David took the unit apart, and in removing the drain pan he found a buildup the was keeping the pan from emptying totally. He proceeded to remove the blower which definitely needed service and clean and reassemble the unit. He the checked the split system, put anti sludge that I had in the drain pan, flushed the drain and then clean both the outside units. We scheduled service for next year.

Spending upwards of 5K warrants getting three opinions so I start with the first one. I won't name names. He found a bad transformer, replaced it but it blew in about 5 minutes. He says "You have a short somewhere". I'm like, "OK, now what?". He just shook his head and said it's time for a new unit. My heart sank.Told me I'm looking at close to $7K. I almost died. Got the written quote later for $7,200. Nope, I'm moving on. I'm not dumb, I know about what I should be paying for my type of unit. (all outside, one level) I call someone else and tell them the whole story pretty much believing my system is dead so I guess he believed it too. He comes out to just assess the size and quotes me $4,800 which is a lot more reasonable. Still, I'm sick over this whole money situation plus the weather is getting much warmer. He was 2.5 weeks out from being able to install one. I call Don who was recommended by my co-worker and tell him the same story from the first guy and he immediately said, "No, that's not right. I'll be out first thing in the morning". What's great is that I didn't even need to leave work. Next thing I get is a text from him saying I'm fixed. Whaaaaat?! Yes, I had a short. It was coming from a bad contactor. He said the first guy should have caught that so obviously he was too lazy and wanted me to buy a $7,000 unit. Lesson learned........always get a second and more importantly, a third opinion. Don saved me so much money and stress. He has no idea how much he's helped me. Don't hesitate to give the Sutton's a call!

Honest A/C was very highly rated. Tony did not disappoint. All the reviews were very accurate. He was a little later than he had said he would be but called to keep me updated. When he arrived, he encouraged me to be there while he looked things over and took the time to explain what he was looking for each step of the way. He discovered a small leak in a relief valve, repaired it and topped off the refrigerant. The unit is now cooling properly.
