Second time had to deal with the owners dumb joke about not coming for 2 months well people have work not like your slow salon. I love the staff here. There's not many employees and I haven't met them all but all the ones I've met so far provide the best customer service. I bought a groupon deal for 10 session of ultrasonic cavitation. Why? Why not? The mechanism makes sense to me and there's a deal, so I gave it a shot. But the real question is, does it actually work? I've done my research for many days and was convinced but unfortunately, it didn't work for me. Being a foodie, it's very hard to stick to a strict diet. I've done it before and seen great results but then I get back into the yolo phase and my food adventures go on. My logic: I can still be a foodie and not gain if I do this? Assuming it won't decrease inches, but prevent new inches. Initially, I hoped for my excess belly fat to decrease a tad since my daily 8mile jogs weren't cutting it but after a few sessions, I just hope I don't gain if I eat like a foodie. The part that upset me the most was my expectation, I assumed, based on what I was told and my research along with reviews, that I would be using the bathroom a zillion times but nope. It didn't change my flow at all. Some days, I didn't even go. So why 4 stars if it didn't work for me? Well I love the staff. They also told me it won't make a difference since I don't have much fat to behind with. LAME. Regardless, I loved coming here because they were fun to talk to. They were around my age, 22, and we chatted like friends. It felt like I went there to hang out. They are super busy! So how does it work? You book your first appointment then they book the rest of your appointments after your first one. They say it's to see if you qualify but that didn't really make sense to me since you purchased a certain number of sessions. They ask for your availability and schedule all your sessions that day. If you book a 7:30pm appointment and run late, you'll miss it because they won't wait. They close at 8. Luckily for me, they rescheduled my appointment. They measure you in the beginning but I don't understand why if they don't track your progress.. So I think this works on people with un-stubborn new fat. Fat that wasn't from childhood. But hey, what do I know? Interesting stories the employees told me: 1. Body builders come for a few sessions to get rid of their lower belly fat. 2. Each treatment room has a sign saying you must have underwear on during the session (yes this has happened to them many times..makes you wonder how many people like to be free)..Haha! I did not plan on spending that much because I am a single parent. I asked her if it will work she said yes so silly me purchased it $900+. I had my treatments on Mondays and Fridays, on a Friday was almost 2 hours for all 3 treatments. After 5 cav & radiofre. I saw no change and I expressed it to them and they kept saying don't worry. I did what I was supposed to do no rice, walk alot, drink alot of water etc. When I had 1 session left I did not attend because I saw no change. I was not satisfied and was very disappointed. I decided to give Fabulous Touch a try when I saw their deal on Groupon. Over the past 2 or so years I have lost close to 100 pounds by just dieting and exercising. As many people who have lost a lot of weight know, the closer you get to your target, the harder it becomes to lose weight. My primary issues were the stubborn fat in the abdominal area and the loose skin that comes with any major weight loss. First I signed up for 9 treatments with the ultrasonic cavitation, here is what I experienced: - A gel is applied to my abdomen before the machine is turned on. - Once the esthetician begins massaging the area with the cavitation handle, I (and only I) hear this annoying squeaking noise (which travels through my body to my ears). I didn't feel any pain, but the sound was annoying. - There is a (painless) warming sensation. - Each session is 20 minutes. - Once the machine goes off, the area is wiped clean and I was good to go. - After 9 treatments (2 treatments a week): visually I saw minimal results, however when I felt my abdominal fat with my hands, a good amount was no longer there, but because my skin was loose, it made the result difficult to see. Being that poor skin elasticity was my second issue, I decided to get 9 treatment of Vela Shape. I am currently on my 3 treatment, and I am VERY happy with what I am seeing (or better yet, with what I am NOT seeing). My skin is getting tighter, and I am noticing more definition in the abdominal area. Here is a bit about the Vela Shape experience: - Baby oil is applied. - A vacuum like handle is moved around the area. You feel the skin being sucked in to the tube a bit. (if the suction is too much for you, you can ask the esthetician to adjust it to your comfort). - There is definitely a heating factor to the unit, and you feel it more as a heat tingle rather than a warm sensation. - The session lasts 20 minutes and then you are good to go. - Like I said, I am on my 3rd of the 9 treatments, and so far I like what I see. (The Vela Shape treatments are each a full week apart, as opposed to the twice a week treatments with the cavitation machine) About the office and location: It is small office, clean and professional. Located on Brighton 6. It is a 30 second walk from the B and Q train (you can also take the B68 or B1, if you prefer a bus). I don't know about other people, but accessibility is a big factor for me, and they are at a great location. [If you have time before or after your appointment, you can take a walk on the boardwalk, which is a 1 minute away by foot.] About the staff: The staff there is just amazing! They are helpful and respectful. Every time I walk into their office, I am greeted with a smile and offer for a cup of water. They take care of explaining the treatment procedure before starting and do their best to make it a comfortable experience for me. Like many others, I first heard about fabulous touch spa through their groupon promoton for ultrasonic cavitation treatment. I purchased the 10 pack since it was obviously the best deal. Due to their groupon being so popular, I booked all 10 appointment in advance to ensure I can get my treatments twice a week until the treatments over. They're very popular so I suggest you call them and see if theyre available for the days you're off before getting a package on groupon and then complaining about how you can't get an appointment. Ive currently done 6 out of my 10 treatment (waist) and had coworkers and family members comment on how I seem thinner. I have to admit I have not been following the instructions giving to me from the technician, which was to drink plenty of water so the fat cells can be eliminated through urination. I just don't have the time to take frequent bathroom breaks at work =(. My diet and exercise didnt chance either, which for me is a good sign that I'm losing inches from the treatment and not from my own efforts. Orginally one of the big factor of why I chose to get the ultrasonic cavitation treatment from fabulous touch spa was because of there excellent review on yelp. The good reviews encouraged me to travel an hour and a half from queens to Brooklyn transferring trains and doing the commute all over again on the way back. Now, for my actually experience here! The spa had 6 staff members. Roza: The owner/ front desk. She's very nice and friendly. She will be the lady who calls you to remind you of your appointments. She's also the person you goto if you have a problem with their policy or technicians. (Be With in reason people!) The technicians Rena: she was the technician that did my first treatment. She was professional and provide me with information that was very valuable (like you can not do the procedure in any area that has metal in it, copper birth control T thingies anyone? ), first session was mainly me asking questions and rena answering. Helen: Had Helen for my 2nd treatment, she was also very informative. I decided to ask her the same questions I did with my previous visit just to see if I would get the same answers. I did =) Olga: I had her for my 3rd, 4th, and 5th treatment. She was really sweet and friendly, we had a few fun conversations outside of the technical terms which was really enjoyable and relaxing. Kate: Today for my 6th treatment, I had kate. Kate was very upbeat and friendly, made me completely forget the fact this was my first time meeting her. We spoke about a wide range of topics and I was so enjoying my time it felt like the treatment time passed faster then normal. Ani: I've never had her yet. But with the wonderful experience I had with everyone else in sure she's wonderful too. I'm overall very pleased with fabulous touch spa and all their staffs. This place has the worst customer service ever. I have bought groupon for ultrasound cavitation. I have done my procedures and they were fine. Also I have bought a package for laser hair removal and it was a big mistake. This procedure is a serious thing and should be performed right. After the first treatment was done, I have got a pretty bad skin burn. I didn't notice it right away, because the location of the area is not easily visible, but three days later I found out it. When I addressed the place with this problem, they told me it was totally my fault and they will not refund my money or substitute this package with something else. So I had a choice to forget about my money or go through this again. I didn't want to take my chances and risks, and I would never advice anybody to do laser at that place. This is a follow up, After completing the 10 sessions and then signing up for VelaShape I have went from size 40 slacks to size 36. Dress shirts from size 18neck to 16 1/2 (slim cut) and jeans from 38 to 34.... my documented pics are in the office... I purchased a groupon for 8 sessions for the ultrasonic caviation.Its been about a month since that time and I have deceided to write this review so that I could give the most accurate review possible based on my experience. After the 8 sessions I indeed saw a difference in my mid-section. It was definately not just the machine alone. I worked out (about 30 mins a day/ 4 to 5 times a week) and drank lots of water. Which you are told is a must to achieve good results. All of the ladies there were extremeley nice and informative. The whole procedure takes about 20 mins which flies by due to the interaction with the techinicans. I referred a friend and she is loving her results. I would definately recommend this place. She was rude and confrontational when it turned out that I have a medical condition that must be cleared by my doctor before proceeding with the service I requested. I would have loved to talk to my doctor prior to my appointment. However, since no one warned me of the possible complications when booking or confirming my appointment, I had no way of knowing that I should do so. Theses women know their stuff, they don't tell you what you want to hear, they tell you the truth. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want anyone sugarcoating anything for me give me the clean and the dirty version.That's why I appreciate the staff at Fabulous Touch. They always telling you what will/should provide you with the best results. Fabulous Touch has always provided me with EXCELLENT SERVICE. I often forget my appointment times and days and the staff always calls to remind me. For a person like me, a professional who is always on the go; this phone call to remind me 1 or 2 days before my appointment is a plus. In addition to the phone calls, 3-4 of my appointments were scheduled in advanced. One of the requests made by the staff at Fabulous Touch is that you take a picture of your appointments with your phone; most phones today have a camera, but if you don't have a cell phone, or a phone with camera your appointments are written down and given to you. With respect to the treatments we as human beings we always want or look for a quick fix, and let's be honest folks using this process is our way of cheating in hopes of maximum results. I know that's my truth. Remember anything worth having takes time to achieve.
