I had a clear covering made of plastic, but it was soft and it curled up and after a couple years, it just didn't look good anymore so I decided to measure my table and look for a company that custom sizes acrylics. I've been doing business with Laird Plastics (Jefferson Blvd, Warwick RI), for many years. They are very reliable and stand behind their products. I've bought full sheets and precision cut segments of all kinds of plastics which have very specific spec requirements.. Thank you Rita and Anthony for your consistent service . I take issue with the negative review given them by another customer.. The individual bought (1) piece one time and opted to post a lengthy tirade which I found unfair. Terrible, unreliable, poor overall service. Laird Plastics does very sloppy work and then puts all of the responsibility and inconvenience on the customer even when admitting that the mistake was theirs. I ordered a rectangular sheet of plexi for a job with very specific measurements which I picked up on Friday. When I brought it to the job on Saturday, I discovered that the width was cut too small and also different widths at top and bottom so not rectangular. This cost me the entire day since I could not move forward with the job. They called Monday and offered to recut it but that I had to drive to them (1 hour) to return the poorly cut sheet and no discount was offered. In other words, they offered to do what was supposed to be done correctly in the first place and taking no responsibility for their mistake or the cost and inconvenience this caused me, the customer. When I protested the unfairness of that offer the representative became very nasty, raised her voice and asked, "Haven't you ever made a mistake?". I replied that when I make a mistake, I do not put the burden of that mistake on the customer, that I take responsibility for it as it should be. She then offered $10 off (barely covering the gas for the drive back). I would have accepted if they would deliver the new sheet and pick up their mistake, at least saving me the cost and time of the drive since I had already lost considerably from their sloppy work, but she refused. After much protest she then finally agreed to refund my money and then exclaimed, "We are done with you!". Laird Plastics does very sloppy work and has horrible customer service putting all of the cost and inconveniences of their mistakes on the customer.
