It was our first time camping with a teardrop, so mostly we were wanting to see how it worked. The trailer is easy to tow and works really well. But this review is about the business. Mike is excellent - friendly, professional, and helpful. Payment was handled easily with a credit card. I paid to have the trailer delivered to my home, where Mike went over all the details about equipment and features. It was well-supplied, with bedding, kitchen goods, stove fuel, LED lantern, even chairs and an extra table, and a EZ-Up Pop-up shade. The equipment is well maintained, and aside from a couple little need-to-know details, works nicely. Also, after I had the trailer, I had a couple questions for Mike. I texted him and he responded immediately, which was great. We're looking forward to renting again in the future.

This is one of my favorite places in the world. Tracy and Mikki are the best!…read more Every year our family goes camping in Ansel Adams wilderness. Minarets packs our gear in and out for us. We arrive at Minarets Pack Station with all our gear the day before our hike in. Mikki has an amazing dinner prepared for us. This year it was massive ribeye steaks. So good! We enjoy a lovely meal in the big house together giddy with anticipation about our camping trip. Afterwards we retire to one of the pack stations super comfortable glamping tents for the night. We sleep like babies on super comfortable warm beds. We wake up bright and early and put our gear on the mule loading dock. Mikki provides us with a wonderful huge breakfast and we set off to hike in to our chosen lake. The mules bring our gear up which arrives a little after we do and we live like kings on our own private lake for a week or two. It is absolute heaven. I cant say enough about Mikki and Tracy they are so kind and welcoming. The atmosphere at the pack station is lovely, with a beautiful green pasture surrounded by fir trees. The food and accommodations are over the top. Staying the first night at the station is 1000 times better than a crappy motel in sweaty Oakhurst

Overall, they do a great job with the cleanliness! It's hit or miss with "mom and pop" type places, but the floors, bathroom, and bedding were all fresh! A few suggestions as far as the kitchen and appliances go... If it wasn't available for use, I wouldn't have known any better, but since it was there, it's like come on do a better job. Clean the ashes out of the weber. The open box of pancake mix, ew. The random assortment of coffee packs that appear to have been left by other cabin users, with no expiration date, not the best. Also, if you're going to have a salt shaker... make sure it's full. Like I said, if these items weren't available I wouldn't have assumed they should be. But since you guys put them in there, do a better job at keeping it stocked and maybe consider better quality stuff. It doesn't cost much to put foil, tongs, coffee, and a legitimate salt and pepper grinder in the kitchen. If you really wanna step it up, a 20.00 pack of silverware from target instead of the hodgepodge of forks in the drawer would have been killer. That's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, if that small stuff is the biggest "issue" than this place is still pretty awesome!! The new owners are reshaping and rebuilding these traditional cabins located in downtown Shaver lake. I stayed in one of the nicest well kept cabins that offered a single Queen bed, roomie bathroom with a wonderfully high shower head( I'm 6'2") and a nice kitchenette. Flat screen TV with local cable. One of the nicest and welcomed amenity was the gas fireplace that was crackling when we entered the room. These cabins are located close to all of the local restaurants and bars with easy walking access to the whole village. I will be making future plans to staying with the knotty pines in the future. I was also told to look forward to a new reservation website and friendlier staff. Thanks again Knotty Pines Cabins of Shaver Lake.

Situated right across the street from the lake and perpendicular to Billy Creek, the beauty of Huntington Lake completely surrounds you. Potable water was accessible from everywhere in the campground. We saw deer every single day we were here. We stayed in site 10 with a small travel trailer and two children and it was super easy to get in and out of. We will be back!

First off, I want to say that my 5-star rating only applies if you are visiting between mid-October…read moreand mid-April. During the rest of the year (April 15 to October 15), it's too hot to really enjoy camping either here, or at the Corp of Engineer's other campground at H.V. Eastman Lake a few miles to the northwest (Codorniz Recreation Area). The ideal months are probably November and March, especially if you are tent camping: not too hot in the daytime, not too cold at night. In December, January, and February, it's going to be really cold at night, the nights are really long (14 to15 hours), and those months have the greatest chance that it will be raining. If you are tent camping, I recommend that, if possible, you make a reconnaissance day trip in advance, and visit both the Hidden View and Codorniz campgrounds, to inspect the campsites for yourself. When tent camping, you really need the site, or at least the tent pad, to be as flat and level as possible. Both Codorniz and Hidden View are located in rolling hills and not all of the sites offer as much "flatness" as you might want, and it's almost impossible to really tell for sure what these sites are like from the photos on the Recreation.Gov website. Codorniz is not quite as hilly as Hidden View, and has more trees, but that said, the trees in both campgrounds are Valley oak (Quercus lobata), and these aren't really the best shade trees, having very small leaves. They are bare in the winter months and don't even start to develop leaves until late April, so in the winter and early spring, the trees all look dead and there's no shade at all. There are boat ramps and day-use/picnic areas at both Hensley and HV Eastman Lakes, but the lakea are relatively small, compared to Folsom Lake or Lake Oroville, and in the winter and early Spring months the water level is typically so low that the ramps might not even be open. Something to consider is that Hidden View campground is only 75 miles from Yosemite Valley: if you would like to camp somewhere with electric and water hookups that's reasonably priced, and make a day trip to Yosemite, Hidden View is a good choice.

In July, it's like visiting Satan's favorite county park. It's 110 degrees, the lake smells gross, the bottom is all silty and nasty, and the area where the lake has receded from its high water level is muddy and squelchy. I think this is where parking ticket cops and used car salesman go on vacation. Probably also where those guys whose job it is to deny workers comp claims spend a weekend. Only somebody professionally evil (or a rattlesnake) could love this place in July (and I have my doubts about the rattlesnake.) You could drive 30 mins further and be in the Sierras where it's 20 degrees cooler, the water is clean and clear and doesn't smell like the decaying dreams of a homeless fisherman, and the bottom of the swimming hole is granite rather than a squishy layered lasagna made of the bodies of rotting demon fish. I also really don't get these reviews that are like "the lake is gorgeous." It's a man-made reservoir set in a relatively barren landscape. Yellow hills and oak trees here and there. It looks exactly like what you might imagine "we put a bunch of water in a place only fit for cattle grazing" would look like. This spot is the epitome of "the part of California you drive through to get to somewhere else." Still, it's clean and easy to get to and I recommend it as a stopping point on a road trip if you need one - just not in the middle of summer.

Bikes they offer are hard to ride - they are cruisers, no gears, and there are mountain hills all around. On website check in said 4:00pm. 4:15pm we were still waiting for them to have our airstream ready. Not worth it for the price. I also asked if they would honor the 40% off Black Friday Deal. They said no. And they charge an extra $35 a day on top of the $350 for 'amenities' Definitely NOT worth the $850 I spent for 2 nights.
