When I contacted them, they had no record of my son's trial daily lenses or what brand he used even though he has been seeing them for several years. The receptionist had to ask me for my lens prescription, I'm not sure why she couldn't just look it up in my file? Originally our prescriptions were able to be sent to us via email, but when called, they told us they could no longer send them. Then when they did give us them in person, they were the wrong prescriptions. I tried several sets of trial lenses and none of them worked, plus I had to call to find out if they were in yet. Nobody ever contacted me. It took over a month to get my prescriptions readjusted. I was first seen in April of 2025, and didn't get a correct prescription update until June of 2025. I've tried to go there in person twice when they were supposed to be open, and they had closed earlier than indicated on their door and on their website. My trial contacts took over 3 weeks to come in and I had to call to find out they were in. In October of 2025 I received a bill for my visits back in April. I'm not sure why they didn't bill them for Insurance when I was seen the first time. Clearly the organization needs a stronger team. I recently called Lowell Eye Care several weeks before my CostCo optical appointment. I requested to have my records sent to Costco since I would be changing my optometrist. My files were never sent over after being requested. I will no longer be Lowell Eye Care.

Today I called and was informed that there is no order, no paperwork, no anything of my eyeglass order. She just dismissed the order because it made her more work, even though it is her job. Absolutely horrible service. They also did not acknowledge my secondary insurance towards the co-pay of the eye exam, and I am not getting reimbursed for that.

I've been working with MIchigan Optical for a long time now, and once again it paid off. The doctor I saw, Dr. Miller, did not introduce herself. She also did not ask if I had any questions, ask me any questions, or explain much about my updated prescription. The exam felt very brief and like details were missed. The exam rooms were rather filthy, lots of dirt on the carpets. The glasses around the store were also dirty and covered in fingerprints. To make matters worse, I didn't have glasses. I called this location in a panic, and the gals here truly saved my life. They got me in immediately, helped me get what I needed, and were so kind and understanding throughout the whole process.
