On the day of the appointment, I received my facial (which was fine) and was told again that the owner would reach out soon to arrange something for the unused massage portion. But I never received a call. When I followed up afterward, I was told that because I booked in a group, they would not offer any accommodation--such as store credit or gift card--even after explaining my medical situation. Given that I personally spent $360 and our group spent around $1,800 including tip, I expected a basic level of compassion, especially for a postpartum mom with an ongoing medical issue. I wasn't looking for special treatment, just a reasonable accommodation for a service I physically could not receive. Unfortunately, the lack of empathy and unwillingness to work with me given my specific situation was deeply disappointing. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this spa. If you want a relaxing massage, you won't want to book a deep tissue, and if you want a sport's massage you shouldn't book a massage therapist known for relaxation. I have been privileged enough to have my fair share of massages and I would say for the quality they provide you here, the cost is fair. A dollar an hour was a standard rate before the pandemic and unfortunately everything is about 50% higher including massage. Personally, the massage I got today felt like it should have been $120 an hour because of how knowledgeable and thorough she was. I hesitate to say her name because I want to gatekeep her, but that's not fair for others who also need work done. Cat was a massage teacher and it is telling. My shoulders and neck have never felt so free from pain. I thought it would always be chronic, but her isometric stretches along with her massage (a CBD pain reliefer) really did the trick. Anyway, I can't speak for their facials but I know for sure there are some talented massage therapists who work here. They give you the full time you pay for (not like some other places that might start 10 minutes late and have you end 10 mins early).
