Wanted our stair runner replaced and factory carpet outlet was the place to go! Excellent selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff. They do the binding in house so it's cheaper than other carpet places. Instal was scheduled for two weeks out. My only complaint is on the installers, we found lots of staples on the ground after the install. Other than that, would recommend! read more

I can't say enough good things about the level of service and the quality of the work! Through an unusual set of circumstances related to covid, I ended up working directly with the owner of Factory Carpet Outlet, Guy Williams. Yes, other reviewers are right that it's hard to get his attention sometimes - I ended up going in to the shop nearly once a week when phone calls weren't returned for a few days (generally because he hadn't heard from a supplier or the person he contracted to lay down my floor). But, if you're persistent you won't be disappointed; it's worth the wait! I had a tough project: we have a living room that had nearly 25 year old wall to wall carpeting over a floor that was half in the original house (full basement, visible joists) and half an addition, and that directly adjoins my kitchen (which has hardwood floors) we wanted to match. I'd been told that the addition was a slab floor and so we'd need engineered hardwood. Guy ordered a sample for me, and dropped it off at my home. He looked at the space and said: don't do it - we can put hardwood over slab! It just had to be glued down , which is hard so no one wants to do it - but I have a guy who can. Excited, I went in to the store and picked out a few hardwood samples (no one else in the shop believed that hardwood could be glued by the way). Guy came by a few days later with the "glue down" expert and pulled back carpet in that room, shook his head, walked around outside and told me that we weren't working with a slab but a sleeper floor - a wood framework built over the slab - easier project, we could use nails! - but still requiring some extra expertise, this time from a contractor not on his regular staff who has experience repairing & building pianos. I made my selection, Guy ordered one box of the wood and - the color was off. He worked with me to go directly to a distributor to find the right color. Then, when the carpet wax pulled up he found a solution for the inch height difference in flooring in the two halves of my room. Guy wanted to do the job right. He gave me a fair price, and an expert installer. It maybe took a few extra weeks, but he helped me to source and install a gorgeous floor. That's absolutely worth waiting for! read more

The sales staff was very good, however the installation was where my problems started. I ordered a hardwood floor and the floor was defective according to the owner Guy. He got another type of floor from my original, but that floor had problems also. He came by my house and stated that he would make good on the floor, however I had to call the state board of license on him. Take my advise go somewhere that has quality material and will stand behind there work. read more

Buyer beware. Did not realize that because they had to order the vinyl flooring that it was considered a custom order. No returns even a full box and a length of unused T-moulding. I did tell them that you need to explain to customers up front that you cannot return unused boxes. I would have asked our flooring person to recheck the measurements and be sure of the exact footage. Since I gave them what we thought was the sq footage they told me how many boxes I would need. Live and Learn at our expense. I just figured they did not stock it as not enough room for everything. read more

After all is said and done, my new hardwood floors are exactly what I wanted. There were a few bumps in the road, but we are all human and Factory Carpet Outlet did everything in their power to make everything correct. Unlike the other folks my experience with them was exceptional. Sherry was so helpful in getting different samples from which I could choose. A guy came up to measure and brought some samples. I wanted some more choices so he dropped off some additonal choices. I had questions on which one to pick and Sherry helped very much. I stopped down there to return the sample so they could match and met Guy the owner. He was very nice as well. The installers were great and the carpet is absolutely beautiful. I had gone to a few other local places and honestly, you cannot beat their prices. read more

This store was recommended to us by friends for both their great prices and their great service; however, we definitely had a different experience from our friends. While everyone at the store was nice and relatively helpful (once you got their attention), when it came to getting details it was impossible. We're still waiting for a quote from them and they came to our house 6 weeks ago to measure. I called about three weeks ago to inquire about the status of the quote and was told (by the owner, Guy) that he hadn't gotten to it. He acted as if I was bothering him, which I guess I was, but not unreasonably so in my opinion. We decided that if it takes so much effort just to get a quote, we couldn't feel confident about actually ordering and installing the carpet. As a result we went to another store, which has ordered and scheduled for installation our carpet in less time than it's taking (since we still haven't heard from Factory Carpet Outlet) to get a quote from them. I guess the lesson is you get what you pay for and sometimes it pays to pay for service. read more

I agree about the horrible service. Went there to get information about prices for a custom rug and the owner never got back to us so we had to go back in person. They seem very scattered and unorganized. We basically wasted a week waiting for information and had t go elsewhere anyway. After looking around at other places, his prices are not "outlet" prices. I did get a runner made from the backroom remnants and it came out great. Would go there only for remnants! read more

People were initially nice here but as I would return to try and decide which carpet to go with, it became increasingly difficult to obtain accurate pricing for what I was interested in. Their dogs were barking like crazy in the back room which made it hard to concentrate on shopping. If I asked the salesperson a question about pricing, she would say, "I have to ask my boss". She would disappear and then her boss would come out and try to "close the deal" or "expand" on what I wanted which was pricing. When she initially gave me pricing for carpeting, it changed when I went back. "Oh, that's extra", even though it wasn't listed on their initial quote. It was like dealing with a car sales person. No one had answers and they never sent an email with final-final pricing as they said they would. So much for giving local businesses my business. I ended up purchasing a carpet online at Restoration Hardware. Much more pleasant and a better price! Included the rug pad! read more
