I booked services at La Peau in Fresno for a bachelorette party of six. The week of the event, I…read morecalled to modify just my massage because I was five weeks postpartum, dealing with a painful PUPPP rash and stitches in my back from a biopsy. I asked if there was any way to adjust my service, and I was told they would work with me and that the owner would call me that week to discuss a solution. On the day of the appointment, I received my facial (which was fine) and was told again that the owner would reach out soon to arrange something for the unused massage portion. But I never received a call. When I followed up afterward, I was told that because I booked in a group, they would not offer any accommodation--such as store credit or gift card--even after explaining my medical situation. Given that I personally spent $360 and our group spent around $1,800 including tip, I expected a basic level of compassion, especially for a postpartum mom with an ongoing medical issue. I wasn't looking for special treatment, just a reasonable accommodation for a service I physically could not receive. Unfortunately, the lack of empathy and unwillingness to work with me given my specific situation was deeply disappointing. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this spa. It is located in a nondescript strip mall next to the dollar store, which is why it is so surprising it is so state of the art! We drive close to 100 miles to do this as we live all the way in the foothills of Fresno and is it well worth it! It is not one of those brightly lit places you have to squint in that are so hard to relax. This has soft Japanese music and running water for a whole hour. That seems more like 10 minutes. It starts out with a head massage that turns into multiple wonderful products being massaged into your hair and rinsed out with the scalp massage the whole time and different used to massage your head. Then there is a nice hand and arm. Massage lotion is applied and rubbed off with a warm towel, you can also add a facial to this at the same time which I think we will do! It is a wonderful way to treat yourself. The only way that this could be better is if there. Was an option for scented oils or lotion. I thought that last time there were some wonderful smells, but this time nothing was used that was floral or lavender. I think it would really make a difference if they added some type of aromatherapy or option for essential oils that would be a complete and perfect experience, I highly recommend them just the way they are but hope they will add the option for aromatic oils or products in the future! The lady on the phone let me know that the time I requested was available. I was actually surprised since it was so last minute! It's a very small but super cute salon, and very clean might I add. First impressions are everything so just by the looks of this place walking in, I knew I picked the perfect place to get my eyebrows done. My stylist was Elvia, she was seriously so kind and made sure to do my eyebrows exactly how I wanted them done. She asked specific questions on how I wanted them done so they would come out perfect, which they did! They used an organic wax, (not to sure of the name) but I really liked it and she wasn't rough with me at all. It was the best waxing experience I've ever had. Literally no pain!!
