    Super fast and easy!! I would have been outside dmv all day. But they saved me. Small fee but I'd rather pay for time I'm not spending.

    First of all, nobody likes doing stuff at DMV so I can understand why there are alot of negative…read morereviews about not only DMV here in Fremont but probably all over the country! And speaking of this, I can understand the mentality of the employees working there! I came here for renewing my DL and also applying for Real ID. For me, the real pain in the butt is looking for parking space but when I got in, I had no problem figuring out what line to get in or what to do, I guess it's because the front desk lady (black lady) and the security lady were pretty efficient, instructing people if they got confused! After you check in, DMV will text you your appointment number and just check the monitor screens to see when your appointment # will be served at which window, simple as that! The room was packed and most of the chairs were taken. I was able to have a seat in front and observe those DMV employees serving customers. They seemed efficient and pleasant and customers seem cooperative and efficient as well! I didn't see or hear any arguments or loud voices. I was waiting for about 20 minutes before seeing my appointment # pop up on the screen. The total time I walked in until I walked out was about 35-40 minutes which is not that bad at all! If you have all paperwork ready in hand, it should going smoothly, only negative things are parking and lots of people (it's DMV, so of course what do we expect, right?)

I honestly don't know if making an appointment made that much of a difference timewise, but I'd rather have one than not. The parking lot is small. You'll most likely have to park on the street. When you first enter the building, you see a huge sign hanging from the ceiling that says, "ALL CUSTOMERS MUST HAVE A NUMBER TO BE SERVED". This is very confusing because they never tell you where and how to get that stupid number!!! We had an appointment but didn't know if we needed a number before or after we got in the "appointment line"! There is no designated employee situated at the front door to guide you. Hello Management, it would be so simple to have an employee inside the front door to guide your customers so that they aren't all standing around guessing where to go! Everyone who entered had that "deer in the headlights" look on their faces. Thankfully those customers waiting nearby were able to steer people to the right line. Eventually 30 minutes after we'd been issued a number, a security guard came by to usher those of us standing, outside to wait for our number to be called... as the waiting crowd around the door was a fire hazard. Thankfully, they broadcast the numbers via an outside speaker. Okay, if you come to this Fremont DMV, here is what to do. First, either enter the "non-appointment" line on the right against the wall, or the "appointment only" line on the left against the windows. If you've got an appointment, eventually an employee will ask for the time of your appointment and then issue you a number. If you're too early, you'll have to continue to wait in line. After you get your number, you wait again... We got our number at 10:33 for our 10:40 appointment. We weren't called to a window until 11:10. After the driver's license renewal, payment, and new picture taking, we were finally out of the DMV, at 11:22. I suppose it could've been worse. At least the employees were nice. Don't be afraid to ask questions when you enter. Otherwise, you might be wasting time in the wrong line!
