So, I had chosen the 2 pairs I wanted before booking & going for my appointment. See, with most people who are nearsighted, trying to look for glasses IN the store is hard, because we want to see what we look like, but can't see without our prescription on... LOL Having the ability to see them at home on my large computer screen was Super Nice! Also being able to see the prices & organize them by price or COLOR (I wanted Purple!) was great too! --The Check-In Process was quick & the forms that needed to be filled out were thorough. (I also brought my last 2 exam sheets from previous doctor) --The Pre-Exam tests were quick & efficient - done by a lady who knew what she was doing. --My exam was Awesome, Dr. Vincent was very nice & knowledgeable! She was quick, but spent enough time to answer all my questions and do a great job examining my eyes. She was even great at calming me down when I covered my right eye only to find out that my left eye had gotten super worse to the point I couldn't read the Top line With my glasses!! --Purchasing my two glasses was a bit more expensive than I thought it would be, even with the buy-one-get-one offer. It sucks that most insurance policies do not cover Eyes or Teeth, but yet they are both part of the body... Hum... Oh, and just to say, I got TWO PAIRS for $100. LESS than getting ONE PAIR from my previous eye doctor!! So, yeah, I got better service & saved money too!! --Overall: I will be back when I need another exam & glasses!! Thank You!!! They told me if I bought glasses from them they would give me all of the details of the prescription such as the PD measurement. Customer service is horrible. Have been going to this location now for approximately 14 or more years and have always been pleased with the service and friendly staff. I currently had an eye exam which went well, came in 2 weeks later and placed an order for new glasses spent $419.95 they had a special offer so I received 2 pairs. I waited about a week to receive them and when I tried them on they seemed a bit blurry and the technician told me I might just have to get adjusted to them, its happened previously so I did not hesitate to agree with her. I decided to put my old glasses back on since it was raining and I did not want to take a chance at that moment. The following day I put them on and noticed that I was having difficulty seeing and could not read anything on my computer. I called them up and they said to come in which I did. The technician looked it up to make sure it was the correct order, she said my issue was that I had ordered incorrectly that I was supposed to order multi focal glasses, this was never brought to my attention. Why would I waste my money ordering incorrectly. She said they could not do anything for me. Now I am stuck with glasses as souvenirs. They said no because I did not order contacts from them and I explained dined it was cheaper where I ordered. Meanwhile I ordered glasses from Eyeglass world. My experience taking my daughter their was very disappointing. Customer Service is something the staff definitely need to be updated with. I had a scheduled appointment it seem like it took forever and they were overbooked. Staff are very,very,very slow like they have no drive to work. Overheard doctor stating that he had a event to be at because he was aggravated with staff not moving properly to have patients ready for him. After we picked glasses out and went to go back to the lady was assisting us she went to chat with staff and the manager came to finish assisting us maybe because I was looking like this fool need to come finish helping us. Folks, Please do not go to this store for your glasses. They advertise you can get two pairs for a very low price, but there is a catch to it. The catch is when you get the two pairs for a low price, and your classes run out of warranty, they will stop or no longer sell the frame you brought. so when you come in there to try to get your glasses fixed? they won't fix them which means you will be stuck with a broken pair of glasses read more

my impression before coming in was that the eye exam was free if I ordered eyeglasses there. And, that eyeglasses were discounted. the optometrist was very nice. I was surprised I was charged $89 at that point, before ordering glassses i was shopping where the signs read 2 pairs for $129. I picked out two pairs, one for sunglasses. By the time I was finished the cost of my two pair was $670.00. ( in addition to the exam) I walked out without buying. I felt ripped off snd badly misled. I have been coming to this eyeglass world for a few years, the dr. I used to see moved to merritt island location and he was amazing and super helpful, probably one of the most caring medical professionals I have ever been treated by. He gave me several different brands of contacts to try out due to the fact I was unhappy with my previous brand. . Fast forward to today, I've been having problems with my contact lense in my right eye. The front desk staff was very friendly on the phone and was able to get me a next day appt. I got to my appt. early, and was seen right away. No wait at all. The doctor (Dr. Stein) however was by far one of the rudest and cantankerous people I have ever dealt with. He first off rubbed me the wrong way by informing me that I am mispronouncing my own name, and that it should be spelled with a "J" and not a "G" in the most condescending way. He then proceded to tell me that the reason for my issues with my contacts is because I have oily skin. This was after I explained it was mostly my right eye that bothers me. (I guess only my right side is oily?) I then explained to him that I don't think its oil, and that I get discharge coming out of my eye often through out the day, to where he said it was probably allergies (why it would only be my right eye is beyond me) mind you he hasn't even looked at my eyes at all. I told him I was interested in daily lenses since I've tried several brands of contacts, and I end up throwing 2 week contacts out way before two weeks because I get a film on the lens that does not go away even with soaking for days. I mentioned the fact that I've used acuvue oasis brand, but they ripped on me a lot. He then told me he has never heard of such a thing in the last two years, again in a very condescending and stern manner,(I guess I'm a liar). He then gave me a sample to try the dailies out before I purchase them, and made a huge deal about how he shouldn't be giving me this many to try. I guess I am supposed to make a decision on dailies off of trying them out only for one day? The other Dr. (The one I loved who moved to Merritt island) gave me 5 day trial with no issues, however at the time I went with a more inexpensive contact. He gave me the contacts and and told me to wear my glasses for a few days before trying them out, which was the only professional advice I was given. I then asked him where he had moved my purse in the exam room, because that's what he did when he first came in, because i set it on the floor beside me, and he looked at me and told me very rudely he doesn't wear women's purses. Thank god I was leaving because I had had enough. Having issues with my eye/vision to me is very serious and concerning to me. I never had this problem before, and I left with no resolution at all as far as the underlying issues WITH my right eye that is causing my contact to bother me. Let me start off by saying the one star that I HAD to give is for the young lady at the desk in the dr's office. I visited this location today after both my husband and my son had previously got exams there and had no problems. I got there about 5-10 minutes before my appt time and completed the paperwork needed as it was my first time there. The young lady who received my star (sorry I didn't get her name), asked me to remove my contacts and she did the ores teeming before I saw the Dr. There was no one else there so I was taken in for my exam immediately. The dr never introduced himself so I can't even give you his name. Throughout the exam I got more and more uneasy with the confidence that my exam was thorough. I was then informed by the dr that between the age of 49-45 our eyes change and I would need readers for up close. Really because I have never had an issue with up close but hey he's the dr right! So the exam was over and that's when it really went downhill!!! The dr put my chart on the front desk and disappeared back into the exam room closing the door behind him...pretty sure he had been drinking or something as there was the smell of alcohol during the exam. The young lady behind the counter asked if he had given me contacts and I said no. She then proceeded to knock on the door to get the dr. The door opened, she asked him about the contacts and he proceeded to give me a tongue lashing and that he didn't know I wanted contacts! REALLY!!! Why the hell did I even fill out the paperwork if you weren't going to review it and I put my contact case on the chair during the exam!!!!! I can go on and on about what happened next but I am NOW waiting for a trial pair of contacts to be ordered. Let's hope they got ordered! I then proceeded out with my prescription in hand to shop and order eyeglasses. After waiting for almost an hour while people were coming in and out of the store being helped, me standing there with my prescription in hand along with two pairs of glasses...still nothing...wait actually I did...one of the associates sitting at the desk just looking at me! Needless to say, I left very irritated, not very hopeful that my trial pair has even been ordered, no glasses, my old contacts in my eyes with no replacements left and $103 lighter in my pocketbook! The only reason I will return will to get my trial contacts, that's if they were actually ordered, along with my contact prescription and then I will be taking my business elsewhere!!! read more

First off, this is a full service location, which is nice. They have a real Optometrist and a friendly staff. Their frame selections cover children, women, and men, and can range from basic frames to designer ones. This location is not stuffy or cramped. There are no high-pressure sales or shady tactics (learn to say "No" people), and there are plenty of parking spaces. If you get an eye exam here, it's actually under the name of Shannon Optometry, and it's about $40. Can't beat that if you are unfortunate enough to not have insurance. My exam was a $10 co-pay. Their big advertisement is for two frames with single vision lenses for $79, same day service if you get in there early and have a simple prescription. I'll never obtain the $79 for two pairs of glasses deal. By the time I add anti-glare, anti-scratch, Transitions and Progressive options, I am easily over several hundreds of dollars for two pairs of glasses. This isn't a reflection on Eyeglass World, as anywhere you go you will incur higher costs if you pile on the extras. I have been to this location twice in 3yrs, and enjoy the Optometrist, Bruce M. Stein. He has this sincere, but frazzled "nutty professor" quality about him. read more

Many more options then LensCrafters or Pearle Vision. - Many inexpensive options plus a LOT of designer brands (more then the other two stores), including Coach, Burberry, Tory Burch, Seven for all Mankind, LA Ink, Daisy Fuentes, Anne Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Ray Ban, Vogue, etc! - They accept Davis Vision insurance (the other two stores don't). - Friendly staff... Although I didn't like how one saleswoman started with me, then began helping someone else and pawned me off to a different sales associate (hence the deduction of 1 star). - Low pressure sales - ie: they don't hover over you; they let you peruse the store and try on glasses at your own pace and will assist you when asked. All in all, comparable, if not competitive, pricing compared to the other two stores, but with a larger selection. I should have gone here first and saved myself hours of shopping around. read more

So first of all my 17 year old could not go to the appt.without a parent which is ridiculous, then we waited until 5:50 to be seen with a 5:15 appt. Then they tell you they need to see the inside of her eye but the dilation drops they use last 48 hours so of course you have to opt for the $20 machine test instead. Who the hell uses dilation drops that last that long?? So now the 2 pairs for $78 are really $98 plus the cost of the eye exam! Total scam! read more

I just came home from eyeglass world in west Melbourne Fl. First I had to ask two people were to go for exam. Next they had no record of me even though I have going there for 10 years. Unless you find the right person you can sit there all day and they will not help you. Upon going in for the exam the doctor said to me he is just there because the doctor quit and the do not have a replacement. Then he said that they just run customers through like cattle. And he was right he would not answer any questions I had an was rude. When I went to the sales floor again a rude woman who said that I can not us my frames an said I must buy new ones. Dr. Stein examed my eyes and thought did a good job, he was friendly and professional. The girl at the desk was very nice and pleasant. I thought the choices of eyeglass frames were awesome.. I just couldn't decide so many to choose from.. VERY nice frames.. I got an exam for $39.00 and TWO pairs of glasses with no line bifocals for $158.00... Can't go wrong for the price. brought my son here to get contacts. The Dr exam went fine and he was nice. The lady that helped us with the contacts was a different story. First we made an appt. and after the exam we had to wait about 30 minutes for her to show up to work. She gave my son the contacts and showed him a way to get them in then walks away...we were there for about 20 minutes and a gentleman came in the room and he saw that my son was struggling a little bit and gave him some tips and the lady went off on him in front of my son and told him it wasn't his place. His tip actually helped and my son was able to get the contacts in and out with no problem after that. She was very unprofessional and made my son uncomfortable. My son went to this place for contacts and it has been over two months and he still can't get his contacts. At first I was told by the manager that he was sorry, it was one of his staff members that made a mistake and forgot to order it and that it was unacceptable. He even offered to take care of it himself and give us a free pair for the inconvenience. Well I thought how nice of him, I understand that things happen. Said he would have them there in 7 days and would personally call me when they are in. Well its been 3 weeks and no phone call. I call him today and get a run around story. This review is about Dr. Stein, the doctor who gave my daughter her exam today. I will write another review about the store later today after I pick up my daughter's glasses. We walked in on a busy Saturday morning and asked if it was possible to see the dr. They happened to be between appointments and took us right in. My daughter is 13 and her prescription had changed but it will be a while before our insurance allows another pair of glasses and I didn't want her to wait. She can't see the board at school. So....with a little trepidation because of the recent review on here, we went to Eyeglass World to see Dr. Stein. In short he was wonderful. Very professional with my daughter. She was very nervous because he wasn't her regular doctor but he put her at ease with his attentive, fairly formal demeanor. I observed him interact with several patients that morning and he was listened to concerns and responded very appropriately. I was very impressed because the office was BUSY and in the time I was there, three other patients were greeted and information given and received. He worked quickly and efficiently. I have worn glasses for almost 43 years. I know what a good exam looks like. My daughter received a very good and thorough exam. The pressure in her eye was checked, he checked her optic nerve and he asked discerning questions to ensure that her prescription was accurate and she wasn't just saying "yeah, that looks better". i have never experienced an eye exam like this ever in my life and i've been wearing glasses since i was 10years old! on july 1, 2015 i went into this business to check out their collection of eyeglasses, i did not plan to get an eye exam but there was a cancellation so i took it. the staff was friendly and knowledgeable when I inquired about contact lenses but that dr. stein was rude as hell. i was told at "our" age that its common to wear bifocals (first of all dude is at least 20years my senior). jokingly(with a smile and a chuckle) i said please don't tell me that i need bifocals. he continually stated "it's your decision, do what you want to do, if you want to keep taking off your glasses to see then that's your choice". he made several snide remarks during my exam that I didn't appreciate. i mean really dude, lighten up! i'm not an overly sensitive person when it comes to situations like this, I just won't go back to that business but SOMETIMES IT'S NOT WHAT YOU SAY BUT HOW YOU SAY IT. i was the first customer there before they turned the lights on so he can't use "that he had a long, busy day" excuse smh. i'm new in town so i was looking for a place where i would have future exams but because of dr. stein they lost a potential loyal customer. i paid the $39 for the exam and left! read more

I brought my 7 year old special needs son in to try on some glasses. He has had a pair for over a year that he won't wear - the kind that are plastic, flexible and with the strap behind the head. This type of event is always very difficult and uncomfortable for him. He picked some right away, although would only keep them on his face for a few seconds. We worked with Frank, who was very calm and patient, and was able to measure his eyes easily. I called a few days later to make sure my optometrist had called in his prescription, and after Frank received it, he informed me of the type of prescription my son actually had (mixed astigmatism), and how it felt to see with it...something the optometrist never mentioned. I wondered why he didn't want to wear the glasses, said he could see fine, yet was always close to the TV or computer, and often tired. It feels so great that someone cared enough to tell me something that I feel is very important, especially in this case, where an explanation will probably help my son to know why it's important that he wear his glasses!
