Not EZ to collect here. The owner will follow you around the store like you're going to steal one of his battered Jim Nabors records that's priced at 5 dollars. WTF dude? In all my years of being a vinyl enthusiast I have never seen the game played so badly. This place is a mess with everything stacked horizontally in a shambolic moldy hoarder disarray. Nothing in this hovel except the aforementioned "5 dollar" stock [read - sub dollar bin garbage) is actually priced, so If you somehow miraculously find something - an LP/DVD/Cassette etc the owner will look it up and charge you listed [not sold/completed] eBay prices. I don't even think the owner knows how to actually use discogs or ebay for that matter. If you are serious about records do not waste your time or money here this place is a joke. There's SO MANY other amazing well curated organized and customer friendly spots to patronize within a 30-45 minute drive. I highly suggest you go to Human Head or A1 and get blown away by the selection and prices on offer,not to mention amazing warm customer service. As someone who regularly visits record stores all over New Jersey and Pennsylvania, I was completely weirded out by this place. It was one of the worst shopping experiences I have had. First, the store is an absolute mess. It is nearly impossible to find anything. Records are stacked on the floor and piled on top of each other with no real system or organization. It felt more like walking through someone's hoarder house than browsing a shop. Honestly, it looked like a fire hazard. There were no categories or sections, and nothing was labeled. The owner grabbed me as soon as I walked in and immediately started asking what I was looking for. That could have been fine, but the way he approached me was uncomfortable. As a young woman, I was shocked by the way he spoke to me. He questioned whether I actually knew what I was talking about. I stayed polite, but when I asked about a specific rare record, he responded by warning me multiple times that it was a lot of money, as if I did not understand what I was asking for. I told him I had been searching for this record across New Jersey and Pennsylvania and knew the value. Still, he kept asking if I was sure I wanted to see it. After the third time, I gave up. It felt condescending and dismissive. There are no visible prices in the store. He makes up the prices based on the customer, which is completely unfair. A newcomer could easily be taken advantage of. There are many sellers and store owners both online and in person who are honest and transparent. It makes me angry to see someone treating customers, especially young or newer collectors, this way. To make things even worse, you are not allowed to inspect the condition of a record without the owner standing over you. That might make sense in a pristine and well curated store, but here, records are tossed around carelessly and not taken care of at all. The irony is unbelievable. I've been to this store a few times. First visit was over 5 years back when I was just started getting into vinyl and I actually liked my experience at EZ2collect. I picked some common records from the $5 bins, they were in OK condition (some had scratches, beat up covers with ring wear and water damage), however as a novice I was satisfied. Later I saw these same titles for better prices and in more preserved condition at other stores and shows (for $1-2). It was OK, as I didn't spend much at the store, plus it was part of a learning process. Last time I visited was about a month ago. By now I built nice collection and I am only looking for rarer records in collectable condition. When I walked into this store I knew right away that chances of me finding records in good condition in those tall piles of records stacked on top of each other were slim to none. I am sure there are some great titles in those mountains of records, but it's impossible to look through them without lifting and moving hundreds of records. I can only imagine how many envelopes were ruined and how many records warped under weight of other records. My suggestion to the owner - change how you store the records, put them in crates or bins. This will increase amount of customers who will go through your inventory and will keep the records in saleable condition. Also, asking people what they are looking for doesn't work for many customers, as we love to browse and find something. Sometimes we buy the same record we already own if it's in better condition or different version/issue. Go to a record show and see how vendors bring thousands of records, yet they are easy to look through in cases or crates. Huge vertical piles in your store are intimidating. They way your store is currently set up and how you treat your records will scare off more experienced collectors, and you will be left with beginners who mostly target your discount bins (which BTW are easier to navigate that your more valuable items). read more

No, he asked me what I was looking for and I told him I was into punk music. He then told me all the punk was in the back and it "wasn't cheap". I picked three albums and he proceeded to look them up on Amazon and Discogs and told me the highest price listed. "No good deed goes unpunished as he tried to convince me some hard to get items were nothing special." I did not try to convince you they were cheap CDs. I asked you to check eBay sold listings for what people were actually paying which was between $10-$20. "yet he really wanted them, as he states he is a collector." Wrong, he told me they were $80 each and I said "ok, I'll pass. Thank you" and left. Doesn't matter to me because I found the CDs for $12.99 directly from the record label. I asked you a price since all your record are unpriced and you came up with a ludicrous price. I then told you it was a $25 record in the VG condition you had it in on Discogs. Went in on a whim on Friday afternoon when we were on broadway, my boyfriend is always looking for equipment for his business and is a record collector. I was actually excited by the amount of memorabilia around as I love to collect vintage figures as well but the woman employed here is very unwelcoming. Every second we were in the store she was trailing behind us which I want to be understanding as I'm sure it is hard to keep an eye as the store is a bit cluttered but she was actively getting in the way when I was trying to shop and actually pushed past me to follow my boyfriend as he was trying to get a look at the equipment and commented he shouldn't be looking at it unless he's actually interested in music equipment (I replied he was, why else would he be back there?) to which she replied her boss wasn't present and he would be returning soon. Can we not shop if he's not present? I'd honestly appreciated it if she was just upfront and honest she wasn't comfortable with us being in the back area when she was on her own instead of eyeing us so intensely we would've continued shopping within her view until he returned. Everything in those back isles with the equipment was also placed haphazardly and was quite dangerous, my boyfriend didn't want to even inquire about what he was interested in because of how buried it was. We ended up leaving due to her behavior, I'm seeing from other reviews this is common and hope this business takes this commentary to heart. You have products people want! Maybe just don't run the customers out next time. read more

Went in looking for jazz LPs. Picked out a record from the (precarious) jazz section labeled "$50-100." I asked the woman working there what the price would be in that range, and she told me that I needed to wait for the owner to return in 5 minutes. I was also told to "not remove any albums from their sleeves" to inspect them because there are "rare and valuable albums", and the owner would remove them for me upon his return. Insulting to any serious record collector. 15 minutes pass and he finally shows up. I hand him the album labeled "$50-100" and he tells me that it'll probably be a little more. Says $115-120 range. Okay....??? Then he goes to his computer and begins to browse eBay and Discogs. Tells me copies have recently sold for more than that ($120-250 range etc.) He also mentions that someone on Discogs is asking $300 for a copy. The guy tells me he wants to "help me out" and give me good price and throws out $275 (!!) IF I pay cash. Walked out right there. I had several other albums I wanted to purchase as well, but not after that. Ridiculous way to run a (record) shop. I understand wanting to get market (internet) value for an album, but the audacity of adding over $175 to the price of a record that is clearly marked "$50-100" in front of a customer is unreal. Not only that, but this place is cluttered and impossible to navigate. Bins are stuffed too tight to browse, and most of them have records haphazardly thrown around on top of them. Stacks upon stacks of random records placed horizontally and vertically literally everywhere. I could hardly walk through the place. Prices were high all around. I won't even mention how difficult it was to find my "'$50-100' but actually $275 cash" album. In the jazz section, an original copy of Freddie Roach's "All That's Good" on Blue Note was *literally* shoved in a crate horizontally and bent! Can't make this stuff up. So - to the establishment: Put them on eBay then! Seriously. Spare your customers the time and (legitimate) trouble of looking through this place. Oh, and take care of your "rare and expensive" albums. I've been to hundreds of record shops around the world and this was the overall worst experience of them all. I went there with my teenage son right before covid . The owner didnt see us walk in together. As i found an album from a rock band that i knew the prices of , and i let the owner know ahead of time that i understand the different versions and the worth of each , I asked How much? The owner said " $40 for a collector like you who knows , but for a kid like that who doesnt know it would be $60" and he pointed to my son.... WHAT THE HECK ???!!!! Not to mention that 40 dollar record everywhere else was about a 10 dollar record... the guy breathed down my neck as i tried to look thru the bins, but the records are so jammed in the bins, that made it impossible to flip thru anything. Owner: do not bother with your templated response - it doesn't hold water. Went there for the first time expecting a great shop with a huge inventory of LPs at decent prices. First, the albums are SO tightly stored in the bins, you cannot fit your fingers in to flip though and easily browse. When asked about a particular artist, he showed me to the back room that was a mess - excuse: "they filmed my store in a TV show and I haven't been able to clean up"?!? (I doubt the store had ever been clean) - which had NONE of that artist's records, only others in the same genre that were in poor condition. IF you can get your fingers to pull out an LP of interest, they are not priced and you cannot take them out of the plastic sleeve to examine them (he actually scolded this collector of over 50yrs who KNOWS how to handle vinyl carefully). When asked about the price - yes, same story as others - he comes back with unbelievable numbers after looking online. What a crock of s***. As for the "1000's of discounted LPs" he touts, they too are in tight boxes or simply stacked in PILES. And not only are they scratched, but covers are so badly marred that I wouldn't donate them to the Salvation Army thrift store, no less pay $5 a pop. Lastly, after an hour there, I came home to scrub my hands with borax, and probably should have thrown my clothes in the wash - it is that dirty and musty. This owner needs an assistant who can better sort/categorized/grade/price his huge inventory in a manner that would increase his sales. I do not know what collectors patronize his store to make it worth him staying open for a profit, but they must be ignorant tourists or collectors with no quality standards. read more

My experience with this store is completely different than some of the others who gave low ratings. I was looking for "Eat a Peach" and the condition of the record was a concern to me. Irv showed me at least 20 of these albums and he allowed me to remove from their sleeves to inspect. This was after he gained confidence that I knew how to handle records and would treat them with care. He told me that I was not allowed to mix and match records and sleeves and album covers. This is understandable from my experience, even if it's not what would benefit me the most. I found what I wanted however, and his $20 price for a double album is quite fair. I decided to check out the store as I was in the area for a concert. I have been to well over 100 record stores and was eager to check this place out. It did look impressive with lots of compact discs, Dvd's tapes collectible toys laser discs and a back room with Vinyl. The room was cluttered with LP's just arranged by A-Z. It was hard to move around as things were tight. None of the LP's in the section I was "Allowed" to look in were anything special. Just the standard pressings of rock, pop, LP's in VG condition that one can get for $1.00 to $8.00 or so at any other store I have been to. One entire section was roped off. The guy said he could pull anything I was interested in. Not such a god way to sell records. Plus the section were the LP's were "roped off" were just more of the standard records one would see at any thrift shop or $5.00 bin at any other store. Plus they guy kept hanging around while I tried to look at the LP's. I thought he was just eager for me to ask for a LP in the section that was roped off. However it felt it was more like he was worried I would put a 12 inch LP in my pants and try to run out. Same for when I was looking at the cassettes. and CD's.Some CD's had okay prices. But others like a disc from KIX a 80's metal band that goes for about $3.00 or LESS in any other store was priced at $30.00 sealed as being labeled "Rare and out of print" When I was leaving the owner acted annoyed that I had not bought anything. One might find some good things if you have the time to look thru everything. But most things appeared to be overpriced. There are better choices in NJ, Like Vintage Vinyl in Ford's or Music Merchant in Westwood. NJ. read more

Tons of great sealed original pressings, but also hundreds of used albums from $5 and up. Well worth visiting. They also have a ton of other stuff: video games, memorabilia, instruments, toys, etc... An awesome local store with any record/cd/cassette/whatever else medium of music you can think of. Tons of turntables and cassette decks. The owner knows his store down to the tee and if you need something he knows where it is. New storefront is spacious and inviting, Prices are fair for what's sold, vintage presses of vinyl records and tape decks from the 80s are my go to. love the store and I always try to find the time to go back and flip through the thousands of records to find something new to listen to, never had a bad experience. The place used to be a real word of mouth type of place when it was up the block under the lighting store, but now you can't miss it driving down broadway. Definitely my favorite stop to hit on a day off. He has a crazy selection of old jazz and blues records on top of the ol rock n roll that we all go to the record store for, I always find something that I have to bring home when I'm there. read more

Absolute worst record store experience of my life. A joke. I chose 2 records. Siouxsie and the Banshees Hyeana and Social Distortion Mommy's Little Monster. I was told I COULD NOT BUY THEM Until the owner came in. His wife, or whoever she was told me he said they were 40 plus dollar records. I told her I have been collecting for a LONG time and know what things are worth. I also told her that I know a ton of people in the Vinyl community and could give them a lot of business. The only cheep stuff is crap and most of the records are in crappy condition. Stopped in here the other day for the first time and I was just overwhelmed by the exhaustive amount of everything that they stock! There is so much to look at here that you could easily spend hours. And beyond records, cassettes, and CDs, there's an extensive movie section in the back, shirts, and a random assortment of pop culture toys, posters, stands, and miscellanea. Just an incredible reservoir of items. Chances are, if you've been looking for a specific record or CD for years, you'll find it here. The catch is, you'll have to pay for it. Rare stuff ain't cheap, and neither is this place. But again, they stock music I've never been able to find elsewhere (even online). Finally, the owner is a heckuva nice and helpful guy. He offered deep assistance when I asked, but left me alone the rest of the time. It's a bit costly, but this place has it all, and I highly recommend any collector to stop here. read more

Get ready for sticker shock. Majority of records are not priced. Picked out some records which the owner then priced for me. All the prices he quoted were way overpriced. Example a CITYBOY record which owner priced at $20 I found multiple exact copies on internet for $4-5. There are some good records here but the crazy prices will keep you from purchasing them. Very difficult to search through the record bins as there are piles of things both in front of the racks and on top of the records. If you know what you are looking for and are willing to pay EBay or higher prices this is a great place, as it has a very good selection of VG to NM records. I was able to quickly add a dozen records to my ECM collection in one shot. I picked all the albums I wanted, all in EX and better condition and the owner looked them up on eBay, we then negotiated a bit and came up with decent prices. I wish I had read the reviews before stopping at this place! I would give it 0 stars if I could. We decided to check out the store on Record Store Day. As everyone else has described, we found thousands of records sorted A-Z that were all, apparently, $10 each, even though most could be found in any Goodwill and were not in good condition. When we looked through the more expensive jazz and blues records on a shelf, the owner came over and started telling us about how he sells them online for $150 each and how we couldn't afford them. He kept harassing us to ask him for specific titles. We found a record we had just seen for $20 at a normal record store and asked him for the price; he told us "we didn't even want to know" because "it is definitely out of our price range". He also told us over and over that all Chuck Mangione records were "only $10". We left as quickly as possible. What a strange, deluded, sad man, and a truly awful record store. read more

This place is great on first impression. You walk in, and there's a huge collection of CDs, old toys, posters, etc. in the front room and in the back room there is probably the largest collection of used records I've ever seen. It all goes downhill from there though. The guy who works there was the stereotypical music snob; he didn't offer to let us into the roped off section where the more expensive records were, was talking about stuff that he sold online for over 300 dollars and not telling us what it was because he thought "we wouldn't have heard of it", and watching everything we were doing the entire time we were shopping. It was an incredibly awkward and uncomfortable experience. I didn't feel like I was in a store, I felt like I was intruding into the guy's personal space. I wouldn't have been surprised to find a bed that he sleeps in in the back. The major dealbreaker however, is the prices. There were no records in his collection that he sold for under 10 dollars. I can go to a record shop in NYC and get records that look and play perfectly for a buck, and not have people scrutinize me while I shop. It's worth it to pay to get into NYC to buy records rather than going to this place. Never going back here. read more

The guy who runs this hellhole is the worst. Dirty place up front selling musty toys and beanie babies, the back warehouse gets to an even lower low as there are 15,000+ LPs piled up, but you can't touch anything except for a small bin of 30-40 overpriced Bruce Springsteen records. Clearly not worth visiting to buy vinyl (Here Be Dragons), but I saw something interesting when I was leaving, a guy was trying to sell the owner records, nothing incredible but some decent enough $10-$15 Decca/Verve blues and jazz LPs. The two got into a heated yelling match as the owner only wanted to pay out 25 cents each (for stuff he would probably mark up to $30 with his demented hoarder logic). So it's a pretty terrible place to sell records to too, stay away from this timewaster. read more

Stopped in with the wife today for the first and last time. The place is an episode of Hoarders in the making. A disorganized overflow of everything you don't need or want and nothing you're actually looking for. Add to that the fact that everything is grossly overpriced and the owner is a complete fucking head case. While I was there I saw a CD single from the 90's selling for $20.00 and a new sealed album (covered in an inch of dust) selling for $30.00. Adding to the stores nuance is the smell of mold and piss that follows you around like a love sick puppy. The only things this garbage dump lacked was a gas rag and a flame thrower. This place is pretty cool. I'm surprised by all the negative reviews! Not too long ago, I visited the shop with my best friend. I was so happy to have found albums by Hole and Babes In Toyland after asking the owner about them. The owner was very helpful and wasn't rude or snobby. It's a little hard to walk around the store bc there's just so much stuff. The heavy dust around the shop made it a little hard for me to breathe since I have easily triggered asthma. As soon as I bought my items, I had to wait outside for my friend to finish, because it was just too cramped. read more

I was recommended to EZ by a friend, I took a ride with my partner to the store. It is a treasure trove of all things yesteryear! I am 57 and maybe my review is colored by my age and my musical tastes. I found the owner to be knowledgeable, more than helpful, not pushy at all and wiling to take the time to find what I was looking for. I was taken aback by the other reviews here personally. A CD is 15.00, and a CD of an old record is the same. I don't think his prices were that crazy, although a bargain bin might be something he could think about in future for items that will never move. I will go back again soon, and I would recommend this store to anyone who is looking for hard to find LPs. I also have to applaud the owner for his stock of Opera and Classical. read more

The store and its owner certainly has a unique personality not everyone will be satisfied with. But that's their experience and opinion. All I know is that this is my 4th time in the store in a year and he has been helpful, patient and has always found the vinyl album I'm looking for beneath all what appears to be a chaotic but really organized piles and stacks of records : Brubeck.
