I ordered two pairs of glasses just before leaving for an extended trip. I came to pick them up on the date they were supposed to be ready and there was a mixup - they were ready early and the staff had shipped them to me using UPS. Unfortunately UPS didn't deliver them in time so the manager, Christi, redid the order for me so I would have my glasses intime. Yes! Yes! Yessssssssss! FINALLY an eye Dr. and a place that LISTENS to me ! I went there, wanting contacts. I've tried MANY in the past, and they never feel right. It simply isn't going to work for me, but we discussed why it's not going to be an option. (bad astigmatism) My prescription is SPOT ON with Eagle Eye vision now :) I found a pair of INCREDIBLLY stunning glasses and my magical genie Optician, named Norma, hooked me up with a buy one/get one deal and I came out with not one, but TWO pair! One for fun, and one for a classier look. But the part I am THRILLED with, was that Norma moved down my bifocal line in my glasses. I've had bifocals for many years, and I always feel like that damn little line is always getting in my way. I didn't even know that it was an option to place it lower. I finally have glasses that are gorgeous, fit perfectly, and i no longer have to deal with that stupid line cutting 1/2 ways into my field of vision. WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE TELL ME THIS A DECADE AGO! I went in to get my prescription renewed and to check out some sunglasses. The girl at the desk, didn't get her name, was very nice and quick in getting me checked in. The doctor was nice and answered my questions. I was most impressed with Kallie as she was patient and gave me a few options with prices. She helped me find the right pair of sunglasses and a new pair regular ones. So we went to eyeglass world at the University Ave site and asked if they took our insurance and were told "yes". We explained that we only wanted to get what our insurance covered. After the exam we looked at their selection and they kept pushing the "high end" glasses, after that we picked the lenses out and other options in the end the sales person told us the balance due after the insurance payment was over $260.00. I'm not sure what to say except for WOW!!! I went to eyeglass world in Vista this evening and the customer service both over the phone and in store was way beyond amazing . Sara , the assistant general manager is who helped me , she went above and beyond for me . I honestly don't think Ive received customer service from any place that was as good as hers, for many reasons . I had called multiple different places before calling here and I'm so glad I ended up calling them as well. Horrible service, was helped first by one employee, she took my glasses to her desk after having me sit at a separate desk. She then proceeds to take phone calls and starts setting up appointments. Then when asked by another employee if I was being helped I said no but one took my glasses. She then grabs my glasses to see if there was more inventory that I asked about . Now a 3rd employee sits down to help me and informs me I can't get glasses due to expired prescription. Bad part is I called prior to coming in. I've worn glasses almost my entire life , and it has always been a pricey hassle to get a decent pair, vision insurance or no vision insurance. Last night, of course I sat on my glasses and broke them into a million pieces. So a hunt for glasses began. My mom suggested this place and I scheduled an appointment online for first thing in the morning. My appointment was at 10:45 and I walked out with a new pair of glasses on my face at 11:35. That in itself is mind blowing. What did I pay? $261 for two pairs of glasses with a glare coating and a protection plan AND the exam itself included in that price. Can't beat that people. I am never coming back to this location amd here's why: 1. When i walked in, the person who greeted me immediately asked, do you have insurance? I said yes, and she asked which one. It was odd to me so i asked if i needed to show proof of insurance to browse the glasses. She responded with no just checking. What?? 2. I needed a quote so i can compare monthly contacts vs dailies. A different lady said she can't quote me anything unless it has been prescribed by the optometrist. I asked if i can just get a price range for the dailies. She responded with so much annoyance, again, i can't give you a quote. Not very pleasant, so i got up and asked another person on their deals for glasses 3. They said that its buy 1 and 2nd pair 50%, off and that my insurance would only cover $37 for contacts. Seems odd and not the same deals i was told. I then realized i must have gone to a different location. I left and went to oceanside location 4. Oceanside is buy 1 pair, get the 2nd free!! My conatcts insurance coverage is $120. Why is this info so much better than the other location? The oceanside person helping me was so amazing and helpful. She was patient enough to quote me on different deals and contacts, so i could make the right choice on glasses/contacts combination Oceanside location is not far from this location. Trust me you will get better deals and treatment there. Never ever going to the vista location ever!!! read more

I was greeted instantly when I walked through the door by Norma, who stuck with me the whole time to help me find the right things. I ended up with a pair of glasses and sunglasses for an amazing price. Norma was honest about how different frames fit my face and was personable. Over-the-top customer service. The Pacific Ocean swept my glasses away on the first day of our short visit to San Diego, and I didn't have a spare pair with me. Oddly enough, the day prior, I had picked out a pair of glasses to be filled when I got home. My husband called eyeglass world, and they could not have been more helpful. In fact, once we told them what was going on, they were compassionate and understanding and worked quickly to begin making the glasses before we ever even got to their store. It took us about an hour to get there, and once I handed them the glasses to be filled, it was less than 30 minutes and they were ready to go. The only problem I had with this place is thatThe same lady who helped me just wanted me to buy something, she told me everything look good on me and even when I asked her to be honest if it looks good on my face so I proceed with purchasing the frames and the next day when I picked up a gentleman help me out because the lady was off , he asked who helped me cause the frames I bought looked too tight for me and it just didn't look right. I just had the best experience with Laura and Ken here. My son is five and broke his glasses - again! They were having a couple issues locating us in the system but Ken came over and said he knew how to fix the system and the glasses would be replaced for free. The same day! Fast forward five minutes and we realized that the frames weren't in stock. Ugh! Laura called around and we went to pick up the frames for free at another location. I can't say enough good things!! Three people in our family of five wear glasses and I will not go anywhere else. My husband works in the auto repair industry and it's tough on his eyeglasses. We bought the scratch resistant lenses and paid extra for a warranty on them. But being in the job he is, even the most scratch resistant still can get scratched. Which they have. Twice. Two times now he's gone in with his scratched lenses and twice now he has had a 100% HASSLE FREE experience using his warranty. And I mean that. We are so used to trying to use a warranty or having an issue and needing to jump through hoops to get the business to honor it. Not Eyeglass World. At least at this location. He walked in, gave his name and was told he'd have new lenses in a day or two. And he left with his original glasses to use in the mean time. And a day or two later he walked out with new glasses. That's it. He didn't have to fill anything out, make any follow up calls, nothing. They did exactly what they promised they would do when we bought the warranty. We are so impressed. And everyone is always super helpful and friendly. Whomever is managing this place is doing an awesome job. Thank you for making your customers feel like you care if they ever come back again or not. Exam was thorough and helpful. After that your escorted into the frame room where your to pick out the frames. Nice selection. The sales staff though Is a bit scattered,and tend to lose interest when others are around. Full salesman mode trying to make the sale as well. Then a full update on various lens options. The frames I got are nice, however the lenses are complete junk. The update on the anti glare is a joke, and they seem to scratch extremely easy. Wouldn't recommend purchasing from this outfit. read more
