Mount Wolf PA - Very disappointed in recent service. I have been a customer for 19 years and they don't care they are losing me over a $160.00 repair charge that we should not be responsible for. The filter sheet metal housing was bent and damaged and the only people replacing the filters was Klings for the past 19 years. Maybe they should check their records more throughly. During the last PM, their technician jammed the filter in, causing it to catch on the fan - AC stopped working. This could have damaged the unit. Maybe the technician should have fixed the problem first and I wouldn't be blamed for the damage. Find another company to use. read more

I needed to find out what was going on with our furnace since it was shutting off when it was coldest out -in the single digits and windy. I woke up chilled with less the 65 degrees in the house and had to trip the breaker. We called for them to check on it and they said it was a combination of the sensor and the filter which stopped the furnace from keeping the temp at the specified level. I was pleased with the courtesy of explaining the problem and the prompt attention and customer service - I recommend Kling's if you need someone for Heating or AC servicing. read more

The technician was friendly and professional but that is the only positive thing I can say about my experience. My furnace was not putting out heat. They came out 3 times thinking they fixed the problem each time. The last time they were confident they found the issue. It would be $500. They said that it would last at least until next year and gave no indication that this may not work. I would never have paid that much if there was a chance it might not work. I paid the $500 and it still didn't work. They said the only other solution was to get a new furnace costing close to $5000. When I said I couldn't afford to replace it right now they refused to refund me any of the $500 even though it didn't fix anything. On the menu today is F F Kling & sons plumbing and heating in Manchester Pennsylvania. 17345 in case anybody was curious. My issue isn't with their service, I'm sure every tech that works there has grade A skills. Best in the nation. I'm sure they could even solve global warming with their HVAC and plumbing skills. Unfortunately I would not know, they preformed absolutely no such service for me. The service they do provide you ask? Is judging roofs. Confused right? Let me break it down for you, you will call and ask them to clean out your drain vent on your second story (about 15 foot towards the big guy) and you will warn them "boy that roof is steep" they say "no problem amigo, we clean drain vents all the live long day, there will be an 80$ service fee though is that alright?" I said "you got it, as long as that drain vent gets cleaned." That first guy will show up and that man is a professional. No ladder. No tools. But the skills of a god. That man walks out and says "boy is that roof steep, I'm going to need some help!" He said that on 11/20/2020 he also said he will be back on Monday 11/23/2020 with some ladders (that's how you get on roofs now a days) 11/23/2020 D Day Men with ladders come, they call me. They say "My brother Blaine. We are here to get on your roof and clean that drain vent." I replied with "my man!". Unfortunately I wasn't there to witness this miracle of god, but I do get a bill 13 days later. You wouldn't guess what that bill says? That's right those same disciples of angles that deemed my roof to be too steep the first go around must of got with the other batch of fellers and said on the 23rd that this roof is too steep. How much does this service cost? $80. Roof angle specialists. Now I paid this bill. I'm a response homeowner. I talked to a lovely lady at Klings and I know she had nothing to do with it. (Didn't seem like the ladder climbing kind) but what Klings doesn't know is I have a way with words and I'm making a profile on Yelp just to give a bad review, cause I'm a spiteful bitch. I learn the hard way, through life experiences. I stick my finger in the electrical socket and say "oh that hurts" and I don't do it again. My friends don't use Klings Plumbing and Heating for anything but angle judging. Don't stick your finger in this electrical socket, I already did, I can tell you this one hurts too. Recently moved into a house about 6 months ago, and my furnace was working great. Ran air conditioning for 2 months without a problem. All of a sudden, my unit stopped cooling as well, so I called FF Kling to come out and diagnose the issue. They sent out a young man who told us that our air conditioner had the old style freon, and that we needed to replace the unit and it would be around $5000. It did not have the old style freon. I called the next day, and they sent out another tech who told us it was the AC unit and the furnace. The man then told me it would cost about $8000-$10,000 to replace both units. I finally called another company, and they charged my AC unit and repaired the issue in about 30 minutes. What should have been a $300 repair, would have cost me an arm and a leg because FF Kling is completely dishonest. I left a message with the owner of the company to return my call, and after 3 days, I never got my call returned. I called again today, and the secretary told me the owner got my message and he would call me next week. I asked politely to speak with the owner now, and he refused to speak with me. As a small business owner, I know that customer service and honesty is what separates a great company from a bad one. Kling has proven they are a terrible company. read more

DO NOT TRUST! CARBON MONOXIDE LEAK IN MY HOUSE DO TO BAD INSTALL Their improper install caused chimney damage and sickness, as the boiler company clearly states in instructions. We have had the chimney failure and sickness. If I turn it on again we could DIE!! I hired them to put in a new boiler, water heater, toilet and garbage disposal. A very expensive job. They did not install boiler according to manufacturer recommendations and my boiler has been shut down due to CARBON MONOXIDE leak. We have no heat! The owner is happy with that and will not stand behind their work. Also called for them to check installation. He was in and out in 4 minutes, didn't touch anything, did not check the ventilation problem and billed $75. I asked if he could help with something else since he charged me $75 for zero work and not doing what I called him out for and was told No! Be careful for your safety! I've used FF Kling & Sons three times now. The first two times were for a general cleaning of my heating unit, then again for my air conditioning unit. Today, I used them for a plumbing problem in my bathroom sink. Each time, I've gotten prompt response from the person who answers the phone, and the technicians I've gotten to do the service calls have been polite, considerate and have done a good job. The technicians have also been very good about explaining what they did and cleaning up after themselves (especially with the plumbing, which was VERY messy--but Michael did a good job cleaning it up). Each time, the technicians have been there when they said they would, and even called beforehand to let me know they were on their way. I can't speak at to price (since I don't have anything to compare it to), but as an example, to have my bathroom drain unclogged (which meant the technician took apart the drains under the sink--since we'd already tried to clear those lines ourselves and we knew the clog wasn't there--used a heavy-duty snake to unclog the drain, then carefully put back all the lines and checked to make sure they weren't leaking, then cleaned up his mess), it cost $69 for the service call, plus $89 for the technician's time. He was finished in less than 30 minutes. (Did I mention I called that morning, and the technician came the same day?) Overall, I'm very happy with the work done by the technicians at Kling & Sons and will keep them on my list of local businesses that I'll continue to do business with. read more

I only gave them one star because you have to give them something. We made an appt with them to give us an estimate to run a natural gas line through our basement and replace our existing electric hot water heater with a gas one. They were suppose to be here on a Monday morning at 9 am. They were given our numbers to call if they had a problem. At 9:30 they were not here and we had heard from no one. I called the office directly and got voicemail. I left a message with my name and number saying we had an appt at 9 and no one showed or called. I requested someone please call me back and let me know if and when someone was coming and why no one called to advise they would be at least 30 min late. I said my time is as valuable as theirs. About 5 min later the tech showed up. No apology or explanation as to why he was late. My husband showed him to the basement and told him what we were looking to have done. The man never took out a tape measure or wrote anything down. He said he would send the estimate. After a week and a half and no estimate my husband called him. Of course he got voicemail and he asked if he was sending an estimate. Another 4 days went by and we finally got a call back from him but my husband was driving so he couldn't answer his phone. The tech left a message giving an amount but that was it. I never did get a call from the office. The long and short I would never deal with these folks nor would I recommend them for anything. The techs always make sure they protect our floors and do a wonderful job of cleaning up afterward. They offer helpful information and make sure all of my questions are answered. I would recommend F. F, Kling & Sons to anyone interested in receiving great service from a well known and established company that has been around for over 90 years. You just don't see that now-a days. They give me a calendar during the winter furnace check - no one does that anymore. We just purchased a new Rheem furnace from them and look forward to our continued relationship. My hot water heater kept turning off over night, so I called Kling's to come out and take a look at it hoping they could tell me exactly what is wrong with it. They charge a standard $75 service fee which I was ok with. The tech came out looked at the date and said I need to buy a new hot water heater because my unit is old. He did not tell me what the problem was with the unit which I find strange. He quoted me $1100 to install a new unit which is very overpriced. Once I looked at the invoice I noticed they charged me an extra $55 just to light the unit. After looking up the problem on Google, I called another company and they came out and fixed it for $50. I will never use this company again nor will I recommend them to anybody. read more

I have a service contract with these clowns and when they showed up to do my yearly A/C check the tech pulled the shut off switch and it broke...accident. Unit was running absolutely fine up until this point. They install a new box/ pull switch ($13.67 is what the box cost) and they give me a bill for $151.00!!!! I called to discuss the bill and 2 weeks later the head honcho calls me back and is unwilling to consume any of the over inflated cost basically blaming me and defending his tech. I'm sorry but I am the customer!! Long story short this man is an arrogant smart a$$ who isn't concerned with keeping his customers happy. if you are smart you will STAY AWAY from these jerks.
