My husband and I went early in the morning so it was nice and quiet. We enjoyed the soft Swedish style vanilla bun (I think it also had cardamom in it), and the cinnamon one was ok, but a little firmer. I'd love to try the almond version. Coffees were good too. read more

Fabrique in Covent Garden is a pint-sized outpost of the Stockholm-based bakery, slinging a full selection of bread and pastries but best-known for its buns. We stopped by on a weekend morning on the early side to grab breakfast. I was faced with the insurmountable choice of cinnamon or cardamom bun, resolved by my boyfriend getting the former so I could get the latter. I would say that the cardamom edges out the cinnamon, as it has a more unique flavor, but both were delectable. Soft and decadent. Absolutely stop by for one if you're in the area. Coffee prices are reasonable and quality is nothing to sneeze at. The majority of customers get it to go, but there is some snug seating and they'll nicely plate it for you if you eat-in. Small vases of pink flowers make this feel nicer than the standard cafe. read more

Cute bakery in the West End! We stopped by to grab some breakfast before our show began and were happy with our purchases. We had latte macchiatos, which were delicious, and also tried vanilla and cardamom buns. To be completely honest, I was blown away with the bread! The sweet and spicy fusion of the vanilla and cardamom were an incredible combination unlike any I've had before. Can't fault this adorable bakery! If you have a cinnamon bun craving like I do (frequently!) then this is your place. Perfect location for a mid shopping pause, there are 5-6 tables inside. Discover this bakery while I was travelling in Nordic countries and basically got addicted to the cardamom bun that is simply a croissant like covered with a sugar/light syrup layer and the cardamom. I was very pleased to found out that the bakery opened in London and after now several visit I am a bit disappointed by this"chain". The pastry glass window is not protecting enough the pastries to my taste and while waiting to pay or to choose your pastry, anything can fall on the counter. Also each pastries are quite sugary and fatty (which is fine) but for take away they just put them in a paper bag that can be tricky to carry out (greasy spots) They used to give plastic bag but not anymore. Last but not least, the staff has never been welcoming or even suggesting anything else. They just pick your pastry up and cash it out. I still like Fabrique but not sure if I will go anytime soon again read more

Excellent bakery , selling great cakes and excellent coffee with friendly staff! The coffee is strong and full of flavour and the cardamom buns are superb and it's great to find this in central London. This is a great place to sit and enjoy your coffee and cake. read more

The bread was AMAZING, however it was the most expensive baguette I have ever purchased in my lifetime. You will get great bread, you just have to understand you will be paying premium prices here. Cashier was a bit rude but hey, only had to be in the place for a few minutes. Really cute decor- really great bread! read more

This bakery is heaven ! I was craving some cardamom and cinnamon buns when I realize I was not far away from this shop I had bookmarked one year ago... I had some good cinnamon buns in London but I've always preferred the ones I bake. But that was before I tasted theirs. They are perfect for me: crunchy on the outside and extremely soft on the inside because they don't go light on the butter and butter is key in a cinnamon bun. Also they put the perfect amount of cardamon, cinnamon and sugar. Just before leaving I decided to try their bread : the rye one and the levain one and I can tell you that thanks to this bakery I had a great breakfast this morning... I missed so much my french tartines with a proper bread. Thank you Fabrique bakery for making such amazing things... I will be back, very soon! ps: their croissants and pain au chocolat seems amazing but the prices are way too high (2,50£ for a little croissant). read more

This little coffeehouse at the end of Earlham Street (jetting out of 7 Dials) definitely operates without any ego, has great price points, and strong strong espresso. They also have a generous selection of fresh loaves of bread, French bread sammies with thick slices of prosciutto, and other sweets like cookies, brownies, and muffins. When Monmouth, Timberyard, and Hotel Chocolat may be just too swarmed with the afternoon rush, this is a quieter little nook to hit up. Outdoor bench seating available as well. read more

The Kardemummabullar (Swedish Cardamom Rolls) have a wonderfully powerful cardamom flavor. 3.5 stars, so I'll round up to 4. Wish they had a bit more height or had a bit more contrast in texture. My roll was rather on the flat/short side. read more

I have been in here a couple of times for cardamom buns and sandwiches. The cardamom buns are quite nice but for some reason I remember them being nicer when I had them in Sweden. The sourdough bread for the sandwiches is good, but I find the sandwiches are made in a slightly clumsy way which makes them difficult to eat, eg the goats cheese is falling out of the sandwich. The parts I really don't like are: (1) service is indifferent, borderline rude. The staff make minimal effort and just hang around talking to each other in whatever language, (2) the décor is unattractive, unkempt and slightly dirty looking, eg several broken lightbulbs needed changing (perhaps the staff could have been changing them, they weren't doing much else when I was there). I suspect this chain started out with a good concept but execution in this branch is poor. It may be better in other branches. read more

Five stars. Again, and again. I'm not blown away often. And quite honestly I thought it might just be my jaded way of being that thought this was extraordinary since its an import recipe. Apparently it better than what you find in Gamlastan. Honestly though, morning? Moist and fresh. Afternoon? Same thing. Take it home and eat later? Again..unbelievable. I went less the last few months since its too indulgent, but the cardamom or cinnamon are equally amazing. But if you feel like a semblance of culinary decadence which carefully unsheaths itself to moonwalk from your tastebuds to your synapses (yeah that was a bit much, no?) then catch the seasonal saffron flavor only available during the December January period.
