    Scone!
    Emani A.

Visited Gail's while in London for a couple hours from NY. There were so many options for fresh baked goods. Both sweet and savory! I had the Sultana Scone, the Salami and Cornichon on a cream bun, and a perfectly made Matcha Latte. The people that worked there were very kind and cheery in the morning. There's plenty of seating inside and the option to sit outside. It's designed beautifully, with an open concept that invites people to stay a while or even just pass through with ease during the morning rush. The next time I'm back in London this will be my first stop for sure.

On our recent visit to London I was craving a scone and while I am sure there are tons of amazing ones to be found all around town outside of a small franchise, Gails scone was delightfully tasty! You can find a few locations of Gails around town and each one was consistently good. Service is quick and kind. The scone was soft and not overly sweet. The cream and jam that came along were the perfect pairings.

How could one not love everything about Gail's!? Beautiful bakery and food items paired with your favorite tea or coffee. Customer service was friendly and efficient. I loved the chunky pieces of almonds and gentle cinnamon addition to their almond croissant.

Food - Tasty!!! Full of flavor and so many options in store!!! HOWEVER... my cinnamon bun was slightly raw on the bottom. There was raw pastry sticking to my mouth. Service - Person choosing my pastries rushed me along without allowing me to look!!! Cashier was friendly though! Ambiance - Not lots of seats open at busy points of the day, very bright, fast paced, and yeah

4.5 stars. Definitely one of my favourite of the viral bakeries I've tried in London. The cinnamon bun is 5 stars, super flaky and slight chewy cinnamon mixture makes this a real treat. The tahini bites are also 5/5 if you're a rich chocolate fan like me. I LOVED the flavour of the rose and pistachio cake, but the sponge was just a little on the dense side for my liking. The same with the honey cake bites. I'll definitely go back and have heard the cheese straws are a must try so will grab some of those for my family who love anything cheesy! I thought we'd taken some photos but apparently we just started eating. Great customer service too!

It is a cute little bakery with such an organic feel to the Cafe. I had a pastrami bagel sandwich and it is nothing like American thick bagel. The seasoning was similar to everything bagel with perfect thickness. Pastrami and the pickles went so well. I also had a cappuccino and it was delicious. I had ordered two diff types of financier and oh so delicious. I highly recommend this bakery.

I wanted a proper English scone before I left the UK. I came to Gail's on baker street (can't seem to find the Yelp listing). It was very busy, but the line moves quickly. I opted for the Sultan or something like that. It was a scone with currents or berries in it. So a few things. I got it to go. 1. Maybe I should have eaten it there. 2. I asked for the cream and jam. The cream was right out of the fridge (I assume) because it was very had to spread and wasn't soft. Come to find out once I get back to the hotel - it's butter not clotted cream. 3. Not sure if they are supposed to be eaten cold or hot. That all being said. Scones are very dry. It was helpful to add the jam. Wish the cream was softer too. I did enjoy the flavor though. I regret not eating it there and not getting the other scones as well - they had plain and chive I believe. And for sure needed to try it with the clotted cream. Ps. I was told they are meant to be had with tea. That's yet another mistake I made.

Very good coffee and pastries! We bought the orange marmalade and honey to take home. Looking forward to going back for another coffee.

The reviews make this place seem great. I sadly did not have a fantastic experience. The madeleines seemed over cooked while the cake I tasted was hard and just too dense. I'm not too picky with my sweets, but I didn't even want to finish them. I don't want or reject Gail's altogether so I will go back one more time, but make sure you look at the goods you are purchasing to vet any bad batches.

I loved Gail's Bakery during my recent visit to London. We returned on more than one occasion since their scones were delicious. It was fluffy and flaky and just absolutely delicious. We also tried the parfait which was tasted very fresh. The coffee was great here. The service at this location was speedy and it was clean and tidy inside.

Stopped here in the morning for a quick cup of latte and a breakfast roll. The place was packed with customers who were dining at the bakery. No line and was able to place the order fairly quickly, well that is after debating over so many choices they had as it is hard to make a decision. I settled for my latte and a flourless chocolate cake piece to go. The latte was great and prepared quickly in my to-go cup. I can't comment on the cake as I forgot it in my sister's fridge before leaving as I was in a rush in the morning Hope she got to enjoy it as it looked moist and generous portion!! I really liked the fact that they had a variety of food and baked items for everyone. I guess gluten free is not a popular option in UK Ayer as I didn't see any items that were labeled gluten free. But a place that I will try for a sit down lunch next time I am in London. The bakery is small and was really warm inside, some air circulation would be nice.

Definitely not the best Gails. Often sold out of many items. Still delicious. I still go back.

My only regret…read moreis I wish I had more people with me or I wish I was hungrier cuz I really wanted to order ALLLL the pastries! My husband and I decided to try for a table and we ended up waiting about 45 min - 1 hour to sit. There was a super short line for to-go pastries (and sometimes there was no line), so if you're pressed for time, definitely do that! I love how the Arome workers help move the line along and help people in line find tables. Also speaking of Arome, the AROMA was fantastic! It smelled to buttery and fantastic both inside and while waiting in line. I ended up trying: the iconic Honey Butter Toast, Black Sesame Mochi Cookie, and Almond and Chocolate Croissant, a Savory Croissant (I think Sausage and Cheese), a Chai, and a Matcha. Everything was SO GOOD. All the pastries were amazing. I'm glad we got a mix of sweet and savory things. Everything we had was buttery, flaky, intentional, and made with love. What you'll like the most will depend on your personal flavor preferences! Definitely give this place a try!

I had a seasonal tomato pastry that had good flavor, but the pastry itself was on the dense side, missing the buttery airy lamination. hojicha latte was decent
