and when I knocked they glared at me, waved me off, and mouth "no, too late." Talk about rude! I wouldn't have even bothered to rush over if I knew they weren't seriously waiting for me!! Needless to say customer service here is atrocious! I don't see this getting any better but I also don't know how it could get any worse. I plan on going back for some glasses so I'll update this when I do. Fingers crossed things get better... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update July 2018 I went back late last week to get another eye exam since I promised to give them another shot. The. Doctor here is great, he really takes his time with you and you can tell that he cares. Although I didn't like hearing how it's somehow my fault for not being able to see properly. Long story short, when he was done I told him I was still seeing somewhat blurry. I'm starting to wonder if he knows I have an astigmatism. The contacts he gave me are blurry too. I had the same problem last time. I'm wearing them now, per his request to "give them a fair shot." I'm nauseous and very dizzy, not to mention my vision is blurry in them. I'm getting a migraine just writing this update. Last time I just dealt with it and my vision severely paid the price over time. I'm not willing to do that again. All that aside, I promised to update this review and was told to note that my new glasses were free (my eye exam was not. Basically an $80 risk) but I am greatful they're still least trying to do the right thing. I'm going back today or tomorrow to pick up the new glasses. Hopefully the prescription is not the same as these contacts. read more

My glasses broke and they could not be repaired. Moved here last year and didn't know of which place to go because there are so many choices. Much cheaper than Lens Crafters. Got the good deal of two pairs for $78. They were ready in an hour and fit great. The staff is so friendly and fun. Loved Stacy the optometrist! She was great and funny. Everyone is very knowledgeable. Didn't feel like I was pressured into buying more expensive frames and lenses. Definitely using this place for my exams and for my glasses! read more

I was just there Saturday. I called in the morning and had made a same day appointment. The person on the phone informed me that i would likely be waiting for a bit because they were pretty booked, but I was ok with that. I was seen within the hour, and unfortunately I had two bring my two year old with me last minute. I was seen in under an hour and out within two. Everyone was very helpful seeing I was struggling with her and were very interactive with her. I went back to get my glasses Monday, and I was in and out in about 30 minutes with three pairs, all which they checked the fit on numerous times to see if I was happy. The prices are super fair here as well as friendly staff. You might have to wait a bit, but I don't really know if any medical appointments you don't have to wait for. I already recommended this location to a few people. read more

Entered the store about 11am on Saturday 3/4/17. Ended up walking out after 20 minutes as no one even acknowledged I was there. No one at the counter, no sign in sheet, nothing. This after browsing, and picking out 2 sets of frames, plus wanted to buy prescription sunglasses. Went to Lens Crafters at the mall down the street, was treated within 30 seconds. I was also at this location today, what a terrible experience. Called earlier in the day looking for a same day appointment and glasses, was told no problem we can see you at 3:45. I was there on time, filled out the forms and waited, and waited, and waited. 5:20 pm I was finally called in for my exam. I thought "wow, about time" only to be told by the eye doctor "oh, your information isn't in the computer" I need you to go back into the waiting room and I'll call you back in after it is input and she took another client into the room. About 15 minutes later, I was called back in and got the exam. I was told to go to the other room where the glasses were and someone would be with me right away, wrong. I asked 2 people is this where I go and what do I do next? 2 people said "We are very busy and will be with you but we have 4 people already waiting". I wound up roaming around the room since I had already been sent to pick out frames over an hour earlier. Fast forward it is now 6 pm before a person finally sits down with me about my glasses. My frames finally went into the lab at 6:20 pm to have the lenses put in. I got them at 6:48 pm. It took only 28 minutes to make the lenses but took me over 3 hours to get through the disorganized process. Oh, guess what for my inconvenience, they gave me 10% off my 2 pair of glasses only, which came out to $12.00. I would never recommend this location, check out other eye glass places even if they cost a little more money, you can make more money but you cannot make more time that you lost waiting on them to get their stuff together. read more

Went there bought two pairs of glasses on their "deal". Ended up spending a fortune for scratch resistant lenses. Although they are not scratch proof i can barely see through them. Quality does not match the outrageous price. Attitude towards fixing the problem was rude and helpless. read more

Well I had another experience with this place unfortunately. I got a bill from the optometrist along with 5000 other medicare recipients for something I already paid for. no number on the bill to Gulf Coast Optometry. So who do you call? Eye glass world, that's the building I walked in to. They gave me a number that doesn't answer and mailbox is full. Then he says, I don't know why folks are calling here. To which I replied because this is the door I walked in to and left my 700 dollars. Instead of saying yeah I get it but that's a separate office, proceeds to explain that Florida has been a two door state for fifty years. Like I am a lawyer and actually give a shit about that. This is the second eyeglass place I have gone to that if you have a problem, they insist on making excuses instead of just saying oops let's take care of business. I guess they are lucky like mortuaries will always have customers and as long as a few are happy they will drive enough business to make it worth while. I don't believe it's the business itself, I do believe it is bad customer service training. If it's because you get too many complaints in a day and you can't deal with it, move to another industry.
