They were helpful in setting up a referral to an eye surgery place to zap out my cataracts, then even more helpful when that place didn't contact me whatsoever but scheduled me for an appointment and told the eye doctor's office they had called, spoken to me and left a voicemail (They did both things? Really? Interesting, considering I received no voicemail and never spoke to them on the phone once. That review will be forthcoming and will very likely have a far different tone and tenor than this one). They went above and beyond to help me pick up the mess that the eye surgeon's office left me in less than a week before the surgery, so I was extremely appreciative of that. A little pricey, even for Fishers. Hard to get a prompt appointment. I called up and told them my vision was blurry and I had headaches by the end of the day every single day. See you in two weeks. Very good selection of eyeglass frames. They stay open late on Wednesdays. Good for us working stiffs as a way to pick up glasses and not take time off. This store has the worst customer service, and I barely got past the receptionist. She asked me to…read morescan something to get a link to their HiPAA policy. I scanned on my phone and set myself up in their system, then went to the next page and found a place for my signature. I looked more closely and there were (much smaller) indications of of whether I wanted their advertisements? (no) or whether they could they sell my data? (hell no). I asked where the HiPAA policy was and she said "it's on there." I showed her one page with login and the next page with the signature. She said, OH YOU WANT TO READ THE HIPAA STATEMENT? and I said yes (dummy). I would like to at least confirm that they HAD one. She ran to get a more senior person. Senior told me that the two pages is all they have. So Visionworks does not have a HIPAA policy (except "don't sell my data" ... really?) And all the while the receptionist was saying "yep. just like I told you, IT'S RIGHT THERE, I said that. Ohhhh, no I TOLD YOU IT WAS RIGHT THERE. OK maybe she was new and really wanted senior person to think that she knew what she was doing. But Visionworks has no HIPAA policy. It's not "right there." Then senior wanted me to sign something that said I APPROVED THE RESULTS OF MY EYE EXAM. Seriously? Before I even had the exam? But I know how these places want the customer to have all the data on file that they need to NAB you if you complain about anything. Senior started asking me about my health data, and apparently I'm supposed to answer that and just assume they won't sell it... So I wanted to get this done and I gave senior the information, and then she left. I started to tell new girl that earlier when she asked me if I WANTED TO READ THE HIPAA POLICY and I said yes, she didn't give senior the same response that she gave me. Then she acted like she never had a job before and brushed right past me and did something in the storage closet while I was trying to talk to her. I told her she was really flippin' rude. That was about all I had in me by the end of the day, so I just left. I don't like the fact that Visionworks makes you scan something with your phone to login to their system. I don't like the fact that Visionworks doesn't even TRY to have a HiPAA policy, yet they make their employees CALL IT a HIPAA policy. I don't like the fact that they want people to agree that the eye exam is good before it even happens. This place was a complete waste of time. I'm sure the doctors are great but I wish it wasn't set up like an optometrist drive-through.

I have been going here for years. The staff is made up of people who make me feel like part of the…read morefamily. While getting excellent eye care and answers, they don't mind lots of talking or even if something said does not come out just right, they are good with people just being people. This creates an environment that is hard to find these days, leaving you feeling amazing afterward and inspired to keep it going in your next environment. I don't know how their prices compare but I do know using my glasses and contacts reminds me of really great people that I am grateful to interact with. Also Dr. Avila, who advises me, has always given great advice and has been one of the best doctors I have ever worked with.

I didn't want to go to urgent care so decided to just call my optometrist to see if I could get in today. I called at 614p on a holiday (observing for the 4th). He called me back at 617p. I did not at all anticipate hearing from him until today sometime. I was totally shocked! We talked about what was happening and he told me he could see me (HA! Pun intended) in the morning before his first patient. Bless his entire heart. Got everything squared away and was good to go before by 8a. He didn't even ask for my insurance info or charge for the quick visit. I've been seeing Dr. Hemingway for at least 5 years now and he is just so wonderful. This little story is just an example of how he places his patients first. He is just so kind, easy-going, and very thorough. He is the only optometrist in his practice. She would even remember that I liked coffee and mentioned it to the receptionist to make sure she made me a cup. What doc does that? One that cares for her patients. I go about 1x a year nowadays for a check in, and have continued to get great care from all the Drs Busby, Feipel & Ray. Also they offer a free eye checkup for babies. Dr. Ray was great with my kiddo and had a fun little light up toy so she wasn't frightened during the exam. They are a great asset to the community.

All of this was very important to me- I've had emergency eye surgery for a rare glaucoma and I don't take lightly who I see for my eyes! The office staff were incredibly friendly and a pleasure to see! The technology they've invested in is fantastic. The Dr. was excellent! She listened, gave great advise (saving me from future trauma even), and then went above and beyond to order me trial contact lenses- What I absolutely loved was not only that the service and care was wonderful, but I got those trials in exactly a week and all I needed to do was swing by and pick them up.
