I had a treatment appointment with Ava Rejuvenation about two months ago. I asked for Dysport for…read moremy forehead and the area between my eyebrows. When I went to my appointment, they told me they didn't have Dysport and only had Daxxify. I ended up getting Daxxify twice and paid $500, which was almost double what I usually pay for my forehead treatment. It didn't work at all--no results. (I personally recommend not wasting your money on Daxxify.) I called them several times and asked for a refund. Eventually, they gave me another appointment for a Dysport treatment at no cost. But even after that, I still didn't get satisfying results. After all these injections and spending $500 just for my forehead, I personally do not recommend Ava Rejuvenation. I will definitely contact the Better Business Bureau about my experience. Please do your research before choosing where to go for your treatment.

This time, I didn't realize I had been assigned to Emillee again. During the waxing, I repeatedly asked her to be gentler because the pain was unbearable, but she continued anyway. The experience was extremely painful, and afterward my skin developed blisters. I've had waxing done many times before, including by other staff at this location, and I've never experienced anything like this. Throughout the appointment, she repeatedly commented that I had darker skin and darker hair. Those comments made me feel very uncomfortable and singled out. I also noticed her adding something to the wax during the appointment, although I wasn't told what it was. In addition, wax was spilled on both the floor and the table, making the entire appointment feel disorganized and unprofessional. During the service, I told her how much pain I was in and warned that I would consider taking legal action if my skin was injured because I felt my concerns were being ignored. Despite that, the service continued without any noticeable adjustment. Overall, this was one of the worst waxing experiences I've ever had. Based on my experience, I would not book with Emillee again.

While I was only about 20 minutes away from the office, I received a text message saying my appointment was being canceled. I immediately called the office because I was already on my way. The receptionist assured me everything was fine and told me to come in anyway, saying they would "work something out." After I arrived, I was told by the receptionist very rudely too there wasn't enough time to numb the area before my filler and that I would have to go through it without any numbing medication. I found that completely unacceptable. Their scheduling issue should never become the patient's problem, especially when it involves unnecessary pain. Only after I firmly objected then she suddenly decide they could numb the area after all. That tells me it was possible all along, but I had to argue just to receive the standard level of care. This entire experience was disorganized, stressful, and unprofessional. Canceling an appointment while a patient is already on the way, then asking them to accept a painful procedure because the office was behind schedule, is not how patients should be treated. I hope they improve their communication, scheduling, and respect for their patients' comfort and time. Very unprofessional and disrespectful receptionist... If appointments can be altered without notifying customers, it defeats the entire purpose of scheduling one in advance. I didn't realize i was overpaying! first red flag was being asked if i completed my pre-wax survey and that it should be in my email in what felt like a rude tone. my waxer then came out and was ready for me and the receptionist held me from going until answering the questions - i get it that's fine but being held back from my appt has never happened to me before. my waxer was wonderful! a great experience. i don't want to minimize that the waxers are great there. afterwards the receptionist asked me to charge my card, i said the last 4 digits and normally that's not a problem and the last 2 times i was there at this location it worked fine. but for some reason, now the payment wasn't going through. we think it's the zip code and i ask is there a way i can just pay and update all that at a later time - i am so used to just being able to leave right after that i ended up being late to another appointment having to tap my phone and card several times and each time the machine stated approve but their systems said failed. i check my bank statement and there were 5 charges to my card - all the same amount. i hold up my phone to show them. this is now ~$700 in held pending transaction funds going into the weekend - its was 4pm on friday and banks close over the weekend. i honestly don't understand why i couldn't just tap a credit card like any normal transaction and be on my way - the woman at the reception really had me staying back asking me for my whole address to update instead of just letting me pay and leave! )-: ADVICE: Do not keep tapping your payment method when updating info or if they tell you the charge isn't going through, just ask to pay normally like at any other merchant as a one time charge. i really wish i advocated more when it didn't feel right to be tapping my payment so many times and seeing APPROVED across the payment machine. my appointment was at 3:30pm i was out at about 4pm on friday, may 15. there was only one receptionist at the front at the time. i didn't recognize her so maybe she was new but this experience just really tipped it all over for me. there's a lot of waxers in the area! i advise looking around before deciding on a large chain that has some customer service quality issues. EDIT: yes i have challenged the charges on my bank app already - i just don't have the time to call before lines close for the weekend and the experience over all with the higher prices made it feel like value didn't match spend.

Mundi is meticulous and actually cares about doing an excellent job -- up to her own very high standards. I started seeing Mundi when I still lived in San Jose, and now face the horror of 880 traffic (ok, I try to find an excuse to cross a bridge and then trek down) just because I know Mundi will do the job perfectly. Mundi & Waxing: Mundi gets *every* single little hair. It seems like every time I go somewhere else for waxing, I always find some stray hair when I shower later. Mundi also uses products she believes in -- that means that when I visit Mundi I have never had follicles bleeding from using cheap materials that didn't do the job properly. Additionally, when I was in a fix one time, I visited a local salon where the esthetician used a wax roller; initially I was pretty pleased with how quick the entire process was -- about 35 minutes for full leg, underarm, and bikini, but then I noticed that the wax did not remove any of the smaller or finer hairs that the more laborious waxing with strips method gets. Mundi does not use shortcuts in order to see more clients, and she is worth every penny. Mundi & Facials: I have a friend who sees Mundi, and every so often I'd see her, and her face looked awesome -- her skin was glowing! She would always say she had just been to see Mundi. Well, I finally bit the bullet made time to get a facial the last two times I saw Mundi for waxing. Again, Mundi seems to use products she really believes in, because my skin looked fabulous when she was done with me. I was surprised because I hadn't been washing my face at night or drinking enough water, and had been having a glass of wine every night. I was looking kind of greyish brown with a few flaky spots. Not only did I look a nice healthy honey brown when she was done with me, the effects lasted longer than I expected. Mundi gave me a treatment called LED rejuvenation that utilizes some type of light therapy on the skin. She said she was providing a free treatment so her clients could see how it worked for them. That really impressed me -- she didn't try to sell me some expensive new treatment, but instead provided a treatment she thought would work for me, and then let me decide. I really respect that. Finally, I have to say that Mundi herself is absolutely charming and one of the funniest people I have ever encountered. Somehow when I am apologetic and flustered because I am about 3-5 minutes late (and I hate being late) AND I have to pee, she manages to be a calming and serene influence. I always enjoy talking to her so much I have trouble shutting up, but the last two times I practically conked out when she was giving me a facial. Granted, it might be her working spaces. She obviously put a lot of thought in to the wall color, the art, the music, window treatments, and even the furniture with the little leaf holder for jewelry and such. Needless to say, I have an appointment to see Mundi next week. She is worth every penny of what she charges, which I believe is about going rate or less. I know she charged me less for waxing than I paid for the local wax roller place. Every time I have gone to see someone else, I have regretted it. Mundi honestly cares about doing the best job she can, which I find rarer and rarer when I go to day spas and feel like I am just another body and that they don't really care about performing a service *well* but merely doing their job for a paycheck. read more

Walked up to the front door, which was locked, then the owner and the coworker approached me. I was seated politely, was asked to fill out some paperwork about my skin regimen. Dawn greeted me and said she would have Jessica take over as she was free at the moment. I was walked to the back after discussing my current concerns about my skin. Jessica then proceeded to explain what the process would entail. From what I took from it, it would consist of x2 facial washes to help take off any debri or makeup helping to form a canvas for the skincare which was about to proceed. She then showed me a table within a dim room, with some wonderful relaxing music in the background, and asked me to dress down from the top so she could work the products to my neck, chest, and shoulder area. After the cleanser, Jessica places a towel on my face, then did a hydra facial... that was lovely:) then she did some extractions, had a couple more products placed on like the vitamin c and oxygen treatment, lactic acid, and then placed me under an led light to help stimulate collagen growth. After this, I believe she just placed another warm towel (or was this before, sorry... it was relaxing so I didn't pay attention to every detail), and then she lightly patted into my skin some powder sunscreen and a moisturizer. As a first time customer, it's nice to know that they take time in their clientele even to the point of giving us a short reminder as a follow-up for our next facial. Overall, this was a great and relaxing experience. It's slightly pricier than other local facial areas, but one thing is for sure, I felt like it was individualized care. I didn't feel like I was on an assembly line. Jessica was amazing. Loved her "soft hands" and how she took the time to answer my questions and converse on other health topics. We all are just trying to make this world a better place... aren't we?? Lol. Anyway, the next time I come in, I think I'll have the plasma facial. You have to be certified to do this, so she recommend I call Dawn for this to have the service done. I'll have to do a little more research on this. But hey, I suggest everyone does a little more research before shoving topicals in their face or trying out new procedures. Good service that I've learned has been around for about 10 years (if I'm not mistaken). For all of you organic lovers, this is a wonderful place to go to since they offer an organic skincare line.
