As a 68 year old African America female the atmosphere was toxic. The young white female workers, young enough to be my children followed me like I was going to walk out the store with all their merchandise while their white customers were shopping without the same standard. They just didn't see want I saw from one of their "white customers." YOUR JEWELRY IS MISSING. As an educator it is always my goal when given the opportunity to teach my students how it make people feel when assumptions are made about you because of how you look, talk, etc. all of us deserve respect. Today again was simply hardening. Don't get me wrong the situation was handle with professionalism. I bought my merchandise to prove a point knowing they didn't care. The Owner in my opinion need to address the manner unless this is the POLICY. If so make it known that Individuals that DON'T look like my sales employees are not allowed. The boutique sales role doesn't require social media management because abby christian or mallory parrish is their socials manager. instagram profiles do not prove boutique sales experience. it seems like the managers "weed out" girls based on their looks! I've lived in huntsville for at least three years and have heard nothing but bad reviews for this establishment. Girls fight over the favoritism hierarchy at GUG for little to no pay.

I am a clean, well dressed, older man from out of town. After browsing a while, I politely asked if there was a restroom I might use. Without saying a word, the woman with the tattoos gave me a look as if I had declared that I was going to take a poop on the floor. Still saying nothing, she got up and walked toward me, presumably in the direction of a toilet, but as she passed me she said "Don't leave a mess". We promptly left and took our money to my favorite antique mall across the street, where they were happy to let me use the facilities.
